[Ding!]
[Prime Student Theon, you have twenty minutes left. Please select the manual of your choice and leave otherwise face punishment.]
Theon was jolted out of his thought process and was suddenly remained of where he was. He tends to get lost in his thinking and ever since he reincarnated, this phenomenon seem to have drastically increased.
He could think about a situation for an hour and not until he was specifically called or interrupted would he be jolted back awake.
Theon was just starting to notice this strange behavior of his. He couldn't help but ponder if the case was because of his reincarnation or was it because it something else?
Come to think of it, he was still thinking instead of focusing on selecting a combat tactic.
[I shall acquire a combat technique and a movement technique]
[Ding! Quest Created]
[Objectives: Acquire a Combat technique]
[Reward: +1 combat technique]
Theon was immediately excited and went forward to the shelf and started to pick up the books one after the other.
Numerous Tier-1 combat techniques filled his line of sight.
His eyes widened and he felt dizzy seeing the endless list of techniques before him.
"Infinite Shock wave Fists, Thunder Quake Palm, Seven Bullets Gun-skill, Molotov Gun-skill, Berserk Explosion Fist, The Saber Art of stars, The Freedom sword Art, Revolving Blade Leg art... Cloud Soaring Move, Kingdom palm, Seven ..."
For sword and saber techniques alone, there were around forty different techniques, and for the palm, gun, and fist arts there were more than fifty manuals each, twenty-eight different kinds of different leg arts, and only eight manuals in regards to claws.
The Infinite Shock wave palm had a very high requirement, every stage described in the manual was complex and difficult. Each palm was the crashing of waves and after each tide, the next attack would double and stack, accumulating into the body, ready to release at any time.
The Thunder Quake Fist was slightly more in-depth and required a certain level of comprehension; Seven Bullets Gunkill was summarized as an almost murderous technique, each stage was aggressive and bold, very suitable for those with a cold and calm personality.
Here's the revised text with the Three-Step Saber technique:
The Three-Step Saber kill was even more outstanding and demanding. Its summary stated that the first level of this technique is the same as the Ultima state of other Tier-1 techniques! Imagine each of your every casual attack of this technique being the peak power of other Tier-1 techniques, it was insane.
It is said that at the highest level, the Ultima State from this technique can rival that of a normal Tier-3 combat technique! Showing how destructive this technique was.
But the question which made Theon confused was why is such a good technique placed alongside other basic tier-1.
Soon, he found the answer. Turns out that using Three-Step Saber kill while it allows the user to access exponentially multiplying attack power with each step, it sacrifices the body as an exchange.
The internal organs, tissue, muscles, blood vessels, and bones would gradually deteriorate with each step, with the third step potentially rendering its user crippled or in the worst-case scenario, dead.
The cells would also become severely strained and weakened for a long period of time and might not even be able to recover, which is why only those with extraordinary comprehension and perfect technique execution ever attempt to master this art. It's a technique that demands absolute precision.
Furthermore, the technique contains three sequential moves that must be executed flawlessly. Instant Kill which is the first move. A lightning-fast strike that can end most opponents immediately.
Silver Lining which is the second move. The strength doubles from the first move, creating a devastating follow-up attack.
Rainbow Painting: the third move. The strength multiplies again, creating a technicolor display of lethal energy that few have ever witnessed and lived to tell about.
And then the legendary Ultima state… Perfect Trinity.
Perfect Trinity state, all three moves would be executed in perfect harmony within moments, with each step's power multiplying exponentially, generating unbelievable amounts of concentrated lethality!
At this state, it was said that depending on one's comprehension level and technique mastery, one could eliminate multiple opponents before the accumulated toll destroys the user's body.
In the entire history of the academy, only one person had managed to execute the first two moves successfully whose name was unknown. Though she didn't die, her body was permanently damaged and her cultivation severely hindered.
The second person was the creator of the technique. He had managed to execute all three moves once but ultimately died from the accumulated physical toll while attempting to reach the Perfect Trinity state.
Even practicing it was deadly as a single mistake in timing or execution could lead to the muscles, tendons, or meridians tearing, causing internal damage and permanent disability.
The only downside to this was that he would need to achieve perfect comprehension before even attempting it. Even practicing this technique would definitely bring him risk of permanent injury, not to mention the intense mental focus he would need to comprehend the technique's intricacies and perfect timing for the system to be able to level it up.
Gritting his teeth, he ultimately decided to choose the technique. With his high comprehension and his system, complex techniques were his specialty. Why struggle with simple combat techniques when he can master the most demanding ones and achieve unparalleled strength instead?
With the system, there was no point in wasting time to learn common combat techniques. For Theon to choose, only the most challenging and rewarding would suffice.
After selecting Three-Step Saber Kill technique, Theon also decided to choose another Tier-1 technique from the shelf.
The Thunder step Leg art. This art wasn't a combat art but a movement art. An explosive technique that can only be used to boost and improve one's speed and agility to the maximum state, making ones legs look as though it was a revolving blade.
