{MORGANNA'S POV}
The cavern was alive with light and sound.
Lanterns glimmered like captured stars against the crystal walls, waterfalls crashed down into stone-carved pools, and the hum of magic filled the air like a heartbeat.
My people stood gathered together in the vast open clearing at the heart of this sanctuary as Alistair stepped forward to meet them.
His voice echoed loud and clear, as he began to speak. "Brothers and sisters of Nevermoor. I know the cost of your journey here. I know how many you have lost. Too many sons, too many daughters, too many mothers and fathers. You fled not by choice, but for survival. I thank the Goddess that you all managed to make it here, alive."
A murmur moved through my people, some of their heads bowed, some cried silently.
