Chapter 23: Defeating Wang Yuanyuan, Unlocking the Forging Technique!
Wang Yuanyuan really wanted to curse out loud.
'You've got way too many amplification skills! I've already pulled out all my cards—my ultimate trump move!'
And yet Ye Ling was still going strong.
Wang Yuanyuan felt like vomiting blood, but she didn't say much. She simply gripped her Titan God Shield tightly, her aura exploding, and without hesitation, launched a relentless assault on Ye Ling.
Her attacks were sharp and terrifying, packed with overwhelming force.
She had clearly reached the level of a Grand Knight. After infusing her inner spiritual power into each strike, their power had increased immensely.
It could be said that—excluding Ye Ling, Nalan Shu, and the Kuangsha City Lord—no one else present, whether knight or warrior, could even come close to standing against Wang Yuanyuan!
That much was certain.
Wang Yuanyuan's strength was absolutely formidable!
But unfortunately, the one she was facing… was Ye Ling.
Ye Ling was able to control and block every one of her attacks. And thanks to the boost from his Golden Dragon Body, he didn't even feel much pain from them.
"Let's finish this quickly," Ye Ling said as he defended and watched for an opening.
"Gladly," Wang Yuanyuan nodded, her eyes flashing with even fiercer fighting spirit. Her force increased again.
Seeing this, Ye Ling began channeling his inner spiritual power into his Golden Dragon Claw. Until now, he had only been relying on his bloodline and physical strength in the fight against Wang Yuanyuan. He hadn't even used his spiritual power.
The two of them clashed once again.
There were no words between them now. No emotions. Only pure, silent battle—strike after strike.
Though the arena was indoors and completely sealed, their fight had stirred up clouds of dust as if it were a battlefield. It was truly intense.
After a while, the smoke dispersed, and the outcome became clear.
Wang Yuanyuan was half-kneeling on the ground, barely holding herself up with the Titan God Shield. It was clear how much she had drained herself.
Ye Ling, though sweating slightly, was still in excellent condition overall. He could easily continue fighting if necessary.
"That was amazing!" Wang Yuanyuan shouted. It had been an exhilarating and satisfying battle—but she still felt a bit unwilling to accept the result.
Then, with a flash from her storage space, a burst of light appeared—three gemstones materialized in her hand. She was preparing to continue the fight.
But at that moment, Ye Ling reached out and gently grabbed her jade-like hand, stopping her next move.
"What? Not planning to keep going?" Wang Yuanyuan forced herself to stand, looking at Ye Ling in confusion.
Ye Ling shook his head. "If we keep going, your body won't be able to handle it."
"No, I still can!" Wang Yuanyuan said stubbornly.
"I still have other trump cards," Ye Ling replied truthfully.
"So do I!" Wang Yuanyuan persisted. She wanted to keep fighting. She didn't mind losing—but she had to give it everything she had.
"I'm a knight, but did you ever see me use light-based spiritual power or any knight abilities? I've only used physical strength to fight you, haven't I?"
"And if you look at our conditions right now, I'm clearly in a better state than you. If you force another power-up, you'll be the one to collapse—not me. And here's another reminder: my spiritual talent is no weaker than my physical strength."
Wang Yuanyuan paused in shock after hearing that. She seemed to consider many things, then finally let out a sigh, retracted the Titan God Shield, and, using Ye Ling's support, barely managed to stand up.
"I lost."
"You're really strong," she said.
Then her eyes sparkled. "But I'm not giving up. I've only ever been interested in strong people. You're part of the Bright Moon Branch, right? Once I've improved my strength, I'll come find you there for a rematch!"
Wang Yuanyuan looked seriously at Ye Ling. If eyes could duel, she'd have fought him for hundreds of rounds already.
They were standing very close. Wang Yuanyuan didn't mind the proximity—they were nearly touching.
Watching from the side, Li Xin bit her lip a little.
That was her little brother Ye Ling!
With a beautiful girl standing so close to him, it was normal for Ye Ling to maybe have some thoughts. But for him, there was still one more important thing he had to do.

