However, amidst the glittering glory of these nobles stood a prominent family in the small town of Astorn—the Acorns. The Acorns were known to possess considerable assets and wealth, but their status was far from honorable. They were neither nobles nor rulers. Therefore, almost all of their wealth was routinely seized or extorted by other noble families.
Each generation of the Acrowns was forced into submission. They could only bow their heads, accept humiliation, and hope that one day they would still be allowed to live in the land where they were born.
Among this miserable lineage, the last child was born in the city of Houston, Kyne Acorn—the fourth child of William Acorn and Mia Acorn.
