After a few minutes of non-stop releasing Pokémon from their Poké Balls, my arms started becoming sore.
To avoid sore muscles in the morning, I asked Zeraora, Shinx, and Archen to help me with the ordeal.
I quickly explained to them how to open the Poké Balls by pressing the middle button once.
I understood that, when a Pokémon is inside the Poké Ball, one has two options.
The first one is to let the Poké Ball remain in its enlarged size, which gives more control to the Pokémon living inside the Poké Ball. The Pokémon can come out whenever it wants to without the trainer's permission.
On the other hand, when the trainer presses the middle button, the pokeball compresses to a small size, which doesn't cause any discomfort to the Pokémon inside, but at the same time, it gives limited control to the Pokémon living inside. The Pokémon cannot come outside on its own; the maximum it can do is to shake the Poké Ball from inside.
Anyway, now with the four of us, opening the locked Poke balls with our hands, paws, and claws, it became faster.
After spending about an hour just releasing Pokémon from their balls and freeing them, we were finished.
Although the number of Poké Balls to be released was huge, it wouldn't have taken more than twenty minutes for the four of us together, if not for the hundreds of Pokémon coming to thank us.
Most of them were Butterfree, a herd of Tauros, and Bufflolant. There were also some ghost-types like Gasly and Hunter, who wouldn't stop licking us.
After that ordeal, I had more than a hundred and twenty Poké Balls on me. I didn't know whether they were considered expensive in this world. But it was sure more than enough to last me a long time. The main problem was going to be how to carry these Poké Balls around.
Anyway, it was a problem for another day.
I quickly went on to the next problem, the caged Pokémons.
One of the two reasons I had left them for last was that all of the caged Pokémon were extremely rare and powerful, even in the anime and the games back in my world. If I were able to gain the trust of at least one Pokémon, it would be a big addition to my future firepower. It may be wrong to manipulate these already traumatized Pokémon, but from my limited experience in this world, I have already understood that this is no fantasy world, this is no place to enjoy life, but in this world, death is waiting for you and your Pokémon just around the corner.
Moreover, the other reason was that I had no idea how these cages opened; these cages looked highly complicated and sophisticated. I am sure these cages are the top of the line. However, the problem was how I would open these cages.
There was nothing sticking out that seemed like it would help. No electrical wires were powering the electromagnetic force field, which seemed odd to me, because I wasn't sure how the metallic rods were keeping up with the force fields without any electricity.
There were no panels or consoles like those in video games, where you need to input a pin or password or show some kind of ID for authentication.
But there was nothing here; I couldn't figure out a way to open the cages.
The Pokémon inside the cages that were sceptical also seemed to understand my dilemma. Their nervous faces clearly told me that they were placing all their hopes in me.
I was in a state of loss. No matter how hard I observed each of the four cages, nothing seemed as if it could help me open the cage.
I took a step back, racking my brain for what it could be.
How were the hunters able to open the cages?
How are the metallic rods keeping the electromagnetic force field active without any consumption of electricity?
That's when the Arcanine inside one of the cages started shouting towards me,
"Arcanine"
"Arca Arcanine"
As expected, I had no idea what it said. Not only was it a wild Pokémon, but it was also using an expression where it seemed like it could be anything.
As I turned towards Zeraora, it seemed like it understood what the Arcanine wanted to say. Zeraora then turned towards me to explain, but for some reason, even I could not understand what he was trying to say.
"Zera Zera Zera Zeraora Zera Zerarora Ora Ora."
I could understand the overall fact that there was some sort of Panel in front of the cages, but I could not see anything.
Zeraora started pointing to a place in the magnetic bars of the Arcanine.
As I touched the place where Zeraora pointed at, a series of numbers came up in a bar. I was beyond shocked. This type of technology did not exist in my world. Did that mean that this world was more advanced than my world?
But the problem remained; even if I knew where the panel was, I didn't know the code required. It could be any possible number. I didn't even know how small or big the code was.
Was the code the same for all the cages, or were they different for each cage?
After voicing this out to the Pokémon, I again started thinking.
This time, even the Pokémon fell into a deep-thinking state.
Then, the Huisian Zorua in the cage started hitting against the metallic bars. Although it was of no use. I could tell that most of the attacks were very weak, maybe because the Pokémon themselves were very pale and had not been fed properly.
"Zoru ZORUA"
Just as it said that, something in Zeraora's brain clicked.
He also started attacking the same metallic bar from outside. He used Plasma Fists repeatedly, then went on to Close Combat, combining it with Electric Punch.
I was too shocked to utter a single word.
That's right, in the games, Pokémon could not use two moves at the same time. I had also limited my thinking to that capacity because, in the games, we could not combine two moves, but this is the real world. If a Pokémon knows how to use a particular move, why could it not combine said move with another move?
This revelation brought me joy. This had opened a completely new door of possibilities to me. This would also mean that a Pokémon is not limited to learn only four moves. They can learn as much as they can. As I was smiling, thinking of the road that lay ahead. The continuous banging sound brought me back.
