The Eighth Dimension.
Trillions…!
For Burdock, power wasn't just numbers anymore. Every level he broke through felt like stepping into a new dimension. He had built his own way of measuring strength:
Common fighters start at level one.
Above ten thousand, level two.
Above a hundred million, level three.
Beyond a trillion, level four.
Then into higher ranges, crossing level five, six, seven… until at last— the eighth dimension.
This wasn't some random scale. Burdock had tested it through battle, step by step.
For reference: Whis stood around the fifteenth dimension. Beerus's true base was at the tenth. Goku's first Super Saiyan God was around the sixth. Golden Frieza and Super Saiyan Blue were in the seventh.
By this logic, Burdock had pushed into the eighth. He wasn't at Whis or Beerus's level yet— but his power was brushing against realms only gods touched.
…
King Kai's Planet.
King Kai was drenched in sweat as he watched Namek. His whole body trembled.
"This pressure…! I can't breathe…! This is worse than when Majin Buu appeared!"
He had never felt such overwhelming power before. Not in the entire universe.
"I didn't think Bardock, the Saiyan, could be this strong…! If Majin Buu showed up now, Bardock could crush him like mud!" King Kai gasped.
For once, he felt relieved. If Bardock was around, maybe the crisis with Buu wasn't hopeless. Maybe Supreme Kai would even thank him.
Still, one question haunted him:
"What is Bardock really after…? Why is he clashing with Polunga?"
…
On Namek.
The mighty dragon Polunga froze in shock.
This was different. Bardock's aura wasn't just power— it was divine pressure. Polunga could feel it clearly. This Saiyan wasn't a normal mortal anymore. He had reached a level even gods would recognize.
"You… you…" Polunga's voice shook.
For a dragon, there was no shame in admitting it. Shenron may have been born from the Dragon God's power, but in the end, he was still just a dragon. Not a true god.
Compared to someone like Bardock, who stood on the edge of divinity, even Polunga had to bow his head.
Bardock smiled calmly. "Good. Now we can talk. I don't want to keep forcing you."
The crowd of Namekians couldn't believe their eyes. Their great Shenron, Polunga, was actually speaking with respect to Bardock— almost flattering him.
"My apologies… forgive this dragon for being rude earlier," Polunga said.
His arrogance was gone. In its place was humility.
Bardock nodded, satisfied, then turned to the stunned Elder. He didn't even bother with him anymore. Instead, Bardock closed his eyes, reaching out with his mind.
In the next instant, his spirit linked directly with Polunga's. A private realm opened where only the two of them existed.
No interruptions. No fear of being overheard.
…
Bardock's voice rang out in the mental space:
"Now I'll make my wish. But it must stay secret— no one else can know. My existence is too dangerous."
His first wish… the one that mattered above all else:
To understand the power of time itself— and to gain the ability to travel through time and space.
"I'm sorry, Bardock. I can't grant that wish."
Porunga hesitated before answering Bardock's first request.
Time travel… moving through space and time itself. While Porunga had the power to shift time a little—like sending someone to a fixed point—he couldn't just give that ability to someone else.
It was beyond his limits.
Bardock sighed, shaking his head.
"I knew it… I didn't expect much, but still… it's disappointing."
Then he looked Porunga straight in the eye.
"As , you should've realized it from this wish—I don't belong to this time and space!"
Bardock had no reason to hide anymore. The trust was already built. Porunga wouldn't spread his secret.
Porunga's eyes widened, his giant form trembling. He had seen hints of this truth but chose to ignore it. Now, hearing Bardock admit it made him uneasy.
"Yes… I can see it. You aren't from this era. You came here from millions of years in the future. But for some reason, you can't return…" Porunga paused, then added carefully, "If it's only to send you back to the future, I might be able to help."
Bardock gave a small smile.
"You're right… but I don't just need to go back. I need the ability to move freely through time and space! I have things to do in the future… and things to protect here!"
He clenched his fist, his voice heavy with emotion.
"I've put down roots in this time. I have a wife and children here… but in the future, I also have a wife and son. You understand how I feel, don't you?!"
Porunga hesitated, his massive body sweating under the pressure of Bardock's words. He felt trapped, pulled into Bardock's fate whether he wanted to or not.
Bardock's next words made him freeze.
"If I can't go back and forth, then… can you bring my wife and son from the future to this era?"
Porunga's eyes widened. He stayed silent for a long time before finally answering.
"I'm sorry. Even with my power, I cannot pull someone from millions of years in the future. There is no medium that connects them to this era… it cannot be done."
Bardock let out a long breath, forcing a smile.
"So not even you can do it. That means I'll need the Super Dragon Balls… and summon Super Shenron."
At the mention of them, Porunga flinched.
"If it's Super Shenron, then yes, it should be possible. But you must know—the Super Dragon Balls are scattered across two universes. Finding them is no simple task…"
Bardock nodded.
"Of course I know. That's why I want the coordinates. That can count as one wish, right?"
Porunga hesitated again, sweat dripping down his massive form.
"That wish… I still cannot grant."
Bardock's expression hardened.
"Not even that? I searched for years to summon you, Porunga. I thought you were stronger than Earth's Shenron, but if you can't do this… then what's the point?"
Porunga lowered his head.
"I can grant many wishes… but those tied to the very rules of the universe are beyond me."
Bardock's eyes lit up with an idea.
"Then… is it because your power isn't enough? If I gave you energy—could you grant it?"
Porunga shook his head.
"Wish power isn't the same as energy. Even if you gave me all your strength, it would change nothing. The rules themselves cannot be broken… unless…"
He stopped, looking toward the heavens.
Bardock narrowed his eyes.
"Unless I reach a higher realm… find the one who creates the rules… or become the one who makes them."
Porunga didn't deny it.
"Super Shenron is the only way."
Bardock crossed his arms and nodded slowly. He had expected this outcome. If the first plan failed, he would move to the next.
"Fine. Then I'll change my wish. I want the full star map of this universe. That should be possible, right?"
Porunga nodded.
"Yes… but understand, the universe is always shifting. I can only give you the map as it is right now."