[Ding, sign-in successful. Obtained: Forging Technique – Divine Smith's Notes (Super Comprehension + Metal Affinity).]
"Forging technique?" Ye Ling muttered. "Well now, this Kuangsha Branch really gave me a lot. First, the front half of the Golden Dragon King bloodline massively boosted my strength. And now, I get a forging method that just so happens to require incredible power?"
Forging technique.
He was very familiar with that!
Forging had shown early signs of development back in Douluo 1, but it wasn't until Douluo 3 that it truly flourished and formed a complete system.
Blacksmiths were divided into nine levels:
Level 1 and 2 were Apprentice rank,
Level 3 and 4 were Master rank,
Level 5 and 6 were Artisan rank,
Level 7 and 8 were Saint Smith rank,
And the highest, Level 9, was Divine Smith.
Forging could produce soul tools and other special items. Just imagine bringing some God-Slaying grade soul-guided missiles into battle—even a Demon God Emperor would have to think twice.
And of course, when it came to forging, there was one thing that couldn't be ignored—
Mechasuits!
Yes, the mechasuits introduced in Douluo 3 had terrifying amplification abilities. Even the lowest-grade One-Word Mechasuits far surpassed standard demon-grade battle armor. By normal standards, they were at least Radiant-level. And the synergy of all the spiritual inscriptions they contained made them incomparable to any regular armor.
Above Radiant, just below Legendary!
Ye Ling was absolutely thrilled.
He had wanted to try it before—and now, even more so.
The more he thought about it, the more eager he became.
When he came back to his senses, Wang Yuanyuan had already left. She spoke briefly with the Kuangsha City Lord before leaving, seemingly planning to abandon Kuangsha City altogether.
The Kuangsha City Lord watched her go, then turned to Nalan Shu and said solemnly, "This time, you win again."
He then glanced up at Ye Ling and sighed. If they had someone like Ye Ling—a terrifying prodigy—would they ever need to worry?
The Bright Moon Branch really had luck on its side!
Nalan Shu, meanwhile, watched with a broad grin—what a win!
Ye Ling quickly walked over, and someone grabbed his right hand, trying to get a closer look at his Golden Dragon Claw. But by then, Ye Ling had already returned to normal.
Li Xin also asked, "Little brother, where's your claw?"
"Of course I retracted it. We're not fighting anymore—what, should I leave it out to scratch my head?" Ye Ling joked.
"You'd better not! One swipe from that thing and your head's gone," Li Xin retorted, then added curiously, "But seriously, what's up with your strength? This is the first time I've seen you show something like that."
"This is a gift from the Dragon God—a good friend of the God of Light! What do you think, Sister Xin'er? Jealous?" Ye Ling teased with a grin.
"Ye Ling!" Li Xin gritted her teeth. She didn't want to believe it—especially since it wasn't the first time he had fooled her.
As the two bantered, the surrounding knights looked on with envy.
Ye Ling clearly had a long and bright path ahead. If they could gain his favor, they might soar as well.
In the past, they used to think Li Xin was just being foolish. She was a top-tier talent—Hell Rose herself! And instead of focusing on cultivation, she'd run off to become someone's big sister?
What else could that be but stupidity?
But now that Ye Ling had begun to show his edge, they all saw him in a different light.
Their vision had never been as far-reaching as Li Xin's.
Still, they knew very well—if they only thought in terms of personal gain, it wouldn't work. Li Xin had chosen to help Ye Ling not because he had shown incredible talent, but because she truly saw him as her little brother.
"Let's go. Time to head back," Nalan Shu came over and said as he watched the group.
But his eyes remained fixed on Ye Ling, full of admiration. Clearly, he was very pleased.
This was a moment of pride!
Ye Ling didn't say much. He simply followed Nalan Shu and returned with the group.
On the way, he began digesting the knowledge of the Forging Technique and the Divine Smith's Notes, already planning to begin experimenting as soon as they got back.
He wanted a mechasuit!
