Chapter 9 - Chapter : 9 Arriving At kuoh academy

Sho sat on his bed, freshly bathed and dressed, clutching his precious gacha tickets like a gambler about to stake everything.

"Oh lord, whichever god is listening, please… give me something good. At least not disappointing," he muttered, pressing his palms together before grinning. "It's gacha time."

The familiar machine shimmered into existence before him, gears whirring as he yanked down the handle. The rolling sound echoed, and then—

Sho blinked for a second and then looked up at the ceiling.

"So you really were listening, huh, God? …Thank you."

" This is pretty good " Sho clearly not much disappointed this time, rather than getting trash this was gold.

The knowledge of Armament Haki slammed into his brain instantly, leaving him reeling. He raised his arm, and with a faint buzzing sound—maybe just his imagination—a thin layer of black coating shimmered over his forearm.

But then a thought struck him. Slowly, he slid his pants down.

"Oh…it works there too," he whispered, eyes wide.

A grin spread across his face.

"Now I can openly say I've got balls of steel."He muttered to himself, nodding in satisfaction.

" Now nobody can use a man's greatest weakness against me anymore. The pain of getting hit down there is brutal—imagine fighting an opponent, and then he lands a strike right on your crotch. In an instant, you're on the ground clutching yourself, all your energy and adrenaline drained. But me… not anymore."

Sho tugged his pants back up and turned his attention to the strange key in his hand.

It was pure black, faintly glowing with a purple light that seemed to pulse in the shadows.

[ Image of key]

"S-rank Shadow Dungeon…" he whispered, rolling it between his fingers. "Yeah, no way I'm clearing that with the strength I've got right now. Better toss this into the inventory for safekeeping."

He slipped the key away, though his eyes lingered on it. The word Shadow… that purple glow… it gnawed at his curiosity. He felt a little thrill of excitement, but he shook his head quickly. He was still weak. Curiosity wasn't enough to survive an S-rank dungeon.

"Patience," he muttered.

Afterall only patience can fulfil his curiosity.

Pushing the thought aside, Sho pulled up the shop screen. "Alright, let's see what goodies you've got for me." He rubbed his hands together, already picturing weapons and powerful artifacts.

Instead, his expression froze.

The shop window was completely empty.

"Huh? …Why is there nothing here?"

> Shop is Empty.

Host must scan items for them to appear in the shop. Items can then be bought using gold coins received from gacha rewards.

Sho's mouth twitched. "Wait, what? I thought it'd be filled with Epic and Legendary loot already. Don't tell me I have to supply it myself."

To test it out, he pulled a healing potion from his inventory and placed it into the shop. A screen popped up instantly:

[Scan Completed]

[Healing Potion]

Use: Heals all bodily injuries and normal internal injuries.

Price: 10 gold coins.

"Huh… so that's how it works."

He quickly scanned the rest—stamina potions, mana potions—each one listed at the same price. Then he glanced at his balance.

Current Gold: 300

Sho let out a breath of relief. "Thank god I didn't sell those coins for money." The thought had crossed his mind earlier, but now he realized it would've been a huge mistake.

As Sho scrolled through his inventory, his eyes landed on something that made him sit up straighter—

(X-SYRINGE)

A legendary item that could grant him any bloodline.

He narrowed his eyes, lips curling into a faint smile, and placed it into the shop for scanning.

[ Scan Completed ]

[X-SYRINGE]

Use: Grants possession of any bloodline, along with its powers and inherited special abilities.

Price: 2,000,000 gold coins.

Sho froze. His smile evaporated instantly.

"Two… and six zeros…" he muttered, staring blankly at the glowing numbers. Slowly, he turned his gaze toward his balance—300 gold coins.

His heart sank. "So this is what it feels like to be poor. Three hundred versus two million… the gap's enough to crush a man."

"System, are you sure this price is right?"

> I don't know. The Shop allots prices automatically based on the item's abilities.

Sho rubbed his face, groaning. "Then maybe you should consider increasing my salary a little. I mean… c'mon, this is daylight inflation."

The absurd price weighed on him like a mountain. It felt so high that even a thousand years of saving wouldn't cover it.

> Gold coins can be obtained from gacha rewards and also by completing missions.

Sho let out a long sigh and flopped back onto his bed, staring at the ceiling.

"I need to use the X-SYRINGE somehow," he murmured. "With the right bloodline, I could skyrocket my strength. But the only one even remotely within reach is a devil's bloodline…" He trailed off, frowning. "And I don't want to become one of those, not if I can help it. At the very least… a dragon's bloodline. Or maybe even an Asgardian's… but that's impossible right now."

Sho let out a sigh and pushed himself up from the bed.

"There's no point overthinking it—it'll just stress me out," he muttered, giving his arms a stretch. "Time to hit the gym, flex a little in front of the mirror… and finish the rest of Daily missions."

He headed out, and soon enough he reached the gym, the familiar clang of weights and smell of iron surrounded him. The moment Sho walked in, heads turned. The women especially—eyes lingering on his frame, their expressions somewhere between curious, hungry, and downright weird.

They'd seen his athletic build before, but watching him in motion was something else. Each rep made his muscles tense and contract, veins rising, strength on full display. It was enough to make a few hearts skip a beat.

Pull-ups with full extension, one-arm balances, calisthenic push-ups where his legs never touched the floor—Sho made them all look effortless.

