Chapter 11 - [11] The Archive

"New students get to select one Tier-One Primal Energy Technique, one Body Movement technique and a single combat technique for free within the library. Moreover, we also get to pick a Type 1 weapon from the armory!"

Theon's heart skipped a beat. With a Tier-I Cell breathing technique, he would be able to absorb energy even faster but that wasn't the most important.

The more important one as the combat technique and the movement technique.

Combat techniques are techniques that multiplies the power of one's attack by 100 percent! If one's comprehension was good and they were able to perfect the technique, one could receive about 500% damage increase!

That's about five times that of a normal persons attack with the same technique.

It is said that at the highest level of a combat technique - the Ultima state, one could reach a maximum of 1000% of strength and it will cost much effort either.

Theon's heart rate rose noticeably as he was enlightened. There are two important factors of a Genetic warrior's potential: first, one must be blessed with a resilient body and discipline to hone their body, and second, one must have comprehension to allow one to grasp the heart of techniques and immerse oneself into the path of combat techniques.

To be blessed with a resilient body allows one to train their cell much faster than the others, and to have comprehension of combat technique is to be able to easily pick up the physical combat arts and defeat those who seemingly stood above you. After all, being weak or strong depends on individual performance.

The Archive was a strangely built large structure. It's width was only twenty to thirty meters wide but its height was over a few hundreds of meters in length.

Its peak couldn't even be seen as it seemed to pierce into the clouds.

An ineffable feeling overcame Theon as he stared at the Archive. It seemed to be very ill's but at the same time incredibly sturdy as it stood there.

Before the tower was two massive statues at each side of the entrance.

The statue was that of a life-like mysterious strange beast, purely made of Ivy.

Its red eyes were dull, but they strangely gave off an illusion of a deep red wave of energy that beamed terror through the mind of anyone who first saw it.

"First time here?" Theon still in his stupor unconsciously nodded head with a still astonished mind but was soon startled.

A few feet away from him was a young lady that appeared to be 16 years of age.

She was also staring at the giant statue before the Archive but instead of the shock and awe Theon had reacted, there was calmness on her face. It was obvious this wasn't her first time here.

Looking at her face, she looked a bit familiar and as Theon thought a bit about it, he was able to recognize where he had seen her from.

She was Diana, one of the seven who had passed earlier during the day.

Theon took back his gaze, placing the thought to the back of his head and nodded in response. "Yeah, my first time here."

"This is also my first time here. The statue is made out of the flesh and bones of the rank 3 Demon General, the Triple-crown Slattern ." Diana explained, her soft voice ineffably faint but radiate admit the murmuring crowds of students entering and exciting the Archive.

"Oh." Upon hearing the word Demon General, Theon was slightly stunned. Those are beast that stood at the top of the food chain. Even their breath contain large amount of plasma and extremely thick radiation that could instantly kill Genetic Soldier in a single whiff.

Despite the incredibly strength of such monsters, it was currently being used as decoration just outside the academy's Archive which is simply ridiculous!

"Mastery level Blade technique. Even though it's just an ordinary combat art and not a ranked combat art, it's still very impressive." Diana's green eyes shifted and landed on Theon's body. A smile on her face as she said this.

Theon smiled bitterly and responded, shaking his head. "I was in the army for 4 years, for me to reach the Mastery realm is simply due to luck."

Diana's smile widened upon hearing Theon words. "You're really humble. Not many can comprehend the mastery realm in just four years and at such a young age too."

Theon rolled his eyes internally."Sorry, but I have to go now."

Giving out a small smile towards Diana, Theon began heading towards the Archive.

As soon as Theon was out of sight, the smile on Diana's face dropped like a stone. It was like a switch had automatically being switched off a s an indifferent expression appeared in her face.

Her brows tilted a bit as though she was listening to someone speaking. "Not true, Even if he's been discarded, he's still a Dragan."

Her beautiful brows furrowed, extenuating her brightly lit pupils. "I know he's not a threat, but we can start with him. I won't be satisfied unless he's dead."

Suddenly, her expression changed drastically as she whispered. "An S-rank talent? That's impossible! Even l only awakened an A-rank! It's been ripped out? How the hell is he still alive?"

"It doesn't matter now, I can only act when he least expects it."

The interior of the Archive was like a medieval castle.

At the two edges of the hall, two spiraling staircases spun endlessly upwards with its topmost part unable to be seen due to the height. A few students with their badges on their cloths walked in and out of the Archive without a single book in their hands.

Some had satisfactory looks on their faces as though content with what they had gained from within the Archive. There were two separate sections within the Archive. One for Primal Meditation Techniques and the section section meant for Combat Tactics.

The different floors within the Archive indicate the hierarchy of technique within the Archive.

Ignoring the soft whisper from the surrounding students, Theon shouldered through the crowd and headed for the second floor of the Archive. His first goal was a Primal Meditation Technique then Combat Tactics later.

The floors within the Archive required authorization to get through. Getting to the second floor required him to show his badge which only contained entry level command; level-1 authority after being admitted as a new student.
