Chapter 25 - The God of Plague

At such a rapid speed, if I didn't have superhuman intuition, I wouldn't have had time to react. When I rolled to the side, I saw a rat-human monster passing right over the spot where I had been standing.

Without any hesitation, I fired two fireballs to catch up with the monster, and two "-30" numbers flashed across its body.

The third fireball missed, and the monster suddenly vanished from my sight. I hurriedly tried to use my intuition to find its location, but it was too late. Suddenly, my back was bitten hard, and my entire body was carried away by the monster, flying out for over ten meters.

Absolutely not allowed to fail! In that instant, I unleashed all my potential, controlled my mind, and swung my silver sword with my right hand, while sending several fireballs with my left hand. The monster behind me seemed startled and hurriedly let go, flinging me down heavily. My face collided hard against a pillar.

Everything was surrounded by golden sparks, and I didn't know if there was any bleeding. I had never been hit by such a powerful impact force on my head before. If it were in reality, I would probably have fainted.

However, even in the game, I was definitely not enjoying myself. But now, there was no time to "enjoy" the pain. I gritted my teeth, restored my consciousness in the shortest time and used the healing spell and magic potion. Just as I finished, the monster bit my shoulder again. I roared loudly, swung my silver long sword, but it was a miss. The monster dodged again.

I've never encountered such a highly agile opponent! While I was using all my strength to wield the sword to protect my body, I used the detection spell to search for that faint shadow moving like lightning.

"'Plague God', infant stage, 27-level monster boss, HP 20,000, other details unknown."

From the battle just now, its agility was more than twice that of me. Its teeth attack could bite me 130 points of health each time, and it seemed that my wolf king leather armor was also bitten through by it, with its durability sharply reduced.

Its magic defense was also very high. You know, I was using the basic third-level fireball now, and I received 15 points of spirit force as a reward for sealing the Bull Head God, plus the 10% magic effect increase from the "Village Chief" long badge. When fighting normal monsters, it should have about 60% effect, but on this monster, it was reduced by half.

However, when I used the sword to strike it, he immediately dodged, indicating two things: first, the timid nature of the rat made him reluctant to take risks easily; second, his physical defense was not as high as his magic defense.

The Plague God mainly relied on that inertia-induced impact when moving quickly and attacking. As long as he didn't start to rush forward, his speed and strength should weaken.

I was analyzing when the Plague God transformed into light and shadow and rushed behind me. Although my side-swinging sword hit his back, he only lost 40 points of health. Although I made a dodge and wasn't bitten by the rat's teeth, I still lost 100 HP from his body.

Facing it head-on and taking the hit was completely hopeless. I immediately moved to the side of the pillar. The Plague God chased after me, and I quickly moved behind the pillar, while simultaneously swinging a sword at him, hitting his nose right in the middle. The noses of all animals seem to be the most vulnerable, and this time I inflicted 70 damage on him.

The Plague God was startled and ran about ten steps away, circling the pillar, finding my position, and coming towards me again. I repeated the same trick, moving my feet, going to the back of the pillar, leaving my long sword to strike him right in the nose.

Although the Plague God was so fast, he rushed about ten steps at a time, while I only needed to side-step one step to defuse his attack. And when he approached closely, to avoid hitting the pillar, he would temporarily lose focus, and my long sword would take the opportunity to hit him.

Such a simple and effective method made the Plague God keep losing, in no time, I had already slashed off nearly a thousand points of his health, while I was completely unharmed. However, if it were another player, he probably couldn't do so well. Unless he lost his sensitive senses and received compensation from the system in terms of intuition, otherwise, it would be very difficult for him to even notice the shadow of the Plague God, let alone react. However, the boss with the name "God" was not showing any particular irritation. Instead, a sinister glint flashed in his eyes.

The Plague God lunged again. Just as I had moved behind the pillar, my heart skipped a beat. "Danger!"

My instincts had never deceived me before. I almost instinctively leapt backward. Suddenly, a rat tail swung over from the other end of the pillar, making a loud thud, and the tail hit the pillar, sending debris flying.

