Huang Hao looked over at his sister and gave her a faint yet distant smile.
"Eighth sister," He greeted back. Bai Chun looked over at her and gave a polite nod.
"Brother Bai Chun, this is my eighth sister Huang Shu. We share the same mother. Sister this is Bai Chun. He is my school friend who will be taking the test at the same time as me." Huang Hao introduced them to each other.
"Miss Shu nice to meet you," Bai Chun said to her
"Mr. Bai it's nice to meet you as well. Brother, this elder sister will take her leave." After greeting Bai Chun she turned and left slowly.
Bai Chun looked at her casually as she left and a thought that she looked very pretty flashed. Huang Hao smiled when seeing him look at his sister.
"She's pretty right? She is eighteen and hasn't married yet and isn't engaged." He pointed out. Bai Chun just nodded casually, not having any idea of taking more women. Glancing up he looked around at the trees and saw her slender back as she picked out a few flowers handing them to her maid. Huang Hao chuckled again.
"Do you like her?" Bai Chun started to look slightly uncomfortable.
"I already have enough on my own hands." He said. Huang Hao burst out laughing as a maid stepped forward to swap the tea for a fresh pot.
"No worries, you can always make room by expanding your house." Huang Hao said with a smile making Bai Chun frown.
"Well I heard that the price for a medium plot of land near my village is two hundred silver and one gold for a large one." Bai Chun said, Huang Hao's eyes widened.
"That's cheap compared to in town a small plot starts at twenty gold ."
Bai Chun looked at him shocked and Huang Hao nodded his head.
"But back to the topic of my sister. How about I send her to you as a concubine once you expand your house. This will allow us to make our families close and we can support each other." Bai Chun looked uncertain.
"I'm not sure besides, isn't it your father who is supposed to arrange her marriage?" He asked tentatively, feeling tempted when thinking of how much Huang Hao's family has money wise. Huang Hao waved his hand dismissably.
"Father has forgotten she exists and mother doesn't care for her. So I will just mention it to my father and he will most likely agree." Bai Chun nodded slowly.
"Well that sounds like a good idea but let's just wait until after the exam and when I expand my house or build a new house." Bai Chun said as he sipped his tea which had gotten cold from sitting there.
"I won't forget so you better not." Huang Hao said with a smile while sipping his drink.
The two sat there listening to the trees and birds with ambition sparkling in their eyes. They thought about their future and family's future.
