Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

"What do I do? How do I escape from here?" Manu was thinking.

Then Ravi ran toward Srini at full speed.

Manu, submerged in thought, looked up and saw Srini already lying on the ground.

"Srini!..." Manu shouted and stepped toward him.

"Stop. Don't come near....," Tarun said as he walked up to Srini, drew his sword, and pressed the blade's edge against Srini's neck.

Ravi was filled with anger; every time Srini spoke, it made him furious.

When Ravi got a chance, he rushed forward and, with a clean swing, struck Srini on the head.

Srini, already hit once by the horned sheep, was struck again by the metal pipe on the left side of his head. The impact wasn't strong enough to kill him, but it made Srini lose consciousness once more.

"Be a good boy and hand over the heart if you want your friend to be alive," Tarun said.

"No—if I hand it over he will kill us. I am still alive because of this heart . Now I cannot run too," Manu thought.

"Ravi, I think you hit him too hard. He won't die, right?" Tarun asked with a smile.

"I was thinking the same... because if he dies, I cannot enjoy his scream for forgiveness," Ravi replied.

"I will never let them take the heart we fought so long and hard for. I'm going to fight them to the death," Manu told himself.

"Don't worry, boss. He's not dead," Ravi said.by moving his hand towards the Srini nose

"Sorry, Srini. I couldn't save you from here," Manu thought.

"Now decide what you're going to do. You will die by my hand or—" Tarun was cut off.

"If I die today, I'll take you all with me," Manu shouted.

"Sorry, Srini — I couldn't do anything in a situation like this, but I will kill them all so you can escape," Manu thought.

"You hit Srini for this heart—right now take this!" Manu said, raising the heart in the air.

The settlement accepts a heart only if it is undamaged, so it must be handled very delicately. If the heart is damaged, it turns completely black and emits a terrible smell.

"No—don't do it. Don't drop it on the ground or I'll trust my sword into Srini's neck," Tarun warned.

Ravi and Raj stepped forward, ready to catch Manu if he dropped the heart.

But Manu didn't drop it. Instead, he put the heart in his mouth and took a big bite.

Everyone was in shock , no one had ever seen someone eating an evolved-animal heart.

"He's crazy, he ate an evolved-animal heart," Tarun thought.

Without chewing the bite, Manu swallowed it and shoved the rest into his mouth, forcing it down."What do you think? I'll let it be damaged? No way. I'm going to die anyway, and I'll drag you all with me," Manu said.

Then Manu raised his knife and took a fighting stance.

Tarun flew into a rage.

"You rascal—you destroyed my plan , you destroyed my dream to get a serum ," he yelled.

"Everyone attack him and beat him until he dies!" Tarun shouted, raising his sword toward Manu.

Manu began to feel blurriness in his vision.

Raj ran at Manu and kicked him toward Ravi.

Ravi, seeing Manu kicked by Raj, swung his metal pipe and struck Manu's right cheek.

The blow sent a wave of pain through Manu's body.

But he felt countless small things crawling under his skin all over his body, and suddenly his vision began to go black.

"I can't take them with me. I can't even hold them for a second. Sorry, I can't do anything, Srini," Manu thought, and tiers came from his eyes.

Finally, he lost consciousness.