The Plague God's attack missed, pausing for a moment. He lunged at me again, but I had already moved behind another pillar.

The pillars in the hall were the only obstacles and the only thing that could limit the speed advantage of the Plague God. Anyway, I had to rely on these pillars to fight.

I quickly checked the bag. Among the several shiny items I had picked up earlier, there was exactly a silver-level shield. I immediately took it out.

The Plague God's attack missed again. He paused for a moment, then lunged at me once more. But I had moved behind another pillar.

Quickly checking the bag, I found that among the several shiny items I had picked up earlier, there was exactly a silver-level shield. I immediately took it out.

The Plague God lunged again. I still used the old method of moving behind the pillar to draw my sword, but this time his dodge was successful.

Obviously, the Plague God was exerting his full strength this time, so he could dodge my sword. At the same time, the rat tail swung around the pillar and hit me, striking my shield. Through the shield, it only dealt 50 points of damage to me. While the Plague God was concentrating on the rat tail, I swung my silver sword again, hitting his nose.

At this point, the Plague God probably realized that my sword's power was nothing to be afraid of. He no longer used the clumsy method of retreating and circling. Instead, he engaged me in a "hide-and-seek" style chase around the pillars.

I was definitely not willing to experience the Plague God's sharp teeth. Therefore, I moved around the pillars, facing the rat's head, and stepped backward slowly. I had already given myself the "acceleration spell" and constantly cast the "strong wind spell" on the Plague God's face to slow his speed. However, the speed gap between us was still not small. But the Plague God didn't dare to fully pursue and bite me because my long sword was always pointed at his nose, ready to strike at any moment.

In this way, I fought back with my sword against the rat head, while using the shield to withstand the rat tail. Although the Plague God's teeth never bit me, I hit the rat head with one sword strike, and would get two hits from the rat tail from him.

Being able to fight against a 28-level high-damage boss like this alone was already a very successful tactic. Soon, I drained the Plague God of 3,000 points of health. Unfortunately, my medicine had finally run out at this point.

Since I was the one in the team responsible for cutting the corpses and didn't need to engage in close combat, I quickly transferred the blood medicine on my body to the tiger king and others. The blue medicine had almost run out. The battle just now, the healing spells and other spells had used up all the blue medicine.

Now, we had to take the risk of picking up the medicine dropped by the tiger king and others. And that golden long sword. If we could get it, my chances of victory would increase a little.

But with only thirty steps and only one pillar to provide cover in the middle, this was already enough for the Plague God to hit me countless times. Not only did he cause me to lose health by biting me, but he also carried me far away. If I hit the pillar and lost consciousness, I would surely die.

Could it be that, at this point, I really had to die regretfully like Tiger King and the clan leader? Absolutely not. I had to fight! I cast a healing spell with my last MP for myself, full health, 350 points, capable of withstanding the Plague God's three bites. I just hoped he would carry me in the direction I wanted.

The silver sword hit the Plague God's nose tip. Just as he shrank back, I was about to rush forward, but suddenly, a thought crossed my mind, and I shouted loudly: "Flying, come out!"

My little steed suddenly appeared in the hall, causing the Plague God to jump backward in surprise. I quickly jumped onto the horseback and said, "Drive!" Flying understood and flew towards the golden sword direction. One leap was eight steps away!

The Plague God merely retreated out of his timid nature, but immediately realized that this was just a horse without attacking power. Instantly, he rushed forward. The soaring running speed should have been beyond that of the Plague God. However, just now, without warming up and accelerating, I didn't manage to reach full speed when I passed the middle pillar. So, by the time I reached the other side, the wind behind my head had already reached me.

In such a critical moment, for all the efforts I had made, for the Tiger King, for the Chief, for all those who had sacrificed, what could I possibly be left holding onto? As I turned around and raised my shield, I shouted loudly: "Yan Gui, Armorize!"

In an instant, my silver shield suddenly underwent a strange change. Five-pointed hard masses began to rise on the shield, each one emitting a diamond-like luster. At the top of the shield, a ferocious face of a Yan Gui emerged.
