Hearing that familiar voice, Nick Fury quickly looked up.
A black figure had appeared beside him without his noticing—it was the Phantom he had seen not long ago.
Without hesitation, Fury moved aside, giving the Phantom room to tend to Coulson's injuries.
Meng Ran looked at Coulson, whose breaths were faint and labored, and quickly extended his right hand to the wound that had pierced Coulson's chest.
Thin black strands emerged from Meng Ran's hand and extended into the wound.
As the black threads writhed, the gruesome injury slowly began to stitch itself together.
After a moment, the black strands withdrew, returning to Meng Ran's palm.
At this stage, Venom could be considered a "cheat code" for surgery. No matter how severe a wound or broken bone was, as long as one still had a breath, Venom could restore it.
Of course, injuries to the brain were another matter. The head was delicate and sensitive—such wounds might only be repairable by someone like Jesus.
Once the injury was healed, Coulson's complexion improved slightly. Yet, due to blood loss, he still appeared pale and weak.
Seeing the terrifying wound now repaired, Nick Fury exhaled in relief.
But looking at Coulson's still-pale face, concern lingered. He asked Meng Ran, "He hasn't fully recovered? His face still looks awful."
Meng Ran glanced at Fury with a hint of confusion, then asked with concern, "Did you hit your head too? If your brain is damaged, I can't repair it the same way I fixed this wound."
"What?" Fury was puzzled by Meng Ran's words.
Meng Ran sighed. "I'm asking if your brain's fried. Stop standing there looking dazed—get someone over here to give him a blood transfusion! If you lost that much blood, your face would look just as bad."
"Oh! Oh! Got it!" Fury suddenly understood and hurriedly contacted medical personnel to carry Coulson away.
Normally, Fury wouldn't be this scatterbrained, but after today's chaos and the heavy casualty count, his mind was frazzled, causing the delayed reaction.
Soon, medics arrived with a stretcher, carefully lifted Coulson, and rushed toward the infirmary.
Fury and Meng Ran watched as Coulson was carried away.
Fury, seeing Coulson narrowly escape death, sighed in relief. "Glad he's okay."
"After everything today, I realize I may have underestimated the problem," Meng Ran said.
Fury replied, "What do you mean? That the Avengers plan is failing before it even begins?"
"I reminded you not long ago that honesty is the cornerstone of teamwork," Meng Ran continued.
"But it seems you didn't take it seriously."
Meng Ran looked Fury in the eye as he spoke. Seeing Fury deep in thought, he went on, "Think about the people you gathered for the Avengers. Which of them can be easily fooled?
"Since you decided to form this team, you should have revealed your true intentions. Hiding things only creates trouble."
"Trust, already fragile, has been further eroded in situations like this."
Having said his piece, Meng Ran patted Fury on the shoulder and walked toward the interior of the orbital carrier.
After repairs by Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, the carrier had stabilized.
Natasha successfully subdued Hawkeye, who had stayed behind on the ship.
Only Hulk and Thor remained locked in combat.
Meng Ran's goal was to find Hulk and calm him down.
As he neared the combat area, a figure suddenly collided with him.
Thor, thrown by Hulk's furious strike, had flown straight into Meng Ran's path.
Meng Ran quickly supported Thor's back with his hands, stabilizing him so he only staggered slightly instead of falling.
Standing steady, Thor glanced at the unfamiliar Meng Ran and felt slightly embarrassed. "Oh, I could've stood on my own, but thanks anyway."
Meng Ran ignored the remark, focusing on the furious green giant opposite him.
Hulk roared, pounding his chest, but the instant he locked eyes with Meng Ran, his voice softened.
Hulk recognized Meng Ran as a friend.
Meng Ran approached the calmed Hulk and spoke gently, "Relax, Hulk. There are no enemies here."
Although his voice had been altered to sound hoarse and rough, Hulk sensed the kindness behind the words.
Meng Ran extended his right hand, glowing with a soft, pure light.
Seeing the familiar glow, Hulk gradually approached.
Finally, under Meng Ran's soothing presence, Hulk calmed down completely, reverting to Dr. Banner, wearing only a torn pair of shorts.
Thor, witnessing Meng Ran's miraculous method, exclaimed, "That big guy really beat me up badly. What is that white light of yours? It actually calmed him down."
Meng Ran merely said, "Sorry, that's a trade secret—not for public knowledge."
Thor felt slightly embarrassed, as if Meng Ran thought he had been prying for secrets.
They shook off the awkwardness and introduced themselves to each other.
Meanwhile, Banner slowly opened his eyes, regaining full consciousness.
He clutched the remains of his only covering shorts, bewildered by the chaos around him.
But the confusion lasted only briefly before clarity returned.
Surveying the wreckage, Banner knew it was Hulk's doing.
He scratched his head and looked at Thor and Meng Ran, both watching him.
He had met Thor before, but Meng Ran, in his Banner form, was a first-time encounter.
Yet, thanks to fragmented memories from being Hulk, Banner felt a sense of familiarity with Meng Ran.
