GTAG Chapter 59: Blade
Whether the world was in chaos or not, the Godzilla Cult decided.
Through the sale of bioengineered monsters as weapons, the Godzilla Cult plunged countless nations into turmoil. Some governments collapsed and reshuffled multiple times.
But the most anxious of all was still the United States.
They had originally sought to seize the Cult's technology. Instead, they lost resources, credibility, and influence, while their enemies gained.
Worse yet, with those monsters falling into the hands of other nations, reverse-engineering was inevitable. The Cult's technology would soon become public knowledge.
That was unacceptable.
A new offensive against the Godzilla Cult began in full force.
But what they did not expect was this—if they could plant spies inside the Cult, then why couldn't the Cult recruit their people?
And this was a capitalist nation, where temptation was everywhere.
Especially among the corporations—when faced with the promise of extended life, how many could resist?
On the surface, the Godzilla Cult and the United States were locked in fierce conflict.
But behind the scenes, most of America's elites were already dealing closely with the Cult.
Only a handful of stubborn fools continued their crusade, and if not for their usefulness as distractions, the Cult would have eliminated them long ago.
Thus, the world entered a strange balance, one that lasted many years.
...
Meanwhile, within Godzilla's domain, the Monster Factory had spent the last decade breeding several new beasts.
On average, it could produce one monster every year or so.
Among them, ranged-attack specialists were the most numerous.
Four of them had been created, positioned at the four corners of the Monster Factory.
These creatures were dubbed "Turrets." Each had three pairs of legs, a cylindrical upper body rising upward, and a swollen lower body packed with fatty tissue. A massive mouth filled with jagged teeth split its center, while enormous eyes glared forward, making the creature look like a grotesque cannon.
The electromagnetic blasts they fired were even more powerful than those of the Electrobeasts.
The cylindrical torso stabilized their aim. The fatty lower body generated immense electrical power. Their oversized eyes locked onto every target in sight.
Godzilla even embedded bio-radars into their bodies, allowing them to detect every target within range.
These Turrets provided terrifying firepower to defend the Monster Factory.
If not for the Factory's limited capacity, Godzilla would have mass-produced them, filling his undersea temple with living artillery.
Alongside the Turrets were three melee specialists—Blades—and one heavily armored guardian—Heavy Crab.
The Blades resembled monstrous mantises, though far more dangerous than any insect on Earth.
The Heavy Crab was exactly as Godzilla envisioned: a monster with a body encased in thick carapace. Its limbs and head could withdraw into a seamless defensive shell, leaving no weakness exposed.
Godzilla had originally considered building a creature with electromagnetic pulses and discharge abilities. But since discharging energy was already standard across most monsters, he decided instead to give the Heavy Crab EMP abilities as its unique edge.
With these optimized forms, Godzilla ordered the Monster Factory to continue breeding Turrets, Blades, and Heavy Crabs.
...
In the decade that followed, Godzilla did not abandon his search for other worlds.
He discovered several with monsters, but none worth his personal attention.
Though some worlds contained oddities, they were too trivial to justify his time. Better to simply rest in his own realm.
But with more monsters at his disposal, a new idea struck him.
Perhaps there was another way.
Acting on impulse, Godzilla opened a stable passage to another world—not for himself, but for one of his creations.
The energy cost was lower than expected, the process surprisingly smooth.
A towering portal, a hundred meters tall, shimmered before him. Godzilla summoned a Blade and sent it through.
This time, Godzilla did not close the rift. Instead, he shrank it to less than a millimeter, concealing it perfectly.
Then he crouched beside it, focusing his mind on the Blade's consciousness in the other world.
Would the psychic link hold across dimensions? He wasn't certain.
But with an open channel, the connection was stable, strong, and seamless.
Satisfied, Godzilla commanded the Blade to move.
The world it entered was known as "Anaconda."
A classic horror world.
Unfortunately, its creatures were unimpressive—hardly worth Godzilla's personal visit.
Still, with a proxy, he no longer needed to trouble himself.
He simply issued commands as needed, watching through the Blade's eyes like a living movie. It was almost… entertaining.
...
The Blade emerged into a dense jungle.
Towering trees surrounded it, stirring its curiosity.
Born only a few years ago, this Blade was still brimming with curiosity about the world.
It tore a tree from the ground with its secondary limbs, shoved it into its maw, and bit down. The taste was strange, unappealing.
The monsters of the Factory had never eaten plants before—this was its first bite of raw vegetation, dirt and all.
It spat the tree aside.
It had more important work.
It needed to find a group of snakes, follow them to certain flowers, and bring those flowers back to the Master.
The main brain had already shared visions of these snakes and flowers with it.
Snakes had no claws or limbs. How did they move?
The Blade was determined to study them closely once it found them.
