Sunny said, as he and Lilith continued to converse, as Dracula ate. Listening to their conversation, Dracula hung on to the point that they were not from this planet.
Having eaten, followed by a fifteen-minute rest. Followed by a bombardment of questions by both sides. Which was answered till both sides were satisfied and came to a conclusion, while deciding to take a break till what I would have liked to call the next morning.
But since they were now facing an extreme night, there would be no sunrise or light for the next six days, followed by three hours of sunrise before the next extreme night.
Within their conversation, Sunny and Lilith learnt a lot about this world, alongside some of its unknown factors not stated in the files, along with Dracula's name. As both sides decided to come into a long-term cooperation till Sunny completes his hunter association test mission.
Setting an alarm that would go off in the next seven hours on a watch, signifying it's already the next night, which can't be called day. Dracula immediately fell asleep a sleep more peaceful than any he had from the beginning of the apocalypse.
"Master, where are we heading next?" Lilith asked who was also sleeping beside Sunny, "Mojave Deserted city," Sunny said as his eyelashes got heavy as sleep devoured him alongside Lilith, who later followed.
A faint sound woke Sunny up from his sleep, as he got up and steadied himself, fixing his gaze on the door amidst the darkness, which somewhat limited his eyesight. But he could see a few meters clearly, though not as clearly as in daylight.
The sound seemed to come from outside the hallway. As sunny daggers dripping with their usual venom appeared in both of his hands as he silently moved towards the door, not wanting to wake up the rest.
The door that had been reinforced with chairs, a table and other appliances, couldn't help the situation on the ground. Being in a high-rise their only escape route was the staircase in the corridor, even if they wanted to jump down from the third floor. Sunny knew Dracular's body couldn't handle it.
Sunny peeped through the peephole, only to see the corridor engulfed in darkness. After observing for a while, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, Sunny turned back to go to sleep.
But then he had only taken four steps when the same bizarre spaced-out knock flashed him back to the knock they had heard. In the street, sounded once again from the iron door.
Thud~Thud!
Two eerily spaced out knocks immediately made sunny scalp tingle!
Sunny could as well go out to face the unknown threat, but sometimes wisdom is always profitable, if whatever it was didn't barge in and just knock for a while and leave, Sunny wouldn't engage in a fight.
"Was it really a person? Or had that thing that knocked while in the street, discovered where they were temporarily staying?"
Sunny taught remaining calm and collected, even though he was in a situation he wasn't completely sure of. As he turned back to the door, he once again peered through the peephole.
Hiss!
The unholy sight through the peephole made sunny eyes go wide and open in terror. As his hair stood to its ends, this was unlike anything he had ever seen. Something that wasn't supposed to even exist, but that was one scary thing about the universe.
Smiling creepily at him, a smile that stretched to the end of its face. Also smiling at him through the peephole was a woman completely naked. Her body was pale and gaunt, with eyes all over her body completely, as the eyes all stared directly at Sunny. Without blinking, emitting a dark, terrifying, unholy aura.
What was even more terrifying was the fact that the naked woman pointed her hand towards the direction of the peephole. And out of the eye's balls in her hand came mouths with a long, wet tongues. That seemed like it was directly telling Sunny something, but no words came out.
Sunny's legs autopilotly took a step back. Eyes widened in panic, hand gripping tightly to his daggers, sweat running down his body, Sunny knew one certain thing that if he was to face such a thing, even with the help of Lilith, they wouldn't still win.
It was not like Sunny was weak or anything; Sunny was indeed stupidly strong. But when a strong individual sees something far stronger than himself, he immediately knows from the bottom of his heart.
But one thing was sure, Sunny knew that whatever it was, it was neither human nor zombie, "could it have been part of one of the children of the night?" Sunny's thoughts ran, "If just one is this strong, what about the others? This mission is completely suicide? No wonder they assigned many more people to this mission than the rest." Sunny thoughts as sweat continued to soak him.
But thankfully, it didn't make any more moves as time slowly ticked away, as Sunny was completely devoid of sleepiness, hands gripping his daggers more tightly, vigilant to the highest point, even if the worst happened, he wouldn't simply go down without a fight.
"Shit, where did it go?" Sunny panicked, knowing that whatever was standing behind the door mysteriously vanished even when he didn't blink, keeping his gaze completely glued on it. It still managed to vanish without him noticing. "Just how strong was it?"
And like this time tickled bit by bit, which with every passing hand of the watch. Sunny grew more uneasy, sitting at the front of the bed staring directly at the door, daggers clenching tightly in his hands, and with this, Sunny eventually drifted into sleep without knowing.
Minds still in fear of what he saw, as he frowned from time to time, even when asleep. Looking like one who was in a terrible nightmare, his hands still clenched tightly to his daggers.
"What's dosen ' kill you waits for you later" A quiet echo sounded in his mind as he immediately opened his eyes, grasping for air, just to see Lilith and Dracular looking at him in concern.
