Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Furious, Mad Titan

In 2023, Thanos, the Mad Titan from Titan, stood alone in the ruins, his eyes cold and merciless. Before him were the Avengers.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Avengers' forces clashed with Thanos' Dark Legion. Wakanda's Vibranium energy cannons collided with cosmic blasters, filling the battlefield with deafening roars.

"Thanos, this time, I will not fail!"

Lightning surged around Thor's body. Stormbreaker in his right hand radiated endless light, while Mjolnir in his left crackled with thunder. With a roar, Thor swung both weapons down toward Thanos.

Clang! Clang!

Two strikes were blocked by Thanos' massive double-edged blade, the Double-Edged Sword of Judgment. The weapon gleamed with a deadly light as Thanos swung it single-handedly, so fast that the blade's path became invisible.

Bang!

Thanos twisted, his left hand seizing Mjolnir mid-swing. With overwhelming strength, he ripped it from Thor's grasp and hurled it backward.

Boom!

Captain America, Steve Rogers, was struck by the flying hammer and thrown hard against a rock. The impact left him half-crippled, struggling to stand.

Peng! Peng!

Thor was kicked aside, and Thanos' sword slashed furiously. Tony Stark's particle beams hammered the blade but were completely deflected.

"I'm done holding back," Thanos growled.

His eyes burned with fury. At last, the Titan revealed his savage nature.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Even while barely moving, Thanos had already overwhelmed the Avengers. Now, enraged, his speed turned terrifying. In a blur, his giant frame appeared before Iron Man.

Peng! Peng! Peng!

His sword slashed down again and again, battering Tony's bleeding-edge armor. The AI combat systems couldn't keep up.

Crack! Crack!

Within seconds, Iron Man's armor shattered, leaving his upper body exposed. Thanos kicked him away and immediately parried Captain America's strike, knocking Mjolnir from his hand. With both hands on his blade, Thanos brought it down in a devastating arc.

Crack!

The Vibranium shield splintered under the force, Earth's hardest metal shattering into fragments.

"Carol!" Rogers shouted desperately.

From above, a blazing golden light streaked across the sky, as dazzling as a fixed star. Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, in her Binary form, rocketed down and slammed her fist into Thanos, blasting him back dozens of meters.

"Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers," Allens muttered, recalling her transformation by the Space Stone. With his memory synchronization ability, he could clearly see how terrifying her power was.

But Thanos only sneered. "I'm not the future Thanos."

With a roar, he launched himself forward, his massive fist crashing into Captain Marvel.

Boom!

The shockwave hurled the Avengers back more than ten meters. Veins bulged across Thanos' muscular frame as he met Carol blow for blow, refusing to yield.

Shua! Shua! Shua!

Doctor Strange conjured the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, binding Thanos' arm.

"Magic?" Thanos scoffed. "Against absolute power? Worthless."

He ripped the chains apart with a flex of his arms, shattering them into fading crimson sparks.

"Ant-Man — Giant Mode!"

Scott Lang activated his suit, growing into a giant and slamming his foot down on Thanos. But the Titan caught it in both hands and, with monstrous strength, lifted and hurled him aside. Scott barely shrank back in time to avoid being crushed into the ground.

Above, Spider-Man swung in with his webbing, aiming to deliver Rogers' shield — but Thanos' massive hand caught his legs mid-air.

Boom!

He smashed Peter Parker into the ground like a ragdoll.

Star-Lord fired his elemental blasters in rapid succession, beams of energy streaking toward Thanos, but each one was deflected by the Titan's blade.

This wasn't the weary Thanos of the future. The Thanos from 2014 burned with raw fury. He didn't care for balance, mercy, or destiny.

"I don't care about your so-called 'plan.'" His voice thundered. "I will show you what mercy it was that my future self allowed you to live."

His gaze swept across the battlefield.

"Infinite Stones destroy Infinite Stones? Ridiculous. My future self lied. The Stones are the foundation of the universe. Even if the universe itself is destroyed, the Stones will remain."

His eyes fell upon Nebula. A rare flicker of pity crossed his face.

"The future me wasn't destroying them… he was sending me a message. Your little 'time heist' was doomed from the beginning."

Thanos raised his blade, facing the assembled Avengers alone. Despite their numbers, his expression was filled not with fear, but with scorn.
