"It looks great no matter how you look at it, okay?"

In the woods behind South Ridge Mountain, Yulian hugged his arms and comforted the glum-faced Nico.

"How can you call this great~"

Nico looked at the large pit in front of her, wanting to cry but having no tears.

From the first day she could control her own mana, Frieren assigned Nico a task—to cast Magic of standard size.

Originally, Nico thought it would be easy, but she didn't expect controlling mana to be so difficult.

Under Nico's repeated bombardment, the originally peaceful and tranquil forest could now be used to film a disaster movie.

"Continue."

By a small table not far away, Frieren ate the pastry in her hand and drank the tea that had already gone cold, her expression calm.

The cultivation of a Mage shouldn't be this boring, but since Nico's control over mana doesn't meet the requirements, she can only rely on extensive training.

"Yes—"

Nico nodded with a mournful face, and holding her breath, fired a fireball into the pit.

"You're burning me to death!"

A heaven-shaking yell came from deep within the pit.

Immediately after, a burnt-black figure jumped out of the pit.

"Who is ambushing me!"

"Step forward!"

Bafiel stared with his blackened little face, purple mana ready to be unleashed.

Damn my luck, I just escaped to Nanbin and already ran into those hateful guys!

"Nico, step back."

As soon as the dangerous aura arrived, Yulian had already instantly flashed in front of Nico.

Frieren also stood up, looking directly at the charcoal figure.

"Were you the ones who ambushed me?"

A terrifying aura emerged from the purple Magic orb in Bafiel's palm.

"Who are you?"

Yulian condensed a defensive barrier, feeling that the charcoal figure in front of him looked somewhat familiar.

"Splash~"

Compared to Yulian's hesitation, Frieren directly cast a stream of water Magic.

The stream of water washed away some of the charring, revealing Bafiel's still somewhat youthful face.

It just looked miserable now, and the baby fat he originally had was now gone.

"It's you,"

"No wonder I didn't recognize you, you've lost a lot of weight."

After carefully observing, Yulian commented and withdrew his defensive Magic.

"Indeed."

Frieren nodded and sat back down.

"You know me?"

Bafiel asked uncertainly, the hostility on his body also lessening significantly.

He clearly saw the current situation; he must have run through a tunnel and ended up in a place where people were training Magic.

That cute girl with pink hair looked like a beginner at first glance.

Is this some terrifying large-scale fire-type Magic training ground?

Beginners learning this kind of Magic?

Bafiel felt his head was a mess.

"We don't know you."

Yulian and Frieren said in unison.

"Really?"

Bafiel felt it was a bit strange.

"Really!"

Yulian nodded affirmatively, while Frieren habitually looked around scattered, feeling guilty.

"Farewell."

Although Bafiel felt strange, he always felt that being with these two wouldn't lead to anything good, so he chanted a Magic spell, preparing to slip away.

"Bafiel!"

"Surrender!"

A condescending voice sounded from the sky, followed immediately by a massive barrier surrounding this forest.

"Damn it!"

Bafiel tried to burrow into the ground but could only touch the hard Magic barrier.

I knew nothing good would come of this!

"I told you it wasn't me!"

Bafiel argued vehemently!

"I did go to the lord's treasury, but I really didn't take this many gold coins!"

"I only took the share that belongs to us!"

"Ridiculous!"

The man's voice carried a tone of judgment.

"Stop making excuses for your actions, thief!"

"These few are your accomplices, aren't they?"

"We'll catch them all in one swoop!"

A smile appeared on the man's face.

Yulian was a bit confused.

Should I say that I haven't even spoken yet and I'm already an accomplice?

Although I am indeed considered the real culprit.

"Lord Court Mage, we are just innocent passersby."

Frieren said innocently.

"Innocent passersby?"

"Interesting."

"But there's no doubt that you are accomplices."

The man wearing the dark purple moon robe chuckled.

"Compared to catching a young punk like Bafiel, the merit of catching accomplices and the mastermind behind it is clearly much greater."

"Sir Court Mage, it's really not us."

"Frieren, there's no need to explain anymore!"

Yulian interrupted Frieren.

"Whether we are or not, all he wants is to kill us."

Yulian's expression was serious, shielding Nico behind him.

"And all we can do is fight back!"

Frieren nodded silently, starting to question whether she was the real culprit, but it was clearly not the time to space out.

"I understand."

Frieren's staff was summoned forth.

"Are you going to resist?"

"Right, otherwise you'll be killed~"

Three blue beams of light respectively shot towards the three of them!

"Bang!"

A sound of violent collision rang out, and the three of them were completely unharmed.

"You have some strength."

The Court Mage's gaze became slightly serious.

Those three ordinary attack Magic spells were both a test and intended for a single-strike kill.

He just didn't expect them to be easily blocked.

"How despicable!"

Nico shouted loudly, the beam of light carrying a terrifying aura was only a few meters away from her just now!

Fortunately, Yulian deployed his defensive Magic in time.

"Frieren, make your move."

Yulian pursed his lips; if there was too much mana fluctuation, Yulian couldn't guarantee that his Demon Race identity wouldn't be detected.

"Imprisonment Magic!"

Frieren nodded, and the vast mana surged from her staff, directly capturing the Court Mage in the sky in just a few seconds.

"It's, over?"

Bafiel, who was ready to escape at any moment, watched as the Court Mage, who was preparing to go all out, was captured in less than half a second from the start, and was a bit stunned.

"You commoners!"

"How dare you treat the Court Mage like this!"

The man in the purple moon robe had clearly never seen such 'gentle' yet violent Magic; in just an instant, he was already imprisoned within a Magic cage!

Unheard of, unseen!

"If you beg for mercy now, it's still not too late, otherwise, when our Chief Mage arrives, you'll be finished!"

However, even with such a huge disparity in strength, the man was still shouting.

"Sir Court Mage, we are truly not the culprits."

Frieren explained.

Just as the man said, even though she could defeat him, Frieren wouldn't make a move.

Otherwise, they would face the empire's endless pursuit.

"Alright, I understand."

"Release the Magic."

A smug smile appeared on the Court Mage's face; as a Mage of the empire, he could always be somewhat reckless.

It's just that Frieren chickened out, but Yulian wasn't afraid.

"Do you really not know who Frieren is?"

"Sir Court Mage?"

Yulian looked at the Court Mage in front of him as if looking at an idiot.

Honestly, Yulian had never met such a foolish person; he didn't know if he was truly stupid or if having the identity of an Imperial Court Envoy already made him arrogant.
