After his teacher successfully improved the new dual core array using both arcane and fire energies, Leylin began his daily practice further improving his magical energy.
As the saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Leylin relaxed his mind and decided to continue working hard.
A new day dawned, and Leylin emerged from the inn. The sun was shining brightly, and the warm air stirred Leylin's sleepiness.
He was very sleepy, but he still had work to do. Yesterday, Lirath had told him that Sylvanas had taken care of the dragonhawk matter for him.
Today, they were heading to Dawnstar Village southeast of Farstrider Retreat, it is a specific refuge for breeding and training them for dragonhawk riders.
The journey wasn't far, and Leylin arrived on time in half an hour. Dawnstar Village was in the southeastern part of Eversong Woods.
Standing at the base of the tower were two Spellbreaker mages wielding Spellbreaker Blades, serving as guards.
Sylvanas had already been standing there, flanked by two elves. There was a beautiful young female elf, and a male elf in red mail.
Sylvanas beckoned to Leylin, who stepped forward.
"Bring the dragonhawk to him." Sylvanas waved, and the male elf beside her led a dragonhawk from the fence.
"Look at this impressive little creature." the elf brought it closer, the dragonhawk proudly puffed out its forehead and cried out loudly.
Seeing that this dragonhawk could be his in a moment, Leylin felt a surge of excitement. Thinking that he had yet to soar in this world, Leylin was eager to take the reins from the elf.
Sylvanas said, "This is a dragonhawk selected from the new batch of dragonhawk riders. It's not a qualified mount for a dragonhawk rider, but it's not bad in every way."
Leylin's excitement dropped, and he asked, "Is this considered leftover?"
Sylvanas looked at him coldly, "If you don't want it, I can immediately send it back to the dragonhawk training base."
Both are Windrunners but how could Alleria be so different from the elf before him? The awkward atmosphere immediately caught the attention of the male elf nearby.
He smiled and said, "Your name is Leylin, right? A human student of Grand Magister Belo'vir?"
Leylin nodded, knowing the elf was trying to lighten the mood.
"To be honest, this is a dragonhawk the Ranger General personally selected for you. It's a dragonhawk mount for a Dragonhawk Rider, and you can't get one without formal certification. A dragonhawk like this is already quite good." the elf explained.
Hearing this, Leylin wanted to slap himself. He was just a human outsider, and yet he acted so arrogantly. Wasn't that just making things awkward for her?
"You talk too much, Lor'themar!" Sylvanas's tone was stern, with a hint of tension in it.
Lor'themar Theron playfully shook his head, gesturing nonchalantly. He'd heard such reprimands too often.
Leylin stared at her for a few moments, then apologized earnestly, "I'm sorry, my ignorance has caused trouble for everyone."
Wasn't that kind of apology a bit too much? Sylvanas studied Leylin from the corner of her eye.
Leylin's face was solemn and filled with guilt, making Sylvanas uneasy.
"It's alright," the usually quiet and aloof Windrunner said with a touch of tenderness.
Noticing her surprise, Leylin promptly pulled a piece of magic seal from his magic bag.
"This is for you, as a token of my gratitude." Leylin's smile was like the sunny boy next door, as if enshrouded in the light of the Sunwell.
The Ranger General instinctively glared at Leylin, her fingers trembling a few times before clenching her fists. "Didn't I tell you I don't like these things? You'd better give the gold to Miss Seraphina as soon as possible. She's the dragonhawk sales manager here."
Leylin said nothing, knowing Sylvanas's look wouldn't deceive him.
While handing the gold to Miss Seraphina, Leylin found a blind spot and quietly cast a tiny spell on the magic seal. It was a trick he'd learned yesterday, called [Levitate].
The magic seal floated behind him, where only Sylvanas could see it.
One hundred gold coins was still a bit pricey, but compared to the materials needed to craft arcane constructs, it pales in comparison. After his previous experience of heavy bleeding, Leylin had become somewhat immune to the urge to spend money.
As he handed over the gold coins, a faint flow of magic elicited a faint smile from Leylin.
As if sensing the human's smile, the Ranger General behind him paused for a moment. Then, quickly, she put away the magic paper with the levitation spell, before she could even make out the lines and shadows on it.
Her second in command was here, and she was a Ranger General. She preferred not to do unnecessary things.
"Can I leave this little creature with you for now? I'll come back to pick it up when I need to travel," Leylin said politely.
"No problem, just a ten-gold fee." Miss Seraphina handed Leylin a receipt, completing the transfer of the dragonhawk mount.
Leylin longed to ride the little creature right now and enjoy the feeling of soaring, but he had some classes in the afternoon and needed to finish his studies.
Turning to glance at Sylvanas, the Ranger General showed no emotion, still looking at Leylin coldly.
Before he could speak, Sylvanas said, "My sister has a rapid-fire course today, so you don't have to wait for her this afternoon."
"Okay, let her train well. I heard she'll be participating in some troll hunting missions in a few days."
"It's good that you understand. Try not to look for her these few days. I don't want my sister to make a mistake at the critical moment of the mission." Sylvanas warned Leylin.
Without saying anything else, Leylin just nodded and left Dawnstar Village and is nearing Silvermoon City.
When he reached the fork in the road ahead, Leylin saw a team of elves. They hurried towards Silvermoon City.
They were moving so fast that Leylin barely caught a glimpse of information. The elf's face, which should have been white, was dyed dark green for some reason.
His expression was very painful, and he must have been seriously injured. After a few steps, Lor'themar Theron ran over on a red hawkstrider.
"You saw it too?"
"Well, what happened?"
Lor'themar Theron said angrily with a solemn face: "Damn trolls, can't you just be quiet for a while?"
