Chapter 21 - "The Death of Babidi"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Babidi's face twisted with rage. "No! My face is perfectly normal. Green is natural. And you're just a lowly wizard—you're nothing to boast about!"

"You dare anger me? You've got some nerve!"

"I'll make Majin Buu kill you in the most excruciating way possible."

Piccolo didn't flinch. "Nice try, but forget it. You'll never control Buu again."

"Even if I can't beat Buu, killing you is easy!" Babidi raised his right arm, unleashing a surge of magic that wrapped Piccolo in a crackling white mass.

Piccolo immediately powered up, blasting it apart, and rushed at Babidi again.

Panicked, Babidi raised his shield, clashing with Piccolo's palm. Strange colors of energy rippled through the air.

"You fool! If you kill me, no one will be able to seal Majin Buu! He'll destroy the world!"

Piccolo's energy flowed through his arms, rippling outward. "Even if you don't die, you'll end up like that anyway!"

With terrifying strength, Piccolo's hand ripped through Babidi's shield, tearing him in half. Babidi tumbled into a deep pit, gritting his teeth. "I… the one destined to be king of the world… killed by such a minor character?"

Dragon Ball World

The Supreme Kai sat on the ground, staring at the aftermath. "It's over… Babidi's dead. No one can seal Majin Buu now."

Others might not fully grasp what Buu's existence meant, but the Supreme Kai had lived through the hopelessness before. Even his creator, Bibidi, had lost control of the monster, leaving sealing as the only option.

"This world… is doomed. Damn it!"

He slammed his fist into the ground, tears of frustration streaking down his face.

On Namek, Bulma stared at the screen in shock."Vegeta?!

That's really him… but why's he helping Earth? Wasn't he the one who wanted to destroy it? He even killed Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu!"

She frowned, trying to process it."But in the future… it looks like he changed."

"The old Vegeta would never fight for Earth. And now—he's throwing his life on the line to protect it. Just now, he was furious over Gohan's death… it's unbelievable."

Her eyes narrowed suddenly."Wait… that boy, Trunks. Why does he look so familiar? I've seen that face somewhere before!"

On King Kai's planet, Tien was practically bouncing with excitement."Nice one, Piccolo!"

Yamcha and Chiaotzu clapped and cheered."That disgusting wizard—summoning a monster like that. Serves him right!"

But King Kai's face stayed grim."For the future to face an enemy like this… even the Supreme Kai dead… Goku, where the hell are you?"

Meanwhile, in the One Piece world…

Whitebeard, the so-called strongest man alive, was covered in blood. His voice was heavy."Majin Buu… Vegeta… those guys are on another level. I can't beat them."

His division commanders looked at him in disbelief."Dad, what are you talking about? You're the strongest man in the world. There's no way you could lose!"

Ace grinned wide."Yeah, Pops. You're invincible—there's no way anyone could take you down!"

Whitebeard laughed along with them, his booming voice shaking the air. But deep down, he knew the truth—against the monsters on that screen, even he was powerless.

Piccolo spat into the pit where Babidi had fallen.

But suddenly, the ground trembled violently. From beneath the rubble, a terrifying energy burst skyward.

Dust and debris swirled as Majin Buu clawed his way free."Who… who did this to me?!" he roared.

Vegeta glanced up at Piccolo in the air, then down at Trunks beside him.

"Trunks… take good care of your mother, Bulma."

At the mention of Bulma, a faint smile crossed his face.

Trunks blinked, confused."Dad, what are you talking about? Why are you saying it like that?"

Vegeta's eyes never left Buu."You two need to get far away. I'll fight Majin Buu alone."

Trunks clenched his fists."No way! We'll fight with you. If you go in alone, you'll die. But if it's the three of us together, we can win! Right, Goten?"

Goten nodded fiercely."Yeah! We're strong enough!"

Vegeta muttered under his breath."It's useless. Numbers won't change the outcome."

But the boys refused to listen, insisting they could fight.

Finally, Vegeta's voice softened."Trunks… all this time, I've never once held you."

Trunks froze."Dad? What's with you? Don't say stuff like that, it's embarrassing!"

But Vegeta pulled him into his arms anyway.

Time itself seemed to pause. He held his son tightly, gazing at him with rare tenderness."Take care of yourself, Trunks."

Then, with a sharp chop to the neck, Trunks went limp in his father's arms.

"Trunks!" Goten cried, running forward. He glared up at Vegeta, furious."Uncle Vegeta, why?! Why'd you knock him out?!"

Before he could move, Vegeta struck him too—just enough force to drop him unconscious and revert him back to normal.

Piccolo landed nearby, his eyes flicking between Vegeta and the steadily approaching Majin Buu.

Buu's voice thundered."Who was it?! Who knocked me away?!"

"Take them and get as far as you can," Vegeta ordered.

Piccolo lifted the two boys under his arms, studying Vegeta's face."You're planning to die with him, aren't you?"

Vegeta didn't answer the question. Instead, his voice dropped low."Tell me… when I die, will I be able to see Kakarot in the other world?"

Piccolo hesitated, then said bluntly,"There's no point sugarcoating it. No, you won't. You've killed too many innocent people. When you die, your body won't remain. Your soul will be sent to a different place than Goku's. Your memories will be erased, and you'll be given a new life."

A small smile curved on Vegeta's lips."I see. What a shame. …Alright then. Go. Quickly."

Majin Buu raised his right hand, sneering."You're not going anywhere!"

But Vegeta stepped forward, his voice hard and sharp."Hold it, Majin Buu! Your fight is with me. If you want to kill them, you'll have to get through me first, you ugly balloon!"

Dragon Ball World – Planet Namek

"Vegeta… he's going to sacrifice himself, taking Majin Buu down with him!" Goku's face was filled with disbelief.

Krillin muttered, "When did Vegeta change so much? He's actually willing to give up his life for Earth…"

Frieza sneered, his voice dripping with mockery. "Hah! That disgusting bastard. Pretending to be noble at the very end when he's spent his whole life as a villain."

"You don't know what happens in the future, Frieza," Goku shot back. "So don't run your mouth. For all you know, even you might change someday."

"Impossible!" Frieza roared. "I'm the Emperor of Evil! I'd never help you pathetic fools. Keep dreaming!"

Krillin sighed. "Yeah, Goku… someone like Frieza could never change. Vegeta isn't like him."

But who could truly say what the future holds?

"..."
