Meng Ran heard a noise and looked over, only to see a voluptuous woman leaning on the railing of a rooftop terrace. Behind her, a man held her, resembling the iconic Titanic pose—though from a slightly lower angle.
Listening to the sounds around him, Meng Ran sighed in resignation. He moved to another rooftop, squatted down, and began meditating while instructing Venom to keep an eye on Thor's movements.
Before long, Meng Ran exited his meditative state. It wasn't that he noticed anything unusual—he was just unexpectedly bombarded with a dose of "romantic dog food," making him miss Gwen back in New York.
After all, their relationship had only progressed to kisses, hugs, and lift-ups.
Being young, Meng Ran was principled—he wouldn't let momentary desire override Gwen's feelings.
After a brief reverie about Gwen, he stood up to check on Thor's situation.
"Hm? Where's Venom?" Meng Ran realized that Venom had disappeared. With its continuous evolution, Venom could now leave its host for longer periods.
Looking around, Meng Ran spotted Venom hiding near a bar rooftop.
He approached quickly and noticed more sounds coming from the area. No wonder Venom was hiding there.
"Are these people in such good shape?" Meng Ran wondered as he saw another couple, different from the first.
"Wow! The rooftop here must be amazing to have people lining up like this!"
Meng Ran grabbed Venom and returned it to his body.
"Seriously, I told you to watch Thor, not go watch romantic shows," he scolded.
Venom, aware of its fault, merely smiled. It wasn't lustful—it was fascinated by human reproduction, as it had no gender itself.
"How many couples did you see just now?" Meng Ran asked, curious about the mysterious rooftop.
Venom hesitated. "About… four couples, I think."
Meng Ran's jaw dropped. "Four couples? I was only meditating for a short while—did they happen to come consecutively?"
"You really didn't warn me! Now my ribs are gone!" Venom lamented.
"Wha—how dare you slander me! Your ribs are really gone now!" Meng Ran shouted.
Venom wailed louder. "No justice! Fine, you're not a capitalist… you're Jewish."

After a bit of playful banter, Thor finally carried an intoxicated Erik out of the bar and back to their research base.
Once Erik was settled, Jane and Thor stepped outside to the courtyard, where a small fire burned.
Next to the fire was a simple foldable bed. Thor and Jane sat on it, warming themselves and chatting.
Meng Ran stealthily observed from a distance, feeling a mix of frustration and "romantic dog food" overload.
Venom peeked at the pair by the fire and eagerly asked Meng Ran, "When do you think they'll… mate?"
"Huh?" Meng Ran looked confused.
Venom repeated itself, assuming Meng Ran hadn't understood.
"Alright, alright, I get it," Meng Ran said, "but not every man and woman sitting together does that, you know?"
"Situations like earlier are rare," he added.
After a while, Jane rested her head on Thor's shoulder and fell asleep. Thor carefully laid her on the foldable bed and then lay down beside her.
"Finally… peace," Meng Ran sighed, relieved that his night of waiting and dog food consumption had ended.
Once Thor was asleep, Meng Ran quietly approached and placed a hand above his head.
Venom slipped from Meng Ran's hand and entered Thor's body.
Possession took some time, and Meng Ran stood by patiently.
Soon, Venom returned to Meng Ran after completing the process.
He then moved to a secluded area, sat cross-legged, and began to assimilate the newly acquired power.
The familiar system voice echoed in his mind:
"Congratulations, host! New ability acquired!""Divine Body obtained! Full enhancement of host's physical attributes; genetic-level evolution achieved!""Thor's Power obtained! Greatly increases host's affinity with lightning; host can now manipulate electrical energy!"
Meng Ran felt the surge of power coursing through his body. Tiny arcs of bluish electricity danced along his skin, crackling with energy.
He could sense every cell rejoicing.
The Divine Body meant his body had evolved beyond normal human limits.
Thor's Power meant he could now control an elemental force.
Meng Ran sat in meditation, absorbing the overwhelming energy.
Above him, clouds gathered and collided, producing booming thunder as if heralding the birth of a new lightning wielder.
Moments later, Meng Ran opened his eyes. Lightning danced in his gaze, reflecting the stormy sky above.
