Nerina POV
I stood frozen as he smirked at me, revealing his fang. Tears streamed down my face as he approached, his hands gripping my neck. I shivered at his touch, but that didn't deter him; he continued his advance. All I wanted was to plead with him to let me go, but I knew him too well—he wouldn't.
"When I first laid eyes on you at the state, so young, beautiful, and incredibly alluring, I knew I wanted you. I intended to keep you until I broke you hard enough, but I realized I had been going easy on you. Now you're entangled with wolves, and you're aware that the supernatural world exists; there's no point in hiding anything anymore."
"Please, they kidnapped me! I'm telling the truth, please!" I begged, closing my eyes in panic under his intense gaze.
"I'm going to enjoy…" he began, but suddenly a howl echoed across the field—a wolf's howl from somewhere nearby. My eyes flew open, and Ronan froze, turning to scan the surroundings.
