Chapter 29 - The Deity Race

Just as I was using my mind to detect the mark of the powerful being within me, a flash of white light appeared before my eyes, and suddenly I found myself in a strange white space. In front of me was a pool of water emitting white vapor.

A white-robed male angel appeared before me and said, "Are you the only one here? You must enter the 'Purification Pool' right now to wash away the germs on your body."

Without having time to think too much, I jumped into the pool and couldn't help asking, "What's going on? How did I end up here?"

The angel said, "The great hall where the Plague God resides was originally owned by all of our gods. Due to its invasion, we had to evacuate. In the hall, we have a giant teleportation array. According to the settings when we left, once the will of the Plague God disappears, the teleportation array will come into effect and can transport the divine beings or human lives within the hall out. This is to prevent the warriors who challenge the Plague God from being infected by the virus in the hall for too long and dying."

I was surprised, "You gods still fear these evil demons?"

The angel said calmly, "If it's only about power, the Plague God is not the opponent of our god race at all. However, we don't want to be contaminated by the virus he emits when he dies. It's like you humans don't want to touch dirty things with your own hands. That great hall is just a small residence of ours in the human world. It can be rebuilt in half a day, so there's no need to fight with him."

I was rather displeased in my heart. Although this angel didn't have a bad attitude towards me, how could I feel that we humans seemed so lowly in the eyes of these angels? They could wipe out the demons with a single move, and in the human world, it would cause such a huge disaster.

Recalling the angels I saw when I logged into the game, it seemed that the angel race was the master of this game?

I raised my head and asked, "Can I ask, what is the situation of the god race?"

The angel said, "The gods are the highest rulers of this world. According to the will of the Creator God, we can change any thing in this world. Under the Creator God, there are war gods, life gods, earth gods, sky gods, energy gods, element gods, and hundreds of other gods in charge of one thing, as well as countless mid-gods and countless lower gods. We and the god soldiers belong to the messengers of the gods."

I asked, "Then what about the Plague God and the Bull Head God?"

The angel frowned and said, "That's the evil energy aggregation produced by Baxter and the evil ** of the humans, which is the main cause of forming these evil demons. The stronger the human power, the more evil ** there will be, and these evil demons will become stronger. Therefore..."

The angel suddenly stopped speaking, and a disgusted expression appeared on his face.

My heart was stirred, and somehow an idea popped into my mind: Could it be that the gods are so afraid of the human power becoming stronger, breeding stronger evil demons, that they would disregard the lives of humans and let diseases, wars, and natural disasters consume human power?

I interrupted my own thought. I was really too fantastical. Who cares about all this? This game world is just a creation by programmers. These gods and demons, even my own body, are just a bunch of data.

However, I still felt uneasy in my heart. Unlike other players, the game world was almost everything to me. In other words, the gods decided my entire life. If they were in a bad mood, they could deprive me of everything at any time.

Determined to please these gods, I kept flattering the angel, but the angel only responded to me with a calm manner, unlike the angel I met when I logged into the game, who was very amiable.

However, after I emerged from the pool, the angel couldn't resist my sweet words and gave me a "Lightning Spell" and several beginner-level skills of the Light School, such as the "Blessing Spell" of the Priest.

I still wanted to stay a little longer and visit the place where the gods lived. The angel was already impatient, and with a wave of his hand, he sent me back to the human world.

The place where I landed was outside the Mischief Forest, which was also the outer perimeter of the Bull Head God's altar. Now all the monsters surrounding the altar have left and scattered everywhere. The horses that the Haza people left outside have been eaten by the monsters. There's nothing we can do about it. Ordinary NPCs don't have pet spaces. The mounts can only stay here.

I originally wanted to kill a few "Ming Meng" and take their skins back. But I didn't have any medicine on me, so I decided to hurry back to the Lost Village.

Calculating the time, since we left the Lost Village, it's been almost two days. I still have to go back and figure out a way to pay off the village's debts. But I have dozens of silver-level equipment, which should be able to be sold for several dozen gold coins. I'm not too worried anymore.

First, I returned to the Haza tribe, saw the chief's wife and son, and the families of other warriors. I really couldn't say a word.

If it weren't for us players proposing to seal the demon god, these Haza people would definitely choose to migrate to a distant place. These warriors wouldn't have died.

Sealing the demon god might be a great merit for everyone in the world, but it doesn't mean I have the right to ask these knights to sacrifice. Moreover, the original intention of accepting the mission was for the mission rewards. It can be said that the chief and others sacrificed for our own interests.

I don't know how to express my repentance to these Haza people in front of me, nor do I know how to compensate for the pain of losing their loved ones. And when the Haza people saw me coming back alone, saw the sheikh's outfit, they just stood in silence for a moment, then all fell to the ground and shouted: "Sheikh returns! Sheikh returns! Welcome the new chief back!"

I was regarded as the hero who eliminated the demon god by the Haza people, the hero who found the sheikh's outfit, and recognized the new chief's position. But I really couldn't get excited at all.

I even wanted to return the "Sheikh's Outfit" that players have always dreamed of to the Haza people, but my selfishness made me hold back. Deep down, I'm still a professional player.

Looking at the Haza people in front of me, except for the goldsmith Bihu and the chief's son Maik, most of them have no names and are low-intelligence NPCs. Their combat levels are all below twenty. I also have to take on the responsibility of being the chief.

At this time, the oldest member of the tribe took a long whip from the old chief's wife and gave it to me. At the moment I received the whip, the system message appeared: "You have become the chief of the Haza tribe, and the management window of the Haza tribe has been increased."

"Your 'House Construction Method' has been added with 'Tent Construction Method'."

"You have obtained 'String Instrument Performance Method', and you have obtained the sheet music for 'Shepherd's Song', 'Grassland Song', 'Prayer Melody', and 'Toasting Song'."

"Your 'Pasturing Skill' and 'Horse Riding Skill' have been upgraded by one level."

"You have learned 'Rockfall Skill'."

I took a deep breath, although the rewards were rich, the corresponding responsibility was also very heavy.

I thought for a while and shouted to my people: "Since I have become your chief, I will do my best to protect you and make you live a better life!"

After a pause: "Now we won't be attacked by monsters and plagues anymore. The horses will grow a lot, so I have decided to trade our horses with the outside world. Therefore, everyone choose some skilled riders and sheikh Bihu to come to the nearby Lost Village to sell the horses."

Then, I first arranged some strong herdsmen to keep fighting monsters and leveling up, the others continued to take care of the horses. I led several expert-level riders and the goldsmith Bihu to lead thousands of horses towards the Lost Village.

I rode ahead on the horse, followed by thousands of fine horses, listening to the earth-shaking thunderous sound like thousands of drums beating together, I was full of vigor and sang loudly: "The vast grassland also has muddy swamps, that mountainous ridge filled with a dance atmosphere, I don't know how to cross it..."

Just then, a cry of a wild goose came from the sky, followed by a clear melody, passing through the pounding of the horse hooves and penetrating my ears. I was startled as I looked up. Suddenly, a wild goose flew down rapidly from the sky. On the back of the goose was a young girl in green clothes playing the lute.
