Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 The Birth Of Vibe Girl, Inhuman Gordon

Inside HYDRA's base, Allens watched the events in Puerto Rico unfold with a calm, flat gaze. His right hand tapped lightly on the table, the rhythmic sound echoing through the command room.

When he saw Skye jump into the underground base, a playful smile appeared in his eyes. He knew that once Skye entered, she would undergo her metamorphosis and awaken as Quake.

But Allens wasn't in a hurry. He needed Skye, transformed into Quake, to serve as bait. The Inhumans would not be able to resist.

For over ten days, Allens had remained in HYDRA's base, but Raina had already carried out his instructions. Now, rumors spread that Raina had awakened her Inhuman gene and gained the power to predict the future. News like that, Allens was certain, would draw the Inhumans out.

Just as he expected, after Skye entered the base, Raina ordered HYDRA soldiers to activate the obelisk. Skye underwent Terrigenesis, transforming into Quake. Tripp and several HYDRA soldiers, however, were consumed by the Terrigen mist, turned to stone, and shattered into pieces.

Watching her teammate die before her eyes, Skye was wracked with regret and panic. Unable to control her new powers, vibrations exploded outward. The entire base collapsed.

Far away, in a hidden place known only as Afterlife, the Inhumans' sanctuary, the scenery was serene and beautiful—like a paradise. Since World War II, every new Inhuman had been brought here after awakening.

Inside an antique room, a man without eyes suddenly stood, his face filled with excitement.

"Very well… a new one has been born."

This was Gordon, an Inhuman who had awakened more than twenty years ago, losing his eyes in the process. Using his teleportation powers, he had sensed every newly awakened Inhuman over the years.

The door opened. A woman in casual clothing entered, accompanied by an elderly butler. Though the woman looked no older than her twenties, both the butler and Gordon bowed with respect.

"Jiaying, you're here," Gordon said reverently.

Though her face bore faint cracks, Jiaying's beauty and commanding presence were undeniable. Only the Inhumans of Afterlife knew the truth—she had survived World War II and was their true leader.

"Gordon, another of our people has awakened," Jiaying said, her voice steady but commanding.

"Yes," Gordon replied eagerly. "The power I felt… it is extraordinary."

"Then we must bring them home," Jiaying said, her expression firm. Every new Inhuman was vital to their people.

As Gordon prepared to teleport, Jiaying raised her hand to stop him.

"Wait. According to my information, Calvin Zabo's adopted daughter, Raina, has also awakened. Confirm her powers first. If she truly has, bring her to Afterlife."

Gordon bowed his head. "As you command."

Jiaying turned and left the room. Gordon stood alone for a moment, then whispered, "Raina… I've found you." His body shimmered into a blue light curtain, vanishing from sight.

A circular shimmer of blue light appeared in HYDRA's base. Gordon materialized inside. Within seconds, HYDRA soldiers surrounded him.

"You finally came," Raina said, stepping out from behind them. Her eyes shone with excitement, her face lit with fanatic devotion.

"Raina? You knew I'd come?" Gordon asked calmly. The soldiers didn't concern him—his teleportation made them irrelevant.

"I saw it," Raina replied, her voice trembling with passion. "A place filled with our people… I've been waiting for you. Waiting for my destiny."

Her eyes glowed as she described what she had seen in her visions. "I saw Lincoln, who commands lightning… Alisha, who can duplicate herself… Joey, who can melt metal…"

Hearing this, Gordon smiled. Her words confirmed it—Raina truly had awakened her Inhuman powers.

"Do you want to see our home?" Gordon asked, extending his hand.

"Of course. This is my fate." Raina stepped forward, her eyes glittering. She placed her hand in his.

With a flash of blue light, both of them vanished. The HYDRA soldiers who had surrounded Gordon shimmered like phantoms and dissolved into nothingness.

"Well done," a voice said.

The illusion melted away, revealing Allens' figure. A cold smile crossed his face. In his hand, a small device displayed a red signal dot.

"Prepare to move out."

He pressed his fingers to his earpiece, his command echoing through HYDRA's comm network.

"Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh."

Three Quinjets roared out of the base. Allens stepped outside, and one jet lowered before him.

"Let's go," he murmured, eyes gleaming with ambition. "The Inhumans… will all fall into my hands."

The steady ticking echoed once more in his mind.
