Chapter 135: Four Heavenly Kings, Too Weak to Withstand a Single Blow

Dozens of Light Arrows were fired as an opening move, giving Lattland no chance to react.

On the other hand, although Lattland had indeed been fooled by Kurtz, his demonic instincts prompted him to react immediately to the sneak attack.

However, this man's attack was too insidious and too fast.

In haste, Lattland could only cast petrification magic on his body, attempting to endure the attack with his physique.

The result was obvious: he was directly knocked flying by Kurtz's Light Arrow, rolling several times on the ground before coming to a stop. Dust and volcanic grit clung to his pale skin.

"Despicable human!" Lattland cursed angrily, wiping dark blood from the corner of his mouth.

Kurtz's attack had caused him significant injuries, but thankfully, it didn't affect his ability to cast magic.

He raised his head, and his eyes suddenly erupted with dazzling grayish-yellow light.

Clearly, this was his petrification magic.

Two grayish-yellow beams, like lightning, shot out one towards Kurtz, and the other towards Serie, who was about to cast a spell.

He was actually aiming to deal with both of them simultaneously.

Although Kurtz's sneak attack was sudden for Serie, their long-standing tacit understanding allowed her to react quickly, immediately raising a magic shield for both of them. The barrier shimmered with golden light.

However, Serie hadn't expected to be a target of the attack, and moreover, the petrifying ability contained within this beam was extremely strange, able to ignore some of her magical defenses.

The beam quickly penetrated the magic shield she raised, but the cost was evident: the beam, originally as thick as an arm, was reduced to the size of a finger.

Serie also hadn't expected her magic shield to be penetrated by the magic, and for a moment, she didn't react, as the grayish-yellow light instantly enveloped her lower leg.

An extremely cold sensation, as if life was being drained away, instantly spread upwards from her foot.

Serie looked down to see her long boots and lower leg turning to stone at a visible rate. The transformation crept upward like creeping death.

And the petrification continued to spread upwards.

Serie's expression changed drastically, and she immediately mobilized her powerful magic, attempting to dispel Lattland's magic with her own forcefully.

But this petrification magic was unusually stubborn; the dispel speed couldn't keep up with its spreading speed.

Fortunately, this petrification magic had already been weakened by Serie's shield, and it stopped spreading once it reached Serie's knee.

Kurtz saw this scene and exclaimed, "Serie, don't space out!"

The moment Lattland's beam was fired, Kurtz had already dodged the one aimed at him, and that beam instantly turned the rock behind him grayish-white.

At the same time, he immediately moved beside Serie, unhesitatingly wrapping his arm around her waist and dodging sideways.

Serie's petrified boots and clothes cracked due to the violent movement, revealing the fair skin beneath.

Kurtz held her, retreating repeatedly, dodging the range of the petrifying beams that continued to shoot at them.

"Are you alright?"

Kurtz shielded Serie behind him, looking anxiously at her lower leg.

Fortunately, only her boots and a small portion of her skin's surface were petrified; Serie immediately used sacred magic, and the grayish-white color on her skin gradually faded.

"I'm fine."

Serie's voice was a bit cold, more out of anger at her own carelessness. Her golden eyes burned with irritation.

"This magic... is troublesome, but thankfully, sacred magic works against it."

"Leave it to me."

Kurtz stopped talking nonsense and drew Auerge, which was wrapped in cloth.

He was done pretending!

He was going to show this demon what a close-range mage was like!

"Hmph! You even know sacred magic!" Lattland was annoyed that his attack was so easily countered and attacked again, "All of you, turn to stone!"

"Stone? I think your head looks like a stone." Kurtz sneered, and his figure suddenly vanished!

It wasn't high-speed movement, but rather a short-distance spatial teleportation.

This was something he had researched based on the shattered space during the battle in Godfall Land and the large-scale teleportation arrays used by the Skywing Clan and the demons.

A mage who can't flash isn't a good mage!

Lattland just felt a blur before his eyes, and Kurtz had already appeared in front of him.

Orger, infused with incredibly dazzling sacred light, fiercely cleaved towards his head.

"What?!"

Lattland was shocked, hastily using petrification magic, and actually raised his arm, foolishly attempting to block Orger's attack with his petrified arm!

Clang!

The sacred light collided with the arm imbued with petrifying magic, emitting a piercing sound that echoed across the desolate landscape.

Lattland felt a tremendous force, and what alarmed him even more was that the holy sword before him seemed to be the bane of his magic power; at the point of contact, his magic power circulation became sluggish.

"Damn it!"

Lattland roared, his demonic energy erupting, attempting to force Kurtz back with it.

After all, no creature would dare to be contaminated by the dark aura of demons, and he presumed this human in front of him was no exception.

But Serie's retaliation came even faster.

"You wish!"

There were no fancy incantations, only the purest cold air, as if returning a person's own methods upon them; Serie used frost magic.

An ice-blue halo instantly encircled Lattland's feet, and frost rapidly spread upwards. The temperature plummeted so quickly that their breath became visible.

Crack, crack, crack!

Hard ice instantly froze Lattland's lower body in place, covering even the ground beneath his feet with a thick layer of frost.

His demonic energy burst was forcefully interrupted.

"NO!!"

Lattland discovered in horror that he couldn't move, just as he had petrified others, and now, he was actually being "iced" by someone else.

This kind of thing would be impossible unless one's magic power completely overwhelmed the other, or their strength reached a sufficiently powerful state.

At the same time, Kurtz seized the opportunity, and with a strong push of Auerge in his hand, he actually severed Lattland's petrified arm directly. The limb shattered like glass, fragments scattering across the ground.

Even so, Kurtz didn't stop, but instead swung Auerge, striking the opponent's chest with heavy force.

Bang!

"Ah!!!"

Lattland was struck as if by a heavy hammer, spitting out a mouthful of black blood, and was sent flying, crashing heavily against a distant rock before sliding to the ground. The impact left a spider web of cracks in the stone.

The battle ended cleanly and decisively.

In front of two people who had once fought against god, the so-called "Four Heavenly Kings" seemed so vulnerable.

It's also possible that the current Four Heavenly Kings are just the best of a bad lot, as the truly powerful demons had long since died beyond death under the Pseudo-God Strike.

Kurtz walked up to the painfully collapsed Lattland, the tip of Auerge's sword pointed at his throat. Sacred light still pulsed along the blade's edge.

"Damn human! His Majesty the Demon King will not let you go!"

Kurtz looked down at him, and upon hearing him mention His Majesty the Demon King, his gaze shifted slightly: "Listen, I don't care what your purpose is for being here. Go back and tell your Demon King!"

He paused, his voice not loud, but carrying a tone akin to a declaration: "Tell him that one day, his friend will come to find him, and end all his suffering and bring him liberation!"

"Tell him word-for-word, idiot!!"
