{AURORA'S POV}
The wind whipped past my ear as I dropped from the tree, branches scratching against my arms before I slammed into something solid. A grunt escaped beneath me as both of us crashed to the ground in a tangled heap.
My breath caught. For a heartbeat, I was staring into the narrow slit of a bone-white helm, the Purifier's eyes glaring back at me. His gauntleted hand shot for my throat but I rolled away, dirt scraping against my palms as I scrambled to my feet.
The Purifier rose in a single fluid motion, white cloak snapping behind him. His sword hissed free of its sheath, catching the sunlight as he leveled it at me.
My heart started beating fast. The air prickled around me, a dangerous pressure building in my veins. I felt it surge down my arms, pooling at the tips of my fingers until sparks danced across my skin.
Raising his blade high, he charged, his boots pounding against the forest floor.
I thrust my hand out, screaming at the top of my lungs.
"Aetherre!"
