Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 I need music! Thief class!

"What's going on down there?" Kaisen asked, a bit curious.

"A midnight duel between Slytherin and Gryffindor, nothing to see," Snape said coldly.

It was then that Kaisen looked towards the source of the noise, but unfortunately, he was too far away to hear what was being said.

And both sides were familiar faces: Harry, Neville, Ron, and Hermione, four Gryffindor Little Wizards.

Listening to Harry and Neville chat earlier, Kaisen had thought their relationship with Hermione wasn't entirely good, but it seemed that after Hermione helped Neville and gave him advice to come to his office that day, their relationship improved.

The Slytherin Little Wizards on the other side were also familiar; Draco Malfoy was leading them, and he didn't recognize the other two.

However, speaking of it, Draco Malfoy's father, Lucius Malfoy, seemed to exude that subtle restraint and distance of the upper class, but his son was full of flamboyance and arrogance.

Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that their bone structure and hair were almost identical, he would have suspected...

Cannot suspect, it would be impolite to suspect further.

"Is no one going to stop them?" Kaisen asked Snape again.

"We could, but there's no need. Slytherin and Gryffindor have been fighting for so many years; these small matters don't matter. At most, there will be some busybodies."

"Busybody?"

"That Squib."

"...Mr. Filch? He's a Squib?"

"And a Squib who refuses to accept his fate. Most of the salary Dumbledore has given him over the years has gone to swindlers targeting wealthy Squibs, batch after batch," Snape explained, a rare occurrence.

"Understood." Kaisen nodded. The farce of the dinner did not cause the slightest ripple.

Just as he finished dinner and was about to return to his office, Snape suddenly spoke.

"By the way, you and I need to go to that corridor later. The harmless Potion you told me about last time has been refined. It's a Draught of Living Death that can take effect through air or skin contact, but I still need to load it into your Alchemy creation."

"No problem. Now?"

"Right now."

The two left the Great Hall and headed directly towards that corridor.

As the two reached the outside of the empty classroom, a record player suddenly appeared in Kaisen's hand, and in his other hand was a stack of records, like fanned-out playing cards, which he was sifting through.

"What are you doing?"

"Hagrid said that if you play music for this Cerberus, you can make him fall asleep. I'm choosing one now."

"There's no need for that." Snape shook his head, pulled out his wand, and walked straight in.

"It's just an animal. All it needs is a Stupefy..."

"Ah!"

"I need music! Music! Music!" [music]

Kaisen's mouth twitched uncontrollably. He immediately disregarded the record player and records in his hand, and an obsidian flew out of his hand, splitting into three in mid-air and heavily striking the Cerberus's three heads.

"Hiss... That beast bites fast." Snape pulled up his trouser leg, looking at the bloody wound on his calf.

"You were too careless." Kaisen, understanding, helped Snape say the excuse he was too embarrassed to utter.

"Excuse me, help me a little."

"Of course." Kaisen reached out and supported Snape's shoulder, while the latter pulled a bottle of bright red Potion from his pocket and poured it directly onto the wound on his calf.

"Do you have any bandages or anything?"

"Uh, I think this should be enough, but it's not disinfected." Kaisen pulled out a large piece of wool, balled it up, and then tore it.

"It's fine." Snape took it and then sprinkled more Potion on it.

"That should do it."

Snape nodded, bent down to bandage the wound, and then the two continued through the challenges until the final one.

This once again confirmed the value of the checkpoints Hagrid had set up.

The other Professors, including Kaisen, had set up their parts for Quirrell and Harry to play through.

Only Hagrid had the goal of killing intruders.

That's why he's so sincere.

The two loaded the Potion into the launcher. Midway, Kaisen picked up a bottle of Potion and looked at it curiously.

"This Potion?"

"The real deal."

"Alright, although our Potion might not be useful this time."

"We can recover it later. Let's go."

The two returned to the empty classroom containing the Cerberus. Kaisen tentatively took out a feather and tested the large dog's breathing.

Since he wasn't sure if this big guy had three sets of lungs, he specifically tested all three heads.

He only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming they were all alive.

After all, Hagrid loves magical creatures so much; if this big guy died, he would be very sad.

"Are you alright with your injury?" He then looked at Snape.

"The Cerberus's teeth have Dark Arts magic. Healing Potions and dittany are useless; it can only heal on its own."

"Uh, do you need my help, like a wheelchair or something? Don't worry, it's absolutely magic-driven; you won't have to push the wheels yourself."

"No need." Snape's mouth twitched.

"Alright, if you need anything, just have a student come find me, with a sealed envelope."

"....If I need to, I will."

"Mm-hmm, do you want me to help you back to your office?"

"No."

Snape left alone, his face ashen, while the two points of goodwill from Snape displayed in front of Kaisen ruthlessly betrayed his feigned persona.

"Isn't this just pure tsundere?" Kaisen muttered, somewhat confused.

Returning to his office, he looked at the timetable propped on his desk. No classes tomorrow, excellent. He could stay up late tonight, or even not sleep at all.

This made him once again marvel at the comfort of being an elective Professor at Hogwarts, compared to the mandatory Professors who taught seven grades and four houses, with almost full schedules every day, always starting early.

The elective Professors were comfortable by more than just a little bit.

Since the Little Wizards had the right not to choose this course, most, if not all, grades attended together from all four houses. This meant there were only four classes a week.

If Kaisen were even harder on himself and taught all four classes in one day, he would have almost a full holiday, purely working one day and resting six.

However, he didn't do that. Firstly, it was indeed too tiring. Secondly, working one day and resting six was highly likely to attract the gaze of unspeakable beings.

And then they would assign him a ton of tasks.

He was talking about Dumbledore!

Kaisen's overthinking successfully made him lose his refined enjoyment of quietly listening to records in his office.
