The morning sun streamed through the windows, painting the room in a warm, golden light.
Silver stirred in her bed, stretching her limbs gingerly. The aches and pains from the fever were still present, but they were duller, more manageable. It might be because she was exhausted. She can hardly tell since a lot of stuff has happened.
The confrontation with the Duchess had taken a toll on her emotion, perhaps it's stress, but somehow a sense of resolve had settled within her. At least, she tried to fight back. In her previous life, she can barely do that.
She had made her move, and now she had to be prepared for the consequences. Just the thought alone make her exhausted. Staying alive is not an easy task.
Natasha entered the room, her face etched with concern. "Your Highness, you're awake! How are you feeling?"
"I feel better, Natasha," Silver replied, managing a small smile. "Much much better, thank you." It's hasn't been that long but she felt like she missed her maids a lot.
