"Poor Professor Kaisen," Draco said, looking at Kaisen with a strange, compassionate gaze that shouldn't have been on his face, making the latter feel a weird sensation.
Never in his life had he wanted to learn Obliviate as much as he did now.
Under that strange gaze, he calmly took off his Wizard robe, revealing the black shirt underneath.
"Malfoy, what are you doing here?" The others didn't have a good expression for Malfoy.
"Cough, cough…" Kaisen suddenly coughed, drawing everyone's attention. "Harry, strictly speaking, you shouldn't say that, because this is Hagrid's home."
Hagrid shrugged. "I don't mind. I welcome all Little Wizards to visit me."
"You're not bad, big guy," Draco said, with a rare politeness.
Alright. Harry and the other three pinched their noses and moved the sofa they were sitting on, making room for Draco. "You still haven't answered my question."
"I was coming back from the Quidditch Pitch and heard you talking about a Dragon, so I came to check it out. I didn't see a Dragon, but I did see… um… you crying quite ugly, big guy."
Hagrid awkwardly wiped away the remaining tears from the corners of his eyes. "You can call me Hagrid."
"Okay, Hagrid."
"Hmm, that's how it is. I was initially drawn by the Dragon, but when I came in, I didn't…"
There was a long silence, and then he said in a slightly off-key voice, "Is this a Dragon egg?"
"Yes, and it should be close to hatching," Hagrid said, sitting on the sofa and looking at the Dragon egg in the fireplace with satisfaction.
"What are you up to now?" Neville's tone was equally stiff.
"Is it wrong for me to like it?"
No sooner had Draco finished speaking than the Dragon egg in the fireplace trembled. Hagrid looked at the Dragon egg, then at Kaisen, a bit flustered. "Should I put out the fire? Will it hurt the little fellow?"
And Kaisen… Kaisen knew nothing about Dragons.
In the end, it was Draco who spoke. "You can put out the fire now…"
Everyone looked at him, and Draco rolled his eyes. "Why are you all looking at me? This Dragon egg looks like a Norwegian Ridgeback. It's best not to have fire when a Norwegian Ridgeback hatches… Of course, it's not impossible with fire, but it's best to put it out."
Hagrid nodded, pressed a button, and the flames in the fireplace instantly extinguished, revealing two magma blocks.
It was then that Draco noticed that this fireplace didn't even have fuel. After all, among the few seven people in this small hut, Hagrid, Harry, and Hermione had only a rudimentary understanding of Alchemy. Ron's family was poor, and his exposure to Alchemy was through his twin brothers' and his father's half-baked Alchemy.
In Neville's family, there was no one known to be skilled in Alchemy, and they had gradually withdrawn from the core of the magic world in recent years…
Draco specifically looked at Kaisen. This Alchemist, who had received apprentice training since childhood, could be said to have the least concept of his own Alchemy. For example, valuable Alchemy objects became fireplace switches, and achievements that other Alchemists could immerse themselves in were given to the Little Wizards. Plus, there was the constant passive Versailles…
It could be said that among the seven people in this room, he was the only one who knew his stuff.
"Hmm… Professor Kaisen, do you still accept whole-house customization?" he asked, bracing himself.
After all, he was prepared for the Professor to utter words at minus 273.15 degrees from his 36-degree mouth, such as six-figure Galleons and the like.
Kaisen's reply made his mouth twitch uncontrollably.
"I don't have any plans to continue other customizations for now, because before that, I want to renovate Hogwarts… It's just a pity that Dumbledore won't let me blow it up, so I can only design it slowly, bit by bit."
"Hmm… alright."
Crack!
The sound of an eggshell breaking interrupted the conversation that was about to resume in the room. Everyone's eyes turned to the egg standing on the obsidian countertop.
A crack had already appeared on it, and soon the crack grew larger and larger, until finally, an ugly little Dragon head emerged from it.
Kaisen, Hagrid, and Draco's eyes were all drawn to this small, ugly Dragon head.
Harry and the other three huddled together, whispering.
"What do we do? I remember Hogwarts isn't allowed to keep Dragons," Hermione whispered.
"…Should we remind Hagrid?" Neville asked.
"No, Malfoy is here. If he remembers this, he'll definitely use it to blackmail us!" Ron said decisively.
"Then what do we do? Do we just stay put? He'll remember it eventually anyway!" Ron said.
"…Do you know Obliviate?" Hermione suddenly said.
Neville understood. His hand began to stray towards a hard rock cake on the plate, intending to demonstrate a physical Obliviate.
"Um… Can't we just ask Professor Kaisen to vouch for us? And Neville, can you please put down that rock cake? That's not Obliviate, that's Avada Kedavra," Harry whispered.
"Is that okay?" Neville put down the rock cake.
"It should be, I think Professor Kaisen and Dumbledore are on good terms…"
The few of them were about to continue planning when Draco interrupted, "What are you all whispering about?"
"Nothing."
Draco pouted and looked at Hagrid again. "Big guy, how do you plan to house it? From what I know, a Norwegian Ridgeback can outgrow this house in less than a month."
"Um… I'll ask Dumbledore to help me find a Dragon sanctuary and send him there."
"Oh, is that so… My house is quite big, I mean the Dragon sanctuary…"
"I can contact Charlie, he works at a Dragon sanctuary."
The two spoke in unison.
The air was invisibly filled with a hint of gunpowder.
Hagrid also felt this strange atmosphere. He was about to look at Kaisen, but the latter was a step ahead and looked at the wristwatch on his wrist.
"Alright, Little Wizards, it's curfew time before we knew it. If you don't want to be caught by Filch, leave now. I'll see you out."
Their clashing gazes stopped. They each snorted and stood up.
After Kaisen left Hagrid's Hut, he released three fluorite to orbit around himself, leading the five Little Wizards back to the Castle. It wasn't until the six of them were almost at the entrance of the Slytherin common room that he heard a sudden commotion behind him.
Neville and Ron had already pulled out their wands, ready to physically punish Draco and get points deducted, while Harry and Hermione were still bewildered, not knowing what had happened.
And Kaisen, he also didn't know what had happened.
Neville noticed Kaisen's confusion and quickly explained, "Malfoy said Hermione was… was… a Mudblood."
