"Frieren, you really should just stay in the mark."

Standing on the cliff, Yulian said helplessly to the snowflake pattern on the back of his hand.

"Demon King, you were the one who told me to go."

Frieren's soft voice, carrying a hint of complaint, rang out, only to be covered by a louder sound the next second.

"Quick, faster!"

"That Demon Race must be here!"

"Damn it, I didn't expect it to be someone from the Demon Race!"

"Aren't they supposed to be on the Northern Continent!"

The shouts of the pursuers grew louder, and they were getting closer.

"There's a cliff ahead, they have nowhere to run!"

More than a dozen fully armed guards formed a semi-circle, surrounding Yulian.

"Demon Race!"

"And there's a female Demon too!"

The guard captain raised the greatsword in his hand, its blade pointing directly at Yulian, a cold gleam appearing.

"Honestly,"

"I really didn't want to do this, why are they chasing so relentlessly?"

Yulian sighed, his finger pointing at the guards one by one.

"One, two, three, four, five..."

"Demon Race!"

"Don't move!"

The guard captain was startled by Yulian's sudden action and immediately shouted loudly!

"Don't worry, it won't hurt much."

"Bang!"

As Yulian's gentle words fell, a huge blood flower bloomed on the cliff top!

Followed by two, three...

"Bang!"

It was a feast of fireworks, only too bloody.

"This is... brutal."

Yulian looked at the cliff peak, which had become a river of blood, and managed to squeeze out this sentence.

The one who acted was naturally Frieren; the undetectable power of nature was much safer than Yulian using Magic.

The South, this was entirely the human world.

"They looked at me with disgusting eyes earlier."

"Besides, it was you, Demon King, who used my power without controlling it properly."

Frieren spoke with a soft, slightly pouting tone.

"True, they were seeking their own death."

"Can't blame anyone else."

Yulian's expression was indifferent as he leaped straight down the cliff.

The power of ice and snow gently lifted Yulian, and he gradually flew towards the distance as if he had a hang glider.

However, during the flight, Yulian stumbled slightly for a moment, almost falling off the cliff.

"Demon King, you don't think you can cover up the embarrassment of your unstable power control, do you?"

"..."

"After all, it's been a long, long time since I've fought..."

=ω=

After Yulian made the same awkward expression as Frieren and saw that Frieren didn't say anything, he let out a sigh of relief.

At the same time, Yulian recalled the elf he hadn't seen for a while.

Frieren, are we really destined to be enemies?

Now, for the sake of the Demon Race, he has already stained his hands with too much blood.

What kind of scene will it be when we meet again?

"Are you alright, Frieren?"

On the low grassy slope, night had fallen, and stars twinkled.

Himmel snapped out of the beautiful scenery, looked at Frieren, and said softly to her.

"No,"

I'm fine.

Frieren originally wanted to say this, but after a pause, she seemed to think of something, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up slightly.

"Someone must be speaking ill of me behind my back."

The playful joke had just been uttered when it stunned everyone.

"Fri, Frieren."

Himmel was dumbfounded.

"Mhm?"

Frieren propped her chin with her hand, looking puzzled.

"Oh!"

"Is this really Frieren!"

Heiter looked incredibly surprised, even pinching Frieren's cheek with his hand.

Hmm... it's really her...

"It looks like you had another good trip."

Eisen said emotionally.

"She's even making jokes now."

"Is it that surprising?"

Frieren puffed out her cheeks and retorted.

"Yes, yes!"

The three answered in unison.

=ω=

Seeing this, Frieren could only adopt her signature expression.

"Hahaha~"

Laughter echoed among the group for a moment.

"I really hope everyone can stay like this forever."

Himmel looked at the people beside him and smiled.

"It feels like good days should always remain fresh and shining like this."

"Look, shooting stars!"

Frieren clearly didn't hear Himmel's words; she just excitedly stood up, looking at the sudden meteor shower falling in the sky at this moment.

"Shooting stars,"

"They're really beautiful!"

Himmel echoed the praise, but his blue eyes reflected Frieren's cheerful figure.

Frieren...

The bell tolled in the cemetery, shovelfuls of soil were vigorously shoveled up and thrown onto the Hero's coffin.

Filling the grave, erecting the monument, offering flowers.

Everyone was immersed in an atmosphere of sorrow.

That gentle and powerful Hero, Himmel, had died.

At the funeral, Frieren cried loudly.

No one expected that after a brief reunion, Himmel would reach the end of his lifespan and pass away in the Royal Capital.

"Frieren..."

Heiter and Eisen suppressed their inner grief, gently comforting Frieren, who was crying like a child.

Perhaps it should be said, she was just a child.

"Don't pat my head."

But after crying, she could only bid farewell to Heiter and Eisen and embark on her long journey once again.

"A nearly eternal life, that's what elves are."

Looking at Frieren's back as she turned and walked away from the bridge.

Eisen sighed.

In a sense, eternal life also represents eternal loneliness.

Eisen's mind recalled his relatives and friends, his eyes showing a hint of melancholy.

The sky seemed to reflect the shadows of departed friends.

Yulian glided down from the sky, landing steadily in a mountain forest not far from a small town. After tidying his clothes, he walked towards the town.

He could stop now.

After decades of frantic turmoil, Yulian had assassinated over ten kings in the Southern Kingdoms and plunged dozens of countries into war.

Especially the last job he just finished, assassinating the king of the Southern great nation, the Iroman Kingdom.

This directly ignited the already sensitive nerves of the Southern Kingdoms.

A super war involving nearly twenty countries began because of this.

Yulian could finally stop and prepare to return to the North to regroup, leading the Demon King Army to launch an attack on humanity.

"Stop!"

"Who are you!"

Familiar words sounded in Yulian's ears.

Yulian looked up at the heavily armed guards, then at the three large characters "South City" hanging on the city wall, and smiled.

It seemed to be like this when he set off for the Southern Kingdom. Yulian felt as if everything from the past was vividly before his eyes at this moment.

"An adventurer."

Just like thirty years ago, Yulian said this sentence.

"South City is under lockdown, not open to adventurers"

"Go back."

The guards lowered the spears pointed at Yulian and waved their hands casually.

As expected, he couldn't get in.

Yulian nodded, looked at the not-so-high city wall, and already had an idea in his mind.

It looks like I'll have to climb over the wall again, just like not long ago.

"Thank you."

Leaving the city gate, quietly waiting in the mountain forest for night to fall, Yulian activated Magic again and entered the city.

And the story, starting from here, began.
