Ruby didn't realize how long she had been sleeping or what the time was, when she fluttered her eyes open.
As her blurry vision slowly adjusted to the soft light in the room, she couldn't help but wonder if she was in an exquisite five-star restaurant due to the blend of aroma assaulting her nostrils.
She yawned softly as she turned her head to the side, expecting to see Elena. But her eyes landed on the most mesmerising blue eyes, which seemed to reflect a lighter shade every time he smiled.
"Kai!" She murmured, surprised to see him seated by the bedside.
"Hey, beautiful." Kai's voice was as soft and smooth as velvet. And his touch was like a healing balm as he gently stroked her right arm. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I have been sleeping for an entire century," Ruby replied with a smile, her heart throbbing softly against her chest.
Kai chuckled at her response. "Rest is good especially in your condition."
