Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

"Thank you, but I can't do it," Nirian exclaimed in a deep voice tinged with nostalgia.

Another plane arrived, and the same sorceress from before opened it. At that moment, the gem in Nirian's hands was cracking.

-She says she wants four times the cost of her resources and the cursed mandrake that's in the herbalist's shop near the Academy.

"Who are you?" Nirian asked in her mind, but she didn't take long to respond:

-I agree.

Mart, who had already taken out the ten wands, made them float as they had their own demonic energy gems that used only a small percentage of Mart's energy.

Mart closed his eyes, and in front of the ten wands, demonic diagrams appeared that absorbed all the power of the gems and then turned into blades of concentrated demonic energy with spiral-shaped tips. Then another diagram appeared that made the blades spin at high speed, a third diagram covered the blades with a barrier, and when he made a fourth demonic diagram appear, he opened his eyes and his irises glowed with an intense purple color. By that time, the abominable being had stopped hitting the barrier.

"Yes, it would be very easy if you didn't realize it, but it's too late," Mart shouted at the top of his lungs:

-Taste the power of the future and demonic energy!

The abominable being had barely turned to run towards Mart, but...

Bang! Bang! Bang!...

A deafening and earth-shaking sound echoed eight times, and the abominable creature fell to its knees.

-Even the greatest beasts fell before the power of bullets, solid surfaces yielded to the power of drills, ha ha ha, it would be absurd for you to be the exception! -Mart shouted, and notifications appeared.

[Arrogance trait activated: all your stats will temporarily increase by +10 (as long as you keep showing off)]

[Showing off shamelessly: special reward]

[Boasting about your own power: reward]

[Feeling powerful: reward]

"Wow, this is a little embarrassing, but it's better than nothing," thought Mart with a slight blush on his cheeks.

-Run, bastards, don't waste the opportunity Mart Sevec has given you, ha ha ha!

Bang! Bang!

An even louder sound than before pierced the thighs of the abominable being that had been regenerating from the previous attacks.

Nirian ordered his group to run, thinking, "That's the power of Mart Sevec, so why did he only get so few points in the demonic potential test? With that level, he shouldn't be in class C."

Mart, meanwhile, had already infused his remaining demonic energy into his body to run at high speed before the abominable being recovered.

"Although I wounded it and used corrosive magic, I am only in the first rank. My concatenated demonic spell is strong, but not strong enough to kill it. My mid-level demonic gem wands are depleted. I'll be dead if that thing chases me," Mart thought as he kept running.

••••

At the foot of the mountain, after running nonstop, Asfil and Selis arrived at Professor Helen's camp, who came out to greet them when she saw how agitated they were, almost on the verge of fainting.

-Professor, there are several fifth-rank monsters." Mart told us to run. -said Asfil, falling to her knees as she tried to catch her breath.

-Asdef, Ilin, follow me! Professor Aneth, take care of them, and send a message saying that we are canceling the test due to a level 5 emergency. -ordered Professor Helen, who then entered the mountain without delay, followed by her two assistants.

Asdef was a young demon with dark purple hair, dark circles under his eyes, grayish skin, and pointed ears. His expression seemed to show disinterest, and he even yawned as he followed the professor.

Ilin was a slender, pretty girl with white skin, very light blond hair, and two beautiful white horns that looked more like a crown.

Both were wearing white clothes at the request of Professor Helen, who did not want two people close to her to wear dark clothes like her.

"It will be a problem if something happens to the prodigies," Helen thought as she extended her demonic perception.

••••

Mart ran until he reached a rocky area, hid among the rocks, and began to breathe and absorb demonic energy little by little. "It would be great if I could kill that thing. I'm sure I would receive a great reward," he thought, and after a few minutes, he asked the system to show him the rewards he currently possessed.

[Special rewards: 2]

[Special reward: 2 (+0.6 chosen attribute)]

[Rewards: 4]

[Reward: 4 (+0.3 random attribute)]

"Put the chosen attribute in intelligence, and let luck decide where the random ones will be."

Mart closed his eyes, with the dark sky above him, he knew he had chosen intelligence because it was what he needed to cast his spells more quickly. Demonic energy was something that could be compensated for by using demonic artifacts, just as he did with demonic wands.

A beautiful smile, reddish hair swaying in front of him, it was Selenia who asked him with her beautiful face overflowing with joy:

-You say you love me? Mmm, I think I like you a lot, but we should get to know each other better.

The image changes, Selenia is explaining magical concepts to him, and some related to absorption capacity and demonic potential. After a few seconds, he takes some notes, and she smiles, then rests her head on his shoulder.

Then he is meeting with the green-haired young man he saw before, who said to him:

-Yes, make her suffer, that bitch rejected me. Who does she think she is to reject the son of a duke? In the end, we nobles are nobles, right?.

-It was that same bastard I saw running earlier; Eriant Lizerit. I hope that monster got you. -Mart muttered, then smiled.

In the distance, the abominable creature let out a guttural scream.

"I hope she's not involved in this. She wasn't a bad woman; she just had bad luck."

Mart took out a dark purple demonic potion, drank it, and decided to head for the cave he had seen earlier.
