Chapter 15 - Knowledge Exchange

After Zi Han's explanation, the way Xin Yi looked at Wang Chen changed. There was now genuine admiration in her eyes, and she started looking forward to see just why her master was here.

Soon time continued to pass as the master and disciple enjoyed their remaining tea silently.

Half an hour later, Lin Huang also joined them, sitting some distance away from the trio. It was only when Wang Chen asked him to sit close did he dare to sit some distance away from Wang Chen.

After taking the last sip, Wang Chen placed the cup on the table and smiling asked: "Fellow Daoist, it couldn't be that you are only here to enjoy the tea?"

Zi Han smiled, like flowers blooming. Lin Huang, who happened to witness it, fell into a trance-like state.

Ignoring him, Zi Han continued: "I truly wanted to learn the technique that you showed that day. However, your condition is something that I cannot accept."

Listening to her, Wang Chen calmly nodded. Although this was also the outcome that he wanted, still he could feel a slight dissatisfaction. He could almost imagine just how good it would have been to order an expert like her around.

Wang Chen didn't let his thoughts show on his face. With a calm face he addressed the major issue:

"Then what does fellow Daoist suggest?"

Seeing Wang Chen's straightforward demeanor, Zi Han's eyes flashed and she immediately said:

"An equal exchange. You teach me that mysterious skill of yours, while I can teach you one of my skills."

With that she looked at Wang Chen calmly and said: "Fellow Daoist, what do you think?"

While the two masters were conversing, the disciples sat silently, not willing to make a noise. Lin Huang spared one glance to Xin Yi before focusing on his own body.

Although Xin Yi was extremely beautiful, so was his childhood friend. Thinking about her, Lin Huang's heart couldn't help but surge with hatred.

However, it was for a very brief moment. Next moment his eyes returned to normal. There was no need to think about her—now his destiny lay somewhere greater.

Wang Chen didn't know why fellow Daoist Zi Han was looking at him in this manner, so not knowing what to say, he simply offered her a smile.

On the other hand, Zi Han's thoughts also subtly shifted. Indeed, fellow Daoist is indeed not a normal cultivator.

Zi Han lived for a very long time, and in this long lifespan she had encountered generous tea makers, each more talented than the last. Some had even ascended while pursuing the art of tea making.

She had personally watched mere mortals with no background rise to the top, defeating countless geniuses with the help of a tea cup.

But all of them paled in comparison to this strange fellow.

He showed the least reaction to something as legendary as tea making. Forget about cultivation going haywire—even his expression didn't change.

Wang Chen didn't know that without him doing anything, he had risen through the ranks in Zi Han's eyes—a cultivation legend.

Wang Chen sat straight and with a dignified expression he said: "Fellow Daoist Zi Han, let's begin."

Without a word, Zi Han also nodded.

Although she might look completely carefree on the surface, there were things that needed her attention, so she couldn't afford to waste time here.

Lin Huang and Xin Yi also watched everything from the sidelines. The former not even daring to breathe too loudly, afraid of disturbing his master.

Meanwhile, Xin Yi wasn't as serious as him. Her gaze would occasionally wander around, especially toward the library.

Everyone in the Imperial City knew how much of a bookworm she was. She would rather spend her time reading books than dealing with some humans.

Although she wanted to rush toward the library, so as not to appear rude she managed to control herself.

Meanwhile, Wang Chen focused on the matters at hand. The transfer of knowledge in this world was very unique—by simply focusing, one could create a wisdom rune with the help of qi. With this rune's help, others could also understand techniques or anything from which the rune was made.

Wang Chen couldn't help but think for a moment—Doomclock wasn't a technique but a skill that he learned with the help of the Infinite Tower of Enlightenment. He wasn't sure if others could even learn it.

Anyways, it wasn't his problem if they could learn it or not. He simply had to transfer the principles and working mechanisms. If Zi Han could understand it or not depended on her comprehension.

With this, he closed his eyes and focused. Next moment, Wang Chen felt a soft current brush past him, his jet-black hair fluttered slightly.

He knew it was fellow Daoist Zi Han sending him her wisdom rune, so without hesitating he accepted it into his spiritual space and also sent toward her the rune filled with Doomclock.

Meanwhile, the two disciples only saw flashes of light exchanged between the two masters.

With that, the process of technique transfer was complete. Now it was up to the comprehension of the two individuals whether they could comprehend it or not.

Meanwhile, inside Zi Han's spiritual space.

Her spiritual space was as vast as the sea, with towering mountains that seemed to hold the weight of the heavens itself. However, there was a thick smell of blood permeated in the surroundings.

If one were to look closely, they would discover these mountains were not ordinary mountains but made entirely of skulls of all sorts of creatures—some with three eye sockets, while others had no eye sockets at all. With the passing of time, all these skulls seemed to have fused together into a mountain.

Moreover, the sea was not ordinary either. Its color was pure crimson—countless ghostly creatures could be seen swimming on its surface.

In the center of the spiritual space was the figure of Zi Han. Compared to when she was sitting in front of Wang Chen, here her figure looked even more ethereal and divine. At that time however, there was a frown on her beautiful face. Her almond-shaped eyes were narrowed to pin drops as she stared at the rune floating in front of her.

"The Dao of Fate and as well Time... what a technique..."

Zi Han praised without reservation. She could tell Wang Chen's Doomclock had at least two great Daos at the base level. This also gave her clear understanding of Wang Chen's cultivation level—at least he was at the same cultivation as her. He was another Grand Ascension realm powerhouse.

Thinking of this, her thoughts automatically shifted elsewhere. With fellow Daoist Wang Chen, there are at least ten Grand Ascension realm cultivators currently active. It appears the world is about to change again.

With that thought, she once again returned to the rune in front of her.

Comprehending the technique was going to take a considerable amount of time, so she wasn't in a rush to learn it.

Suddenly she couldn't help but think how much time fellow Daoist Wang Chen would take to learn.

She had decided to gift one of her most cherished movement techniques. If she were to rank it, Zi Han was sure the technique which she had transferred could easily rank within the top ten.

With these thoughts in her mind, she once again focused into reality.

As soon as she opened her eyes in reality, Zi Han's jaw almost hit the ground.

Wang Chen looked exactly the same as before, but if you were to look at his eyes at this moment...something had changed.
