"Bang!"
"Boom!"
The train crashed into a dark tunnel, causing a violent shaking that almost caused the tunnel to collapse. Luckily, the tunnel was spacious enough to absorb the impact. Even though it had derailed, the train didn't instantly turn into a pile of scrap metal when it hit the wall.
"Cough, cough..."
Dust filled the tunnel. Javier coughed as he climbed out of the derailed train car. The entire train had derailed. He had only suffered some minor scrapes, but the situation had been extremely dangerous. If he hadn't held onto the metal pole in the caboose, he would have been a goner.
"Hey!"
"Rebecca, Billy, are you two okay?"
Javier yelled at the ruined train after he climbed out. Rebecca and Billy were at the front of the train. If it had crashed, the front would have taken the most impact. He was worried that something had happened to them.
But he quickly realized that he was overthinking things. They were the main characters. How could they die in a train crash? They were the ones who killed vehicles, not the other way around.
Sure enough, "Cough, cough..."
"Javier, we're fine. Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?" Rebecca said as she helped Billy out of the overturned train car. Although she was fine, Billy had hurt his leg. The impact was too strong, and he was limping.
"I'm fine," Javier said, relieved. He looked at the tunnel and said with a serious face, "But we've come to a very dangerous place. The executive training facility. If I'm not mistaken, this is where the Umbrella Corporation researches viruses. There might be more zombies here. We have to be more careful."
Billy and Rebecca looked up and saw the Umbrella Corporation's iconic red and white umbrella logo carved into the tunnel wall.
The executive training facility had been abandoned for many years. Only a few parts of the research were still going on. After Marcus, the director, was killed and Umbrella's CEO, Spencer, acquired the T-virus, the executive training facility became useless and was abandoned. The tunnel was covered in dust and spiderwebs, and there was no sign of anyone.
Even William, who was Marcus's favorite student, didn't choose to research his G-virus here. He moved to the safer Raccoon City to do his research. The only way out of the tunnel was a staircase that led to the upper level. Their way back was blocked by the overturned train. Since they had no other way to go, they had to move forward.
"We have no choice but to keep going," Javier said. "You two follow me. I'll take the lead! Watch out for zombies on both sides. And Billy, take this to protect Rebecca. Don't tell me you don't know how to use this old thing. It may be old, but it's still powerful."
Javier handed Billy a Winchester M1887 shotgun from his backpack. It was a classic lever-action shotgun from the game. Although it wasn't as convenient as a pump-action shotgun, it was just as powerful. The most famous scene with this gun was in the Terminator movies when the cool guy with sunglasses rode a Harley-Davidson and reloaded the gun with one hand. It was a stylish way to reload that many people still remember. That was the reason Javier bought this Winchester M1887. After all, style was what mattered most!
"Heh..."
"I used to touch this old thing a lot when I was a kid. This brings back memories," Billy said, taking the M1887 shotgun from Javier. His father used to use this gun to hunt, and Billy remembered hunting wild boars with his dad as a child. He was very familiar with the gun and felt nostalgic.
"Hey, Javier, what about me? Don't I get anything?" Rebecca asked, annoyed. She didn't care about weapons; she just hated that Javier was treating her differently. She wanted a gun, too!
"You're the medic; you don't need a weapon. We'll protect you," Javier said calmly, pinching Rebecca's cheek. The girl's job was to be the medic. He was worried that she would accidentally shoot him. The story had already started, and Rebecca's luck-enhancing passive ability was now active. Javier wasn't sure if he had a main character buff, so he had to be careful not to get killed by her.
Executive Training FacilitySecret Monitoring Room
"Hey, Wesker!"
"Someone broke into the executive training facility. Looking at their uniforms... they seem to be members of your S.T.A.R.S. team. What are they doing here? Did the Raccoon City Police Department find out we leaked the virus? Should we take care of them?"
As the three of them made their way to the upper level of the executive training facility, Wesker and William, who were hiding in the secret monitoring room, had already spotted them. William immediately recognized them as S.T.A.R.S. members and quickly asked Wesker, the captain of the S.T.A.R.S. team. After all, as a double agent, his identity as a S.T.A.R.S. captain was just one of his many roles.
