Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 — Corridor of Lost Voices> Every step repeats a prayer from the dead.

"What's dosen ' kill you waits for you later" A quiet echo sounded in his mind as he immediately opened his eyes, grasping for air, just to see Lilith and Dracular looking at him in concern.

Master" Lilith's quiet but concerned voice sounded straight into sunny ears, who immediately looked around in confusion, but seeing that they were all safe and the eerie sound outside was no more, he couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"No, it's nothing, just had a terrible nightmare", Sunny said. Just then, the alarm on the watch sounded, indicating that they were now in the next night.

"Looks like it's about time we started our journey", Sunny said as the daggers disappeared from his hand. "Are we really going to start this journey at night? Why don't we wait until daybreak? It will be less dangerous," Dracula said, tone filled with fear.

"Are you trying to be funny?" Sunny couldn't help but ask, "So we should wait till day, which is only three hours of sunlight, then what? When night came back up again, we hid until the next sunrise. Then, why don't you tell me something in this peace? How long do you think it will take us to reach our destination?" Sunny angrily said.

"There was no sin to be weak, but being a coward was unacceptable." Sunny added on hearing sunny's sharp words that seemed to shake straight into his soul, Dracula couldn't help but feel ashamed "Sorry man I didn't mean it that way, it's just that I have been traumatised way too many times, so it's those fear that keeps hunting me"

Dracula said remorsefully, "There is no point in apologising. If you want to prove it, apologise with action. Do you know how to use a sword?" Sunny asked as a thick, long sword with a golden pattern flowing over its body appeared, making the air feel like a blade or glass.

Seeing the sword that Sunny brought out, clearly intending to give him, and judging by the way the sword looked, Dracula knew it was no ordinary sword "Yes, I do", Dracula said, catching the sword Sunny threw at him.

But to his surprise, the sword felt very light as he strapped it on his back. As sunny daggers once again appeared in his hand, as he immediately stripped them to his trousers. "Master, are we going to engage in battle immediately?" Lilith, who had been quiet, finally said as her wings unfolded at her back.

"No, we take it in whatever way anything brings it to us", Sunny said, and with this, they exited the room after removing the appliances from the door, looking at the corridor that seemed to stretch into infinity. They all remained vigilant.

As the quiet sound of what stayed in the darkness lurked around then, as if instinctively, Lilith's flaming sword cut through the air, followed by a head with two horns on it, which fell and rolled on the ground, tongue sticking outside, but no body was found.

As if afraid of the light, Lilith's sword was emitting. Angry screech and groans resounded all around them, but nothing could be seen, and with another round of swinging circularly in the air, six more heads rolled down.

And with this, the screech and groans grew louder, ontill it later disappeared into the distance looking at the heads on the ground that were still gushing out blood dracula carefully crossed one of the heads that rolled to his front, while quacking his peace to catch up to Sunny and Lilith who were already descending down the stairs.

"That was children of the night, right ?" Dracula asked in a somewhat quiet tone, "Yeah, but for some reason, an extremely weak version of them" Sunny said, "But master, even if they were weak, they were still as dangerous. If I didn't notice them in time, then we would all have been trapped in an illusion. Just as the hallway stretched endlessly before us at first," Lilith said as her feet touched the floor, followed by the rest.

"Yeah, I think that might be related to your light affinity since it's the natural enemy of darkness", Sunny said as they all exited the building, which seemed to look at them with hatred. Looking at the quiet, empty street, except for the hollowing of the wind, everything else was completely eerily quiet, yet they all felt that something was keeping watch over them.

But since neither of them could locate the source, or kill it from wherever they were hiding, they all chose to ignore it, "We ain't going to trek all the way to Mojade's deserted city, are we?" Dracular asked as he unknowingly stepped on a dry branch, which made a cracking noise, which was ignored by all.

And with a sneering sound. Multiple eyes looked at them from within the buildings.
