Everyone's attention was immediately drawn by the thunder, and Loki looked up to glance outside.
Steve noticed Loki's expression and asked curiously, "What's wrong? Afraid of lightning?"
Loki cast a sidelong glance at Steve. "It's not the lightning I dislike. It's the person who appears after it."
As they spoke, accompanied by a rumbling thunder, a figure suddenly landed on the aircraft.
The plane shook violently from the impact of the unexpected arrival.
Tony picked up the nearby helmet, put it on, and pressed a button to open the rear hatch of the plane.
Steve, noticing Tony's actions, asked hurriedly, "What are you doing?"
Tony didn't answer, instead walking straight toward the open hatch.
Suddenly, a tall figure with long golden hair descended at the aircraft door—it was Thor, who had landed in New Mexico a year ago.
Seeing Thor appear out of nowhere, Tony immediately raised his hand, gathering energy to fire a repulsor blast at him.
But Thor didn't give him a chance. Before Tony could finish charging, Thor struck him with his hammer, sending him flying.
Thor then grabbed Loki, who was sitting nearby, holding him by the neck and flying out of the plane with him.
"This guy just shows up out of nowhere." Tony sighed, standing up helplessly.
Steve asked curiously, "Is he on our side?"
Tony replied, "It doesn't matter. Whether he spares Loki or kills him, the Tesseract is gone."
With that, Tony walked straight out to pursue Thor.
Seeing Tony leave the plane, Steve shouted, "Stark! We need a battle plan first!"
"I have a plan—the plan is to fight." Tony replied, flying out without looking back.
Seeing Tony leave, Steve could only sigh.
He gave Natasha a quick instruction and then jumped out of the plane with a parachute.
On the ground, Thor and Loki landed on a mountaintop.
As Thor and Loki argued, Tony suddenly dove from the sky, blasting Thor away.
Thor quickly stood up and engaged Tony in a fierce battle.
Clang! Clang! The metallic sounds of battle echoed as Tony's Iron Man armor clashed with Thor's hammer.
Meanwhile, Loki sat on a nearby peak like an audience, watching their martial display.
Just as Tony and Thor fought intensely, Steve descended from the sky, using his shield to separate them.
"Hey! That's enough!"
After shouting, Steve turned to Thor. "Why are you really here on Earth?"
"I'm here to stop Loki's scheme," Thor replied loudly.
Steve responded, "As proof, put down your hammer."
Before Thor could answer, Tony mockingly said, "Oh! That would be awful. He loves that hammer more than anything."
Thor's blood boiled at Tony's taunting.
He swung Mjolnir, blasting Tony away again.
Tony crashed through several trees before finally stopping.
Thor, having sent Tony flying, turned to Steve angrily. "You dare tell me to put down my hammer? Do you have that right?"
With that, he leapt into the air and swung Mjolnir at Steve.
Steve quickly raised his shield to block.
Boom! A thunderous sound erupted from the clash of Mjolnir and the shield.
Blue lightning spread outward in waves from the impact, toppling nearby trees.
The fighting between the heroes paused at the powerful shockwave.
Later, they brought Loki back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.
Upon arrival, Loki was placed in a single-person cell, enjoying "VIP" imprisonment treatment.
Outside, Nick Fury explained the prison's mechanics to Loki.
"If you try to escape, even scratching the glass will drop you straight into a 30,000-foot trap."
As he spoke, Fury pressed a button to open the floor beneath Loki, revealing the deadly trap.
"Understood?"
"Now, who's the ant, and who's the boot?" Fury glared at Loki, then closed the deck over the roaring winds.
Loki smirked. "Nice cage, but I assume it wasn't built for me specifically."
Fury nodded. "Correct. It was designed for someone stronger than you."
Raising an eyebrow, Loki glanced at the nearby monitor. "I've heard of a mindless beast insisting it's human."
"Just how desperate must you be to summon such creatures for protection?"
While Loki and Fury exchanged barbed words, Banner sat in the operations room, awkwardly scratching his head as he watched the monitor.
Steve noticed Banner's discomfort and diverted the topic. "Loki is cunning; he's stalling for time."
"Thor, do you know what he's up to?"
Thor thought for a moment. "He commands an army called the Chitauri."
"They're not Asgardian soldiers. I don't know where they came from."
"Loki intends to use them against Earth."
"The Chitauri help him conquer Earth. In return, Loki will likely give them the Tesseract."
Steve frowned. "An army… and alien at that."
Banner continued, offering his speculation. "That means he'll need another portal. That's why he needs Professor Selvig."
Thor, surprised, asked, "Professor Selvig? My friend?"
Banner nodded. "Yes, the astrophysicist."
Natasha added, "Loki somehow manipulated him—and another ally of ours."
Steve paused to think, then said, "I think we should focus on Loki. Why did he surrender so easily?"
Banner disagreed. "I think our focus shouldn't be on Loki. He's insane. We don't know what he's planning. Our main mission is to secure the Tesseract as soon as possible."
Thor, hearing Banner's description, frowned. "Mind your words. Loki may be unreasonable, but he's Asgardian… and my brother."
Natasha countered coolly, "In two days, he's killed eighty people."
Thor's face flushed slightly. "Uh… he was adopted, technically."
