Chapter 41 - Warden Relics, Silent Guardians – Jack’s Judgment

A Few Minutes Ago

When Jack noticed that Ray was beside Diana, he saw an opportunity—an opening to take over Ray's body and uncover all of Ray's secrets. He already knew Ray had been reincarnated like him. Without hesitation or fear of Diana, Jack flew at full speed and entered Ray's body.

At first, Ray groaned and collapsed to the ground, rolling side to side in agony. Then his consciousness descended inward—deep into his soul—to identify the intruder. When he saw Jack, his heart sank. He knew he was no match. Jack was a monster, and Ray was far too weak to resist.

Jack began forcefully clashing with Ray's soul, grinding against it with overwhelming pressure. But just as Jack seemed close to overwhelming him, two ancient relics that belonged to Ray sensed the danger. They reacted instantly—attacking Jack's invading soul and starting to drain it to empower themselves.

For the first time, Jack panicked.

"WHAT IS THIS?! PLEASE STOP! I WON'T DO IT AGAIN! I'LL LEAVE RIGHT AWAY!" He screamed.

But the ancient relics refused to relent. Ray, still groaning in pain, began to focus on his breathing. Suddenly, he noticed his soul cultivation was rising uncontrollably—without his intent. He realized the relics were not only saving him but also accelerating his cultivation. However, he also knew that his foundation was dangerously unstable due to his recent double breakthrough. He needed to find a safe place to consolidate and rebuild his base.

Just then, he sensed another soul trying to enter his body—it was his mother. Quickly, Ray sent a message to her, asking her to take him away immediately.

….

Present Time

Diana teleported Ray back to the Walker Family estate. But even now, he continued groaning in pain, locked in battle with Jack's soul within his body.

Diana brought him to his room and immediately began drawing powerful protection formations around him. She made sure no one could interrupt his cultivation. She even removed his communication watch, having noticed incoming calls from people like Angelina and Princess Alice.

Ray groaned again and barely opened his eyes. In a strained voice, he shared the essential details with his mother:

"I'm going into long-term cultivation, Mother. I'm fighting Jack's soul. I found some opportunities in the vault and the library. The surprise I mentioned earlier... I got two relics, and they're helping me fight Jack. They're also boosting my soul cultivation. Please, leave as many soul cultivation stones, create a soul formation, and leave behind as many soul pills as possible for me."

Hearing this, Diana was initially panicked by the mention of Jack. But upon learning about the relics aiding Ray, she was slightly relieved. She quickly set to work, preparing all the resources Ray needed.

Elsewhere...

At the palace, Robert stood silently, observing the aftermath. The king, Roxanne, and Elizabeth had all fainted. Robert was now absolutely certain—they had been possessed.

Acting swiftly, he ordered the area sealed and commanded all nobles, from barons to dukes, to remain nearby. There was much to address once the king regained consciousness.

Meanwhile, the library caretaker, having witnessed everything, unlocked a hidden chamber. There, he called forth King Daymond's soul, urging it to return to its body and explain the situation to everyone.

Upon hearing the news, Daymond's soul returned to his body and merged with it. Once awake, he immediately summoned a council meeting and began releasing all noble leaders—barons to dukes—from their soul contracts. Fortunately, their contracts had been with him, not Jack.

Apologizing to his loyal subjects, Daymond restored their freedom. He also granted special rewards to Robert, Diana, and Ray. Since Diana and Ray were absent, their rewards would be delivered later.

Daymond issued strict orders to all dukes: every noble, male or female, must be examined for soul possession or binding contracts. Anyone under foreign control was to be dealt with immediately. He refused to allow another Jack-like situation to occur.

He commanded everyone to keep this incident a strict secret—this shame must not spread beyond the kingdom.

After issuing a few more critical commands, Daymond dismissed his subordinates and made his way to the library to meet with the caretaker for a more in-depth discussion.

….

Back in Ray's Room

Ray was still immersed in cultivation. Inside his soul world, he was beginning to uncover more information from Jack.

Jack tried several tactics—first threatening that if Ray killed him, his allies from other kingdoms would come after him. Then he shifted to begging and apologizing. But just before Jack's soul was fully destroyed, he left Ray with a final warning:

"The soul you've taken… is only half of mine. The other half resides in another kingdom. And I'm not the only one. Two other people from Earth have been reincarnated here… The real me will come for you. And I won't be alone."

Ray sighed deeply after hearing this. Enemies were closing in from all directions, and no one was giving him the time he needed to finish his work—like creating the Internet.

Then, a soft glow caught his attention. Floating in front of him was a soul orb—Jack's remnant soul, purified and refined into a resource thanks to the ancient relics. Ray gave his silent thanks to the relics, though they did not respond.

Now, with the soul orb, Ray could cultivate whenever he wanted.

He decided he would focus on soul cultivation for the next few months, aiming to reach the Iron Stage. He also needed to rebuild his shaky foundation—with help from his mother.

His ultimate plan was to strengthen himself enough to ally with the Inventor Guild and gather powerful people who could stand beside him in the battles to come.

….

Far Away, in Another Kingdom…

In a distant kingdom, Jack was calmly talking with his two wives about one of his inventions. Suddenly, he began coughing violently—and then vomiting blood.

Startled, his wives rushed to his side, trying to help him.

But Jack's expression twisted in rage. He had just seen how part of his soul had been crushed into nothing. Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember what had happened or who had done it.

He collapsed shortly after, unconscious.
