"I am destiny."
"I am Iron Man."
In 2014, Allens used the shapeshifting ability of the Skrulls to transform into Thanos and synchronize with the memory of Thanos who traveled to the 2023 timeline.
He watched the Mad Titan slaughter everyone, chopping the Avengers like melons and vegetables, torturing them mercilessly in a bloody frenzy.
He tried again, but in the end, he still could not escape the power of the six Infinity Stones.
Iron Man, Tony Stark, sacrificed himself.
Thanos and his Dark Order Legion were all reduced to ashes.
The memory synchronization ended there, and Allens obtained Thanos' short-term memory. Finally, he found what he wanted. He combed through Thanos' memories for information about the Eternals.
As a member of Titan's Eternal race, Thanos not only possessed immense power but also retained endless knowledge in his mind. From Thanos' short-term memory, Allens glimpsed fragments of information about the destroyed Eternals.
Since he could only access Thanos' short-term memory, Allens learned only partial truths about the Eternal Clan.
The Eternal Clan, also known as the Eternal God Clan, stands at the apex of the universe.
In terms of potential, it surpasses even the Aesir of Asgard.
The Eternals were born millions of years ago.
According to Thanos' memory, his race faced near-extinction due to resource scarcity. At that time, Thanos had already earned the title of the Mad Titan. In his quest for destiny, he fought across the universe, only to return to Titan and find it in ruins, countless Eternals driven mad.
He personally slaughtered the surviving Eternals, simultaneously discovering his ultimate purpose: to randomly eliminate half of all life in the universe to balance resource consumption.
The Eternals' potential was terrifying, and it was no wonder Thanos was called the Mad Titan. From Thanos' memory, Allens only glimpsed traces of the Eternal race.
"Are the Eternals really destroyed in the Marvel Universe?"
Allens frowned. His interest in the Eternals was practical — his next plan required more than just super-soldier strength. Though superpowers were strong, his body needed to reach Thanos-level capability.
Swish.
Allens' body reverted to its original form, his eyes cold and calculating.
He glimpsed the future.
The Avengers still won, because in that timeline, they possessed the Infinity Gauntlet. Even facing Thanos, they triumphed.
This was why Allens did not travel directly to the future.
Without surpassing Thanos' power, appearing rashly before the Avengers would result in his defeat. He had to proceed cautiously, and future Avengers were not his immediate concern. His priority now was escaping this timeline.
As Allens synchronized Thanos' memory, a deep wormhole opened in Earth's orbit. From the distant universe, a cross-shaped spacecraft emerged.
"Colonel Rhodes has arrived in 2014 Earth orbit," a cold female voice announced.
Colonel Rhodes, War Machine, sitting at the helm, stood solemnly.
"2014 Earth? According to Doctor Strange, in this timeline, Allens will make SOKOVIA fall like a small planet colliding with Earth. Half of the planet could be destroyed."
Rhodes recalled the message from the future Avengers after traveling to Morag. Though confused, he trusted his allies.
"Damn quantum theory. It says traveling from the future to the past shouldn't alter history. So what the hell is Allens doing?" Rhodes muttered.
"Colonel Rhodes," Veronica, Tony Stark's AI from 2023, explained, "quantum theory belongs to Chaos. When the future travels to the past, the past becomes the future. Your actions in the past won't change history. However, Allens awakened early, and every move he makes affects quantum entanglement, embedding into the main timeline."
Rhodes was still baffled, his eyes blank.
"Okay, fine. I don't need to understand quantum theory. Just tell me what to do, Veronica."
He cut her off and glanced at SOKOVIA below. The city sparkled under its 150 million thrusters.
"Activate the Star Destroyer Cannon to prevent SOKOVIA from falling."
Veronica's tone became even colder. On the Kree spacecraft, the Star Destroyer Cannon began charging.
"Wait… you mean… destroy it? I get it." Rhodes realized what was meant. He pressed a button on his suit; the visor closed, and War Machine roared to life.
"Uh… seems like the Avengers might need a little help too."
Thermal scans appeared on Rhodes' visor, putting a smirk on his face. Veronica activated the receiving light. A dazzling glow enveloped the Avengers.
"What the hell? Are our alien neighbors visiting Earth?"
Trapped in the light, the Avengers' suits couldn't escape. Tony Stark's expression darkened, but he didn't lose his venomous wit.
"Thor, recognize the ship above you?"
Captain Rogers' voice was serious. Another alien ship had arrived. He recalled World War II, when humans alone faced war, now replaced by extraterrestrial intervention.
"The Kree Judgment Ship isn't heavily armed. It only has an Interstellar Star Destroyer Cannon and hundreds of particle beam cannons," Thor observed, calm despite being enveloped in guiding light.
"The name 'Star Destroyer Cannon' sounds like it can destroy a planet," Falcon Sam whispered, worry etched on his face.
"No," Thor replied lightly. "Even at full power, it can at most destroy a continent."
The Avengers' faces darkened beneath their armor.
"Damn…"
