Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Then Tarun and Kiran walked for a while in the direction where Raju and Ravi had gone, following Srini and Manu.

After a while, they saw Ravi and Raj scratching their bodies and shaking their clothes in the middle of the road.

"Ah ..what are you both doing here? Where are they?" Tarun asked with loud voice.

"Boss, we were following them, and they were attacked by evolved animals. After that, we were bitten by ants, so we ran away," Ravi said.

"Ravi, why didn't you say they killed an evolved animal?" Raj asked slowly with low voice.

"If I said that, he would scold us again, saying we should have taken everything after they killed it. How can you confirm they killed it? The sheep might be unconscious. If we had gone near, we would have been in danger too. Do you really think they killed an evolved animal?" Ravi said.

"Yes, I also felt suspicious. How can they kill an evolved animal without any proper weapon? to kill an evolved animal we took fifteen peoples in which most of them were badly injured and also we lost two peoples." Raj said.

"What are you talking about so slowly?" Tarun snapped.

"Now take me to where they were last seen," Tarun ordered.

Then Ravi and Raj led the way to the place where Manu and Srini were last seen.

When they reached the spot, they could not find Srini and Manu but only blood spots on the ground. Because of the danger of evolved animals, they didn't approach.

"You fools , where did they go?" Tarun asked.

"Boss, we don't know. When we left, one of them was beaten and the other was still fighting," Ravi said.

"Where did they go? What if they actually killed the evolved animal and took it to the settlement? No, they cannot have killed it with just a few strikes. They may be hiding somewhere here," Ravi thought aloud.

Raj looked at Ravi in confusion, not knowing what to say.

"These fools can't do a single job correctly. I was planning to make them work for me to bring supplies from the building, but now I cannot get something from them if they're dead too," Tarun thought.

"What are you doing, standing and looking at each other? Go search. We may find something search every surrounding area for their bags. If not, you know what my big brother is going to do," Tarun ordered.

"Yes, boss. We will look," Ravi and Raj said.

They started to search everywhere, fearful of encountering evolved animals, while Tarun stayed back with Kiran near him.

"He's scared of evolved animals, so he's sending us to search for a bag," Ravi muttered.

"What can we do? We can't oppose him, if we try to do anything he will target us with his brother influence" Raj replied.

They went near the building to search, shivering with fear. While looking, they heard voices.

Ravi and Raj peeked and saw Manu and Srini near the dead body of the horned sheep, pierced by many small metal rods.

"They killed it? How is that possible? I was worried I might not be able to take my revenge, but God is on my side. I will beat the person who took my things until he begs," Ravi thought while looking towards Srini.

They ran back to where Tarun was and told him what they'd seen.

"Hahahahaha…" Tarun laughed.

"I'm so lucky today. This is the luckiest day of my life. I'll get back everything they took from me. I can make them work for me like slaves. Not only that an evolved-animal heart and body. I'm rich, I'm rich," Tarun thought.

"Now everyone listen. Surround them from all directions. Don't let them escape like last time. Don't act without my permission. If anyone tries to be smart think about your life in settlement first," Tarun ordered.
