HISD Chapter 65 Altering Reality, Shattered Mind

Westview, a local accounting firm.

Yi Meng, playing the role of Vision, carried his briefcase into the office, following the carefully constructed false memories, and made his way to the second-floor office of the wooden house.

The office was shared by several people. Six simple wooden desks lined the room, and five were occupied by employees sweating over piles of data files stacked like small mountains.

Yi Meng entered without drawing attention and sat at the only empty desk.

His own desk was buried under thick stacks of order documents that needed processing.

The room echoed with the continuous rustle of paper and the sound of manual calculations.

It was clear—the gray, colorless illusion of Westview had been designed by the witch to mimic the 1950s, an era just after World War II without widespread computers.

Yi Meng thought, this was the perfect chance to investigate the town's current state.

Focusing his mind, Yi Meng's consciousness transformed into a barely visible red virtual static, spreading outside the office to scan all connected electronic devices.

Fortunately, in this reborn Vision body, his AI abilities had not diminished—they had grown stronger.

And Vision's mechanical body itself could serve as a top-tier computer terminal. Only now, Yi Meng's primary consciousness was "trapped" in Vision's body, limited to remote connections.

In an instant, his thought signals swept across the entire twenty-square-kilometer town.

He discovered that the modern town had been altered by Wanda into a 1950s virtual Westview—no computers, no phones, only black-and-white televisions and wired radios.

This was not an illusion—it was reality manipulation.

The town's 3,000 residents lived in accordance with false memories. On the outskirts, hundreds of townsfolk stood motionless, like NPCs, controlled by Wanda's Chaos power.

"These residents are real, just with modified identities. Including Scarlet Witch… what about me?" Yi Meng wondered.

Was his Vision body real, or just a fabrication that would vanish outside Westview?

He felt he was beginning to uncover a way out of the town.

Focusing again, his sharp AI consciousness detected several signal lines reaching from the town outward, connecting directly to Wanda's wooden house.

It seemed the town's anomaly had drawn external attention.

Perfect.

Yi Meng smiled, processing desk files while tracing the signals in reverse from the town to an external base.

Soon, he found it.

The signal originated from a temporary base on a formerly empty field outside Westview, marked with a sword logo, guarded by nearly a hundred armed personnel.

It was the Sword Bureau.

Yi Meng's AI mind silently infiltrated the base's network, taking control.

Instantly, a flood of internal intelligence poured into his mind, quickly processed by his AI abilities.

So it was true.

The Sword Bureau had long acquired Vision's dismantled mechanical body, attempting to rebuild it as a new weapon. Under the guise of AI research, they were creating a weapon as powerful as Vision.

Recently, Wanda had stormed the Bureau and taken the parts.

So this Vision body Yi Meng inhabited was a combination of leftover parts and Wanda's Chaos-powered reconstruction—a body that only existed within Westview.

He was a fusion of dream and illusion, not fully real.

Clenching his fists, an inexplicable anger surged—he wanted to destroy the Sword Bureau.

Was this anger from Vision's power, or his own heart? Or was it sympathy for Wanda, a supreme being capable of killing him?

"Has my consciousness already been subtly manipulated by her subconscious?" Yi Meng's heart raced, intensifying his urge to escape Wanda's control.

Rising from the chair, he touched his forehead, where a faint yellow glow appeared.

A warm light washed over him, calming and easing his mind.

It was the power of the Mind Stone.

Yi Meng froze. The Mind Stone had been destroyed by Thanos.

Right.

This was a fragment, obtained by Wanda and integrated into this Vision body.

Even as a fragment, it allowed near-perfect control over the mind.

Imagine if it were complete.

His mechanical core trembled. With a full Mind Stone, his AI self could manipulate reality, enhancing his Doomsday-level powers.

Could Wanda repair the Mind Stone? Yi Meng had to consider it.

He would have to return.

Yi Meng grabbed his briefcase and silently left the office.

Only then did the accountants realize what had happened.

"Did Yi Meng just come here?"

"He finished a full day's work in no time."

"What kind of walking computer is this?"

Back at the house, Yi Meng unlocked the door to find Wanda sitting on the sofa, deep in thought. Beside her was a beautiful, curvy woman in her thirties.

The black-haired woman smiled seductively. "Ah, Vision is back."

The Mind Stone fragment in Yi Meng's body twitched. He looked at Wanda calmly. "Wanda, who is this guest?"

Startled from her thoughts, Wanda replied quickly, "She's our neighbor, Agnes. She came to give me some advice."

"What advice?" Yi Meng asked.

Wanda hesitated, blushing.

Yi Meng's mechanical core clicked.

Agnes seemed perceptive, standing and saying cheerfully, "I'll leave now, not to disturb the newlyweds."

Wanda smiled. "Come again, I'll host you properly, Mrs. Agnes."

"No problem."

Agnes adjusted her old-fashioned skirt and walked past Yi Meng, winking. "Vision, next time I'll bring you a book."

"The title? How to Cherish and Keep Your Wife."
