An Jian followed behind Detective Cheng and as they passed through the gate they could start to see what was happening in the compound. To their surprise around 20 men were lined up doing choreograph dances as a group, each with their own slick haircut, some dyed, red, purple, blond, or blue and each had there own purple and black themed stylish outfits. Detective Cheng was confused, did Chum Li gang turn into a idol trainee camp? An Jian didn't know what she was feeling but she blushed a little seeing all of them so in sync, moving their bodies rhythmically to music she had never heard before but somehow sounded pleasing. The members dancing then noticed the strange beautiful cosplayer girl blushing in front of them and as the dance moves coming up would be to point seductively in front, they all pointed to An Jian as if seductively asking her to come join them with their hips still rhythmically swaying side to side. Detective Cheng turned to look at An Jian's red face, as he too notice the entire dance team was now dancing for one person, the girl with the red face beside him.
The man who was in charge of the orientation then said "teamwork, athleticism, you see Shang Min, the big boy over there, he use to be 30lb overweight , now look at him, what a stud", he then walked over to the amplifier and turned up the music so the bass was hitting hard rumbling through their bodies, and he started to dance with the dance team in perfect sync. Even the 8 recruits including Detective Cheng and An Jian, couldn't help but start to bob their heads rhythmically with the bass drop.
The man then looked at the recruits and yelled "that's right, that's right, feel that aura, feel it, feel it"
An Jian finally had to look away looking down at her feet not exactly sure what she was feeling.
The music finally ended and the man said "come on lets go" and lead the new recruits pass the grass field to a large warehouse.
As the doors open, the sounds of weights being lifted, bags being punched suddenly settle to a silence as the existing members were carefully eyeing the new recruits.
The man leading the orientation then looked at the new recruits and said "this is where the fun starts" pointing to the MMA style caged arena in the center of the warehouse.
As he lead the recruits to the caged arena, the Chum Li gang members made way for them creating a path of intimidating stares up to the cage. However some of the stares would soften or turned into confusion once they saw An Jian in her black amour.
The orientation leader then turn to the recruits "Time to test your combat skills, don't worry, you don't need to win but we do want to see that you have some heart"
He then pointed to Detective Cheng, and to another recruit beside An Jian. This man was average height and quite skinny, while Detective Cheng was tall and fit.
Detective Cheng took off his shirt revealing his athletic body and six pack. This was the reason he normally arrived at the police station earlier than his starting time, he was waking up early everyday to workout before the gym got crowded.
An Jian face turned a little red, she was not sure why she was feeling like this as she had seen countless shirtless men in her army.
Another older gang member who was the acting referee, asked Detective Cheng if he had any fight training, the detective answered "I used to do some boxing and MMA", then he looked at the skinny recruit and asked him if he had any training. The man shook his head as to answer no and looked quite nervous swallowing looking at the imposing athletic body of Detective Cheng.
The referee then got them separated and yelled "Fight"
Detective Cheng looking at the inexperience man with sympathetic eyes, quickly closed the gap, circled behind him and wrapped his arm around the inexperience man neck. The crowd watch as the inexperience man's skinny malnourished arms pull pathetically at Detective Cheng's before passing out shortly after.
Detective Cheng about to walk out of the arena was told to stay, and then the orientation leader pointed to a taller muscular recruit and told him to enter the ring as they helped out the skinny man who was dazed but now awake.
The orientation leader than looked at Detective Cheng and said "Not bad but we would like to see more"
This new challenger recruit didn't look like a pushover and had an aura of a fighter. The referee then asked if he had any fight experience and he answered "Only on the streets" and stared back at Detective Cheng confidently.
"Fight"
The fight started and as expected the other man was not a pushover, both, measuring each other out, dodging and striking evenly. However Detective Cheng suddenly faked a punch and sprawl forward lifting up the man and slamming him onto the arena floor. As they wrestled on the ground Detective Cheng got a hold of the other man's arm and quickly wrapped his legs around the mans neck and stomach for an arm bar. The man tapped and Detective Cheng quickly released.
An Jian thought to herself, that was a pretty slick move for fighting without using internal power. One would normally use internal power to make their joints and limbs as hard as steel almost impossible to bend, but using the body like this to create leverage was quite tactically smart if fighting without internal power. She was impressed by Detective Cheng's fighting capability.
As the loser of the last round was stepping out, the orientation leader told Detective Cheng to stay again, and then pointed to An Jian.
