Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Transformation, Just One Punch!

Chapter 20: Transformation, Just One Punch!

Kuangsha City Warrior Sub-Temple.

At this moment, countless knights and warriors stood in place, seemingly pondering something.

Nalan Shu sat at the foremost seat, facing a muscular middle-aged man who was glaring provocatively at him.

This man was the head of the Kuangsha City Warrior Sub-Temple and an old acquaintance of Nalan Shu.

In the designated area for participants, opposite Li Xin, sat a girl clad in a special crimson armor. She wore gauntlets linked to shields attached to her arms. Her eyes were closed, showing complete disinterest in everything around her.

The girl's height was about the same as Li Xin's. Although only fifteen years old, she was already close to 1.7 meters tall. Her black ponytail was neat and sharp, and her face radiated gentleness.

But was she truly gentle?

Li Xin stared at the girl, feeling the thick, oppressive aura of bloodlust surrounding her. Even though Li Xin had slain many magical beasts and demons, she still felt a heavy pressure.

This made Li Xin extremely cautious.

The girl was none other than Wang Yuanyuan, the one blessed with the Giant Spirit God bloodline.

"I wonder what my little brother's situation is now. At the moment, we can only rely on him. If it were me facing that girl, I might hold out for a while but would surely lose within a few rounds."

Li Xin evaluated the situation carefully.

Suddenly, Wang Yuanyuan opened her eyes and glanced at Li Xin.

"Is your participant not here yet?" she asked.

"I don't know. We can't get in touch with him," Li Xin replied, shaking her head.

"Probably too scared," Wang Yuanyuan said calmly.

She didn't mock or ridicule. For her, strength was everything. Weaklings weren't even worth her disdain.

"My brother?" Li Xin smiled bitterly. She knew Ye Ling would never be afraid of something like this.

But... could something have happened?

"Hall Master Nalan, shouldn't we start already?"

"The delay is getting excessive. Even if your knights have patience, we warriors don't have that luxury."

The Kuangsha Temple Master said with a relaxed smile. The morale of his side was rising sharply.

A great thing!

A huge advantage!

Nalan Shu sighed helplessly, his heart heavy with frustration.

It seemed they would have to suffer humiliation today.

He didn't blame Ye Ling, just felt helpless.

"Begin—" Just as Nalan Shu was about to announce the start, the grand gates of the Kuangsha Sub-Temple suddenly swung open.

A young figure strode in.

"Sorry for the delay, Uncle Nalan. I made you all wait," the boy said.

It was Ye Ling.

Ye Ling quickly walked toward them. The warriors watching were all stunned.

The reason was simple.

He looked far too young.

Although Ye Ling had a mature mind, his youthful appearance betrayed his actual age.

Compared to the others, who were all at least fifteen years old or more, Ye Ling looked noticeably younger.

Seeing this, many of the warriors chuckled.

How strong could someone so young possibly be?

Even though the battle rules allowed ages from ten to twenty, among all the participants, Ye Ling was clearly the youngest.

Wang Yuanyuan, unlike the others in the Warrior Sub-Temple, did not laugh.

"Not bad. Despite his young appearance, he seems to have remarkable talent," she commented, analyzing Ye Ling.

"Especially his physique. It looks like he temporarily boosted his external spiritual power."

She silently concluded that Ye Ling might turn out to be the most troublesome opponent among the enemies.

"Where have you been? Almost missed the start," Li Xin asked curiously as Ye Ling approached.

She then pinched his arm in surprise.

Hmm.

It was quite firm.

From afar, it wasn't obvious, but up close, it became clear—Ye Ling's body was packed with muscle.

Not the kind developed through mere physical training, but muscles brimming with vitality and spirit energy.

Even Nalan Shu, a fifth-tier powerhouse, didn't have such muscle.

Of course, Nalan Shu weighed three to four hundred pounds, almost all of it fat. Without his cultivation, he probably couldn't even walk properly.

Ye Ling's current condition was a result of awakening the Golden Dragon King bloodline, and he had yet to return to his normal state.

"I was cultivating and broke through a bottleneck. That's why," Ye Ling explained.

Seeing Ye Ling arrive, Nalan Shu and the others nodded, and soon, the tournament officially began.

Ye Ling's first opponent was an older warrior, whose strength was slightly weaker than Li Xin's.

Aside from Wang Yuanyuan, he was the strongest in the Kuangsha Sub-Temple—their former top fighter.

When the crowd saw Ye Ling assigned to fight him, many of the Kuangsha warriors laughed.

This warrior had a bit of a grudge against Li Xin, having nearly defeated her in the last competition before she pulled a comeback.

"You're Li Xin's younger brother, right?" he said.

"I've heard about you for a long time. This time, I'll defeat you first, and then later, I'll defeat Li Xin too."

Ye Ling simply nodded, signaling him to come over.

He didn't even draw his Angelic Holy Sword—he stood there barehanded, without any protection.

Seeing this, the warrior grew furious.

How arrogant!

Fueled by anger, he charged at Ye Ling, brandishing a massive broadsword.

But Ye Ling had no intention of engaging him seriously.

After a brief glance, he knew there was only one real opponent in this place—Wang Yuanyuan.

Watching the incoming blade, Ye Ling casually sidestepped and, with a simple punch to the opponent's abdomen—

The warrior collapsed instantly, dropping his sword.

So much for the "top fighter."

The watching warriors were stunned.

What was this?!

Was Li Xin's little brother actually stronger than her?

"Looks like he's stronger than I thought," Wang Yuanyuan muttered with a faint smile, her eyes gleaming as she stared at the arena.

This was going to be interesting.

Win or lose, fighting a strong opponent was what she truly craved.