Even the men couldn't help themselves. Jealousy, sure, but also admiration. A few even muttered under their breath, inspired enough to push themselves harder.

The women, on the other hand, looked at him like they'd never seen a man's body before. Their lip-bite, their stares—Other gym members caught them looking at sho, and couldn't help but think:

Perverts. Don't they have fathers and brothers at home?

> Daily Mission completed

 Rewarded : 2 gacha Tickets

Next Day

Sho was currently dressing in his new school attire, neatly buttoning up the shirt of Kouh Academy.

It was finally the first day, something he had been personally waiting for. After all, this meant he would get to see the main characters of this anime world with his own eyes, and also figure out just how much of the story had already progressed.

"Sho! Breakfast is ready, come down fast—you can't be late on your very first day of school!"

It was his mother, Ayaka, calling out from downstairs.

"Coming!" Sho replied as he grabbed the last piece of his little attire.

The Specs–D.

(A.N. : I changed the name Spectacles to

Specs–D, because the name was too plain so don't get confused and D stands for Disguise not Dick.)

He needed to wear them in front of his parents. So they can Recognize him with or without the glasses, so they don't get confused.

Heading down to the dining room, he found his family already seated around the table. His younger sister Mio was scrolling through her phone, his father Endo had the newspaper spread open in one hand and coffee in the other, while his mother was just finishing setting down a fresh plate.

Sho sat at his spot, quietly taking out the glasses.

"Mom," he said suddenly, slipping them onto his face, "what do you think of these? Do they look good on me?" Attracting everyone attention.

He asked casually, but in truth this was part of his plan—he wanted to see how they reacted.

Ayaka blinked, then leaned forward a little, studying him carefully. "Hmm… it looks fine, I guess. But why do you need to wear glasses all of a sudden? Is there something wrong with your eyes? Did you go to a doctor?" Her voice carried all the worry of a mother piling one question after another.

Sho waved his hand, forcing a laugh. "No, no, nothing like that. These are just normal glasses. A friend told me wearing them can help with focus while studying, so I thought I'd try it."

Hearing that, Ayaka's worries seemed to fade, though she still gave him one last suspicious look before letting it go.

But this time Mio, who had been silently watching, lowered her phone and spoke up.

"Mom… don't you think he looks a little different with glasses on?" Her eyes stayed on Sho as she frowned slightly. "He feels different. Like he's still Sho, but not completely."

Even Ayaka nodded slightly at Mio's words, agreeing that Sho somehow looked a little different with the glasses on. But before she could add anything more, Endo folded his newspaper and set it down on the table.

"Whatever it is, just make sure you study hard this time," his father said firmly. "I don't want to see another bad result."

Sho scratched his cheek awkwardly, giving a half-hearted laugh, while Mio smirked as if enjoying the scolding aimed at her brother.

Ayaka clapped her hands lightly to break the moment. "Alright, let's eat before the food gets cold."

Together, the family pressed their hands together and said in unison—

"Itadakimasu."

......

Sho stood before the tall gates of Kouh Academy, watching as a steady stream of students walked past him. Most of them were boys—faces lit with excitement, voices buzzing with chatter. It wasn't surprising.

After all, Kouh had always been known as a prestigious girls' school, and only recently had it gone co-ed. The reputation it carried as one of the best academies in the region made its admissions skyrocket. For many boys, stepping into this place felt like a dream.

But off-course Many Boys simply joined to get a chance to use their Rocket.

Sho adjusted the strap of his bag and stepped through the gate. A small gust of wind blew past, ruffling his hair like a main character making entry, and he caught bits of gossip floating around him—students laughing, whispering, and speculating about what life here would be like.

Suddenly, the crackle of a microphone cut through the noise.

"Mic testing… here, Kaichou."

A calm, clear voice followed.

"A warm Good morning, and welcome to every new student who has joined our academy. I am the Student Council President, Sona Shitori."

Sho's attention immediately sharpened.

"I need to inform all new students," she continued, her tone firm yet polite, "that if you do not know which class you have been assigned to, please proceed to the notice board located near the main hall. There, you will find your names and corresponding class information. Additionally, two members of the Student Council will be present to assist you. Please remember to maintain silence, form proper lines, and show discipline."

Her words carried a dignified weight, instantly calming the restless chatter of the crowd.

But suddenly, that calm shattered.

"Oi, move out of the way, man! Don't block all the good scenes for yourself!"

"Hohooo… look at those boobs, look at those hips swaying —goddamn, paradise is real!"

"We're finally gonna hook up with some hot chicks and have nonstop sex! This is heaven!"

"WHOOOAA! I can already taste the juices in my mouth!"

Gasps and groans spread like wildfire through the gathered students. The girls recoiled instantly, their murmurs sharp with disgust.

"Ugh, who let perverts like them into this school?"

"Gross."

"Ewww, seriously?"

Sho turned his head and, sure enough, saw the infamous trio swaggering into view. Issei Hyoudou in the center, flanked by his two loyal partners-in-crime: Matsuda, the loud bald one, and Motohama, with his ever-present glasses.

Sho couldn't help the faint smile that tugged at his lips. "As expected… they had to make their grand entrance like this."

No matter how idiotic their words sounded, watching them was strangely nostalgic. In the anime, they had always spoken this way—loud, shameless, and downright filthy. Hearing it again in person made Sho smirk; it was as if the scene had been ripped straight out of the show he once watched in his previous world.

" Well time to find my class... "

As sho walked away in search of his glass.
