Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Heartwarming

The moment Silver crossed the threshold of her room, her gaze locked onto the bed as if it were a long-lost friend. A sigh escaped her lips, a mix of relief and pure, unadulterated yearning. How she missed the hug of her soft mattress. She flung herself onto it with abandon, reveling in the familiar softness that molded to her form. Nuzzling into the pillows, she inhaled deeply, how she missed the comforting scent of lavender incense. It seems the maid keep burning one even if she was not present. The lingering scent doesn't seem like it freshly burned, it enveloped the entire room.

The carriage that travelled before them was infuriatingly slow, it had delayed them quite a bit. They carry too much stuff it resembled a mobile procession. Did they move an entire mansion? Still, no matter how curious she was she didn't get to peak whose riding inside. Of course, she could've asked but that kind of powerplay often leave a bitter taste in her mouth so she stayed still.
