In Han Yu's memory, Charles was Professor X—the most powerful telepath in the world. But now, it seemed that his ability was to control magnetic fields.
That was Magneto Erik's power!
Han Yu interlaced his fingers under his chin, a strange look flickering across his face. Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind."Damn it—it's a Flashpoint Paradox!"
The so-called Flashpoint Paradox came from the DC Universe. In that world, when the Flash traveled back in time and changed an event, a series of butterfly effects would unfold, altering the future and creating an entirely new timeline. That phenomenon was known as the Flashpoint Paradox.
Originally, Han Yu had thought that his arrival in this world would merely delay or accelerate certain events. But now it seemed his existence hadn't just shifted time—it had changed the entire world line.
In a world affected by a Flashpoint Paradox, everything became different. Those who were once good could become villains of the worst kind—and villains could become heroes.
"I wonder how far this paradox has spread… I'd better guide some events forward before things spiral out of control."
Han Yu rubbed his chin thoughtfully. In his past life, anything related to the Flash always meant one thing—tampering with timelines.Speedsters loved to play with time, running back and forth and rewriting reality as they pleased.
He never imagined his appearance would cause the same kind of event. Truly, "you live long enough to see everything."
"Mr. Han, are you… all right?"
Seeing Han Yu silent for so long, Charles spoke up nervously, thinking he was shocked by his display of power.
"I'm fine," Han Yu said calmly. "Let's get straight to the point. If there are more mutants in this world—and humans reject and even hunt them—what would you do?"
Han Yu's eyes flickered with sharp light. In his memories, Magneto was always seen as a villain—though he had helped Professor X at times, he ultimately stood on the opposite side. Now that Charles possessed Magneto's powers, Han Yu wanted to see what kind of mindset he had.
It was a good question—and one that truly tested character. Charles had never been asked such a thing before, and he fell silent.
Han Yu didn't interrupt. He simply watched him quietly, already prepared for the worst. If Charles's answer revealed malicious intent, Han Yu was ready to use his psychic power to build a mental cage in the man's mind—not to kill him, but to seal away his ability entirely and erase all memory of it.
Because Han Yu knew all too well how far this kind of power could evolve.
Mutants were classified into five levels, with Omega Level at the top—beings of near-divine power, barely numbering ten across the entire mutant race.Magneto's ability ranked at Level Four. Though not the highest, it was enough to move planets—terrifying power by any standard.Among mutants, that already made him a king.
After five long minutes of thought, Charles finally sighed softly."If that day truly came, I'd probably gather the mutants I know and hide. I'd try not to let ordinary humans discover us.To be honest, I've been searching for other mutants all these years—but I haven't met a single one."
Han Yu smiled faintly at that. Thankfully, though Charles's powers had changed, his heart remained as kind as ever. That realization eased Han Yu's mind.
Magneto Erik and Professor X Charles—these were the two people Han Yu had to find.In his memories, it was they who would eventually found the Mutant Academy and guide their kind.
Though Erik's later actions had turned extreme—seeking to eradicate humanity to save mutants—Han Yu knew that stemmed from a painful past.As a child, Erik had been persecuted by the Nazis and exploited for years, leaving him with deep hatred toward ordinary humans. When he later witnessed his "people" being slaughtered, he simply lost his way.
"Good," Han Yu said with a nod. "That's exactly why I came to find you. I plan to establish an academy—a sanctuary for mutants across the world.I want you to join us as a teacher. Not every mutant is as fortunate as you are, with your education and sense of morality. Many are seen as monsters by their families and friends."
"Too much rejection breeds hatred and despair. Some might snap and cause bloodshed. If we gather them together, elders like you can teach them to control their power—and themselves."
Han Yu's words struck deeply in Charles's heart.
Why had he chosen to stay a schoolteacher all these years instead of joining a research institute that offered him a fortune?Because he'd discovered that mutant genes usually appeared from childhood—they didn't just emerge out of nowhere later in life.
Charles had stayed in education to quietly observe students, trying to identify potential mutants early and protect them from the cruelty of the outside world.
But his reach was limited—he could only watch over students in Berlin. Beyond that, he could do nothing.
"What's your plan, then?" Charles asked.
Han Yu replied, "I've developed a program that can scan and locate mutants on a large scale. I'll give it to you.Once we find the other key person, you two can handle the rest. The problem is, I don't know where he is—or if his powers have even awakened yet."
Charles frowned slightly. "And who is this person?"
"Erik. Erik Lehnsherr. He'll be a powerful mutant as well," Han Yu said. "But in this sea of people… where am I supposed to find him?"
Charles slowly raised his hand, his expression turning strange."Erik? Erik Lehnsherr? He's our school's P.E. teacher. We're actually pretty good friends. He's also the only person who knows I'm a mutant."
Han Yu: "???"
Could it really be that much of a coincidence? In the movies, the two of them were best friends—and now, in reality, they were still best friends? What a fateful bond. Truly, destiny worked in mysterious ways.
"That's perfect. Where is he now? Let's go find him," Han Yu said eagerly.
He knew Erik probably wasn't at school right now—otherwise, the X-System would've detected his mutant gene already.
"He's probably at home. Give me a moment, I'll call him over."
Charles quickly pulled out his phone, visibly excited. He had waited over twenty years for this day. Ever since childhood, Erik had been his greatest comfort, the one who helped him accept what he was.
And now, hearing that Erik might also be a mutant filled him with renewed purpose.
The phone rang several times before a deep, magnetic voice answered on the other end."What do you want, Charles? I was sleeping."
"Sleeping in broad daylight? Don't you dare skip work just because you don't have class today! Get to school—now.Something urgent's come up. Be here in half an hour!"
Charles hung up before Erik could even refuse.
