All of the world, was in utter silence.
Regaining their eyesight, Sunny and Lilith couldn't help but space out a bit at the abandoned, creepy view that greeted them.
Looking at the dark, creepy city before them, Sunny and Lilith couldn't help but proceed cautiously, not making much noise in the process, while observing a few useful details on what might give them a head start in their mission.
As the darkness in the sky cast a dark, eerie atmosphere on the long-abandoned city, the long-rottened door, the city lay shrouded in an eerie stillness, the street lined with crumbling buildings that seemed to lean in, as nature had begun to reclaim the structures, with vines crawling up walls and buildings.
Floor cracked, with vines growing out of the floor, tumoring the car upside down, as cars and trucks piled up at various places within the city, preaching to one about life taking accidents. That happened on the day of the apocalypse, if one still listened closely, one could hear the desperate cries and panic that spread everywhere like wildfire.
As vehicles collide with buildings and various vehicles causing explosions at various places, taking lives with them. As those who died once again opened their eyes, they attacked everyone in sight.
The once vibrant storefronts now stare out like empty eyes, their windows shattered, their signs cracking in the gentle breeze. As the street on which they walked seemed like one walking into the unforeseen danger of the unknown.
As debris litters the sidewalks. The sound of silence is almost palpable, broken only by the rustling of abandonment and things that hide in the dark. The city's park, once a hub of community life, now lies in despair. The swings creak gently in the cold night breeze, the slide is rusted, and the benches are withered and worn. Trees grew wild, their branches tangled and overgrown.
As the foreboding sky seems to suffocate the crumbling and the eeriness of the city. Darkness casts a perpetual, suffocating gloom, as the dark sky that gives one a sense of danger seems to mirror the city's hopelessness.
"Master, this place gives me a feeling of uneasiness", Lilith said, walking beside Sunny. Who was busy taking each and every detail his eyes landed on into his mind. Deep within the darkness of the night, two spaced-out knocks resounded. Thud~Thud! A knock that seemed deliberate and slow, making one's scalp tingle! "Was it zombies, humans, or those things that were mentioned in the files called the children of the night?" Sunny taught as he tried to locate the source of the knock with his ears and eyes, but failed woefully.
"Why don't we take a break today? We will continue tomorrow morning or perhaps the next night." Sunny wasn't sure which it was "Master, none of the buildings seem to be in good condition to enter. I fear that it might collapse immediately we set foot in it." Lilith said with concern.
"Better than staying in this creepy street, " Sunny said as he grabbed her hand while dragging her towards a building which he had sighted before, which was composed of three floors. But for safety purposes, Sunny decided they should stay on the third floor.
On reaching the third floor, Sunny casually opened doors along the hallway. Ontill his eyes settled on one, grabbing the handle, Sunny applied a reasonable amount of pressure before the door slowly slid open, making its usual rusty sound in the process.
Rushing towards him, with a fruit knife at hand, was a guy who looked withered and almost lifeless, but before he could get to Sunny, he tripped on the floor and fell. But didn't choose to stand up as if accepting his fate of death.
But the death he expected never came, not until a calm, collected voice reached his ears with an outstretched arm, "Are you okay?" Sunny said while extending his hands towards the guy on the ground.
Who spaced out for a while before taking his hands, looking towards the direction of the voice dracula couldn't see the owner of the voice since it was that dark. But he felt two presents meant they went one.
"You ain't one of those children of the night"? Dracula asked, talking to the unknown figure in the dark. "No, I'm not", Sunny answered flatly, like Why would he even assume that he was part of the children of the night? Can't he see the way both he and Lilith were dressed? Did they look like one?
But what Sunny wasn't aware of was that. Dracula couldn't even see the person he was chatting with, "Sorry to bother you, ma,n, but I can't even see you right now, with the other person beside you".
Dracula's weak, cracked voice sounded, "Ohhh, apologies, Lilith condense a falmig ball" Sunny said as a falmig ball appeared in the air, instantly brightening up the next two streets along the side. Seeing this Dracula instantly panicked, not even caring to look much at their appearance.
"Fuck what are you guys doing? Are you trying to get us killed"? Dracula's panicked voice managed to sound angry, as the expression of dread crept in on his face. Realising the gravity of the situation, Lilith instinctively cancelled the flame.
But this wasn't enough, as strange, creepy sounds, giggles, low laughter, hums, and creepy, quiet whispers resound quietly around the dark. Making one hair stand on end. That ain't no sound a zombie will make, be it envolved or not.
Pulling both straight into the room, with a strength even he didn't know he possessed. As he tightly locked the door in panic, "Quickly help me move stuff to the door", Dracula said in the dark, not needing extreme eyesight to see in the darkness within the room, cause he was already familiar with everything within the room.
Doing as he said, Sunny and Lilith both got to work, as they moved the rotten fridge, chairs and other small appliances to the door, as quietly as they could, as the continuous sounds outside the darkness didn't stop.
Waking tiredly towards a huge, messed-up bed, Dracula dragged his self with every last ounce of strength he had left, as he sat at the edge of the bed, breath unstable.
"Look, I don't know who you guys are, nor do I know why you didn't know that within the extreme night bright attractive light, seeks death", followed by a struggling grasp.
"But I am clearly glad I could help my kind, which I haven't seen for a while, to secure the door," Darcual said no more, out of lack of strength, having not eaten for twenty-one days, calmly awaiting death.
Looking at the condition he was in, Sunny was moved to know that at least some people still had human consciousness even in a world like this. Slightly waving his hand in the air, four meat piles and a bottle of water appeared in his hand.
As the aroma of the meat piles that smelled freshly baked spread across the room, making Darcula, who was calmly awaiting death, open his eyes. If only he still had silava left in his mouth he would have silavated, "you... You have food"? Darcula said in surprise.
"Here, pal, eat up", Sunny said as he laid them closely to Dracula's legs, as both he and Lilith sat down beside him. Using his trembling hand to roam on the food, Darcula couldn't help as emotions swelled up in his heart. As he opened his mouth to utter another world, but was cut off by Sunny.
"You don't need to be worried, just eat up so you can have energy to talk. There is more of where that came from if you still need," Sunny said with his usual tone while listening closely to the activities around some meters from the room. And with this, the sound of water being drunk followed by the sound of slowed eating before it eventually became fast. As Sunny and Lilith looked at Dracula, who was eating like a bull.
"Master, what sounds did we hear?" Lilith asked, still not able to shake off the feeling of dread that crept upon her like death. "Ohhh, that must be the children of the night, but I don't have much information about them, only he could help us with a bit of information".
Sunny said, as he and Lilith continued to converse, as Dracula ate. Listening to their conversation, Dracula hung on to the point that they were not from this planet.
