Missy and Roger Pierson both wore camouflaged clothing, sturdy boots, and neon orange vests. Each held a canvas rifle case. Colt, thorough as always, had used crime scene tape to create a 100-foot perimeter around the tree that held Franklin's body, preventing others from seeing the hanged man.
"It's the first day of hunting season, for Pete's sake!" Missy wore make-up worthy of the beauty queen she used to be. Her blonde hair was done up like she was going to lunch with the governor instead of to shoot woodland creatures. "Let us pass." She pointed a shiny pink acrylic nail at Blue. "We need to get to our deer blind."
"Where's that exactly?" asked Blue.
"About fifty feet or so to your left," said Roger.
