Leylin's routine seemed to transport him back to his familiar student days.
In the mornings, he would study at the Falthrien Academy, and in the afternoons, he would absorb knowledge from magic books and work on magical construct techniques in the Mage's Tower.
A week passed quickly, and his younger sister hadn't come to see him in those seven days. Ranger training were demanding, and Leylin didn't want to bother her. Just like in Malden's Orchard, Leylin was alone.
Leylin sat upright on a bench, his left-hand gathering fire magic energy. Over the course of a week, the proficiency of his fire magic had grown more intense.
This shift in magical energy gave Leylin confidence. He decided to try the unmatched magic spells recorded in the magic notebook given to him by Grand Magister Belo'vir.
The magic runes and energy-distributing arrays for these three spells—[Flamestrike], [Alter Time], and [Blast Wave]—were clearly documented in the notebook.
Unlike other mage spells, two out of these three spells required the construction of a magic array before they could be cast. In other words, these two spells are separate from ordinary magic.
Carefully observing and memorizing the magic runes required to activate the spells, Leylin attempted to draw a magic circle on his hand using fire magic energy.
This period of study had deepened Leylin's understanding and perception of magic. He could now comprehend and explain even slightly complex magical theories.
The composition of this magic circle was complex, yet Leylin was able to analyze it based on his own understanding. And he did so with exquisite precision.
The more magical knowledge he gained, the clearer and more flexible his mind became with [Mastery of Magic]. Any knowledge he had seen and understood could be extracted from his brain, with an efficiency even more terrifying than that of a machine.
"Relying on fusion and compression to detonate the accumulated magical energy within the runes, and then trigger an explosion, doesn't seem difficult."
With sufficient magical energy to support him, Leylin began to casting his first spell [Flamestrike].
A raging pillar of fire bursted within an large area. The temperature of the fire was higher than most fire spells aside from [Pyroblast] and [Living Bomb].
A large crater was formed after the flames died down. No wonder its part of Kael'thas skills in the game.
It would have been even better if it was the phoenix spell. Leylin could just then summon his own phoenix as his mount.
But you got to make do with what you got. Maybe in the future sign ins, Leylin could be lucky and get the phoenix mount.
He was truly a master of both disciplines; truly, this was the magical memorandum of Grand Magister Belo'vir.
Next, Leylin tried casting [Alter Time] and walked forward a bit. Within a few seconds he returned back to his previous location.
Though he has enough comprehensions with complex runes, time runes are in a different category. Who knows, tinkering with time always has accidents.
Lastly, Leylin tried unleashing the last spell [Blast Wave], gathering a lot of magical energy within his surroundings and causing a large explosion around him. It caused even more destruction than [Flamestrike] and even a larger area of effect.
The entire magical process was flawless, his mastery over fire magic functioning perfectly harmoniously. Leylin then processed and compared both fire spells, even tried raising its temperature higher to make it even more destructive.
Leylin quietly thought of a certain character in the ninja world with his philosophy on art.
In the training grounds, Leylin stood confidently, his eyes blazing with focus and determination. He practiced casting his both [Flamestrike] and [Blast Wave]—each time pushing the boundaries of his power. With every unleashing, the air grew thick with heat and the ground trembled beneath his feet.
At first, the spells were formidable, but with relentless repetition, they became more than mere attacks—they evolved into unstoppable forces. The flames of his [Flamestrike] grew brighter and hotter, devouring everything in their path with an insatiable hunger.
His [Blast Wave] expanded outward, shattering stone, uprooting trees, and causing shockwaves that rippled through the earth.
Each time Leylin cast these spells, their destructive power intensified. Fire roared with a ferocity that scarred the landscape, and the shockwaves shattered the ground, tearing apart the very fabric of the training area.
The once pristine field transformed into a chaotic wasteland—a scorched, cratered expanse of scorched earth and twisted debris.
Despite the destruction, Leylin remained undeterred. Every explosion and burst of flame were a lesson, a step closer to mastery. His body moved instinctively, adjusting and refining his technique, channeling arcane energy with precision.
The air around him shimmered with residual heat, and the sky was often filled with swirling smoke and sparks. The training area, now a vast and barren battleground, stood as a testament to his relentless pursuit of power.
It was a place of chaos, but within that chaos lay the promise of ultimate strength.
For the last time, Leylin tried to cast [Flamestrike] but not like how mages typically cast. But with a snap of his finger, a large pillar of flames erupted from the ground. Temperature rose even higher than his previous casts and more so even a much larger area of effect.
What would happen if multicast was even added together with this spell? How large would its destruction be? Leylin quietly pondered.
"I'm so thoughtful." Leylin murmured. Choosing the most inconspicuous training grounds and the farthest one from the academy. The sound of the explosion might not be heard by most students and teachers.
Though some who are sensitive to magic might notice but since it is far, they would probably just think of it as practicing spells. Not knowing the destruction, it caused.
After checking and sensing whether there were no people close by, Leylin used his [Bending Arts] specifically earth bending, he hurriedly tried to fix the damage he caused from practicing his explosive arts.
It took him quite some time since the damage done by his spells really were large. Now the training ground looked good as new, like nothing ever happened at all.
Leylin slowly took his time to return back to the mage tower.
