A knot tightened in Silver's chest. Her father was being unusually cautious. Was he trying to warn her by arranging this meeting?
"Did Father state the reason?" Her voice suddenly turned serious.
"Lord Bryce said that Princess Alleria has asked to meet you."
Silver froze. "I see." She tried to calm her nerves.
The serpent had finally revealed herself.
"Mila, escort Alek back to his chamber. Natasha, fetch me a purple dress."
Silver took a deep breath as Ren—who rarely appeared—opened the door for her. As the door swung wide, her heart was already beating too fast.
