LILLIAN VANDERSON
LILLIAN SIGHED. Marissa had always been better at rock-paper-scissors. Now, she was reaping the spoils.
"We won the full-sized bed," said Marissa, grinning.
Dane shot a look at the bed. "Did we win? Because it's doesn't feel like winning."
"You want the bunk beds?" asked Lillie hopefully.
"Nope." He pulled Marissa into the room, and shut the door.
Lillian and Kade stood in the doorway of the smaller room, staring at the rickety wooden structure. She saw Kade look at the top bunk, then at his own substantial frame, then back at the bunk.
"Bottom," he stated. "Structural integrity's compromised on top. And I need a tactical position facing the door."
"You think you can take Bigfoot?" she asked.
"Probably."
"I swear to God if one mosquito bites me, I'm burning down this entire forest." She tossed her bag onto the top bunk. The entire structure shuddered and groaned in protest.
