Darkness cloud my vision for a while as my surroundings blurred. As my vision comes to a wave of dizziness hits me and I bend over releasing whatever I has left from lunch. Firften minutes pass with me dry retching and letting my body relax. My body has still not gotten used to the whole idea of portalling and teleportation.
An ominous feeling crawls over my skins. Danger alarms ring in my brain. There is no denying it I'm currently in dangerous territories. Which darkness surrounds me with no ray of light in sight. No sunlight, no moonlight, just strk darkness. I could feel the ground beneath my boots and it felt rough.
Dragon Night Vision kicks in instantly, as my eys become golden slits and I gasp at the sight before me. Hoarse and uneven rocks fill the terrain before me, and the tangy scent of blood is so thick in the air i could taste the metallic feel on my tongue. I shudder in disgust and sit back.
Movement behind me snaps me out of my reverie and I move just in time to dodge the claws of whatever is attacking me. The beast lands before me in its full glory with a snarl on its lips.
Black fur coated it's large frame of close to 7 feets in height and maybe the same in size, muscular limbs formed it's bottom parts, with claws the size of a full grown man's arm, and sbgs that look like they cab cut through metal. Saliva drips from the side of its mouth and it's green ews shone it excitement. This isn't just an animal. It's a predator and to it it found a different prey.
With speedy reflexes it leaps aiming for me. I steel myself and just as he gets close enought I dodge to the right and land a punch at its side. It flies a few feet from me and lands on all four. Based on its strength and speed it should at least be a (D+) Rank beast.
"School Portal" I let the thought free and the screen shows up. "Monster Read" I let another thought free hoping it would work and instantly another screen shows up!

Okay it's just a C+ NERLUCAN. I can handle it easily without wasting my maagi. It leaps again and I faint to the other side and land a massive punch to its neck that sends it slamming to a rock a few walls away. Landing on the floor blood gushes from its neck as it convulses for a while. A loud whimper escapes its mouth as it body stills in death.
I extract it's Maagi core and sigh as my eys widen. A C+ Rank Beast is equivalent to a Hexagon -tier Monster in my world? The maagi core was blazing a bright forest green that blind the eyes. During one of my readings I read about Maagi cores. Turns out the shade of a Beast Core can tell you it's rank.
F(blue), E(yellow) D(red), C(Green), B(Orange), A(Blood-Red), S(Grey) SS(Silver), SSS(White), X(Gold). The brighter the shade of the core the higher the rank of the monster.
I pull up my School Portal and head to the Daily Tasks Tab. It lights up and all my tasks have disappeared and in its place was a single task.

Is this Academy insane? 100? How will I find them? How would I know the Alpha? How would I know the Luna? Where is the pup? How do I tame a beast? Questions ravage round my mind but I don't have the time to begin to decipher them.
My sixth sense kicks in and I could sense multiple presence around me. Their maagi is well hidden and even my regular senses couldnt pick them up but as they moved closer I begin to recognize their energy and it was enormous. About 40 different NERUCLAN wolves surround me with no means of escape. The same blazing green eyes, and black fur but some looked larger than the rest.
In summary I'm in deep shit!
In one instant 4 aim for my head. I jump off the floor and create 5 Wind-Blades [1]in mid-air and aim for their necks. The blades detach their heads from their bodies and they fall in a thud. I land on their bodies and take my full dragon form at once. Translucent Wings pop out of my back and my eyes turn to slit as they take a golden colour. Expansion of muscle mass, thickening of muscles, Claws and gangs with a translucent horn follow suit.
Surprise halts the movement of the NERLUCAN pack but they quickly get over it and attack. I duck, dodge claw Slashes and cut through their skin like butter. My claws can cut through anything. A NERUCLAN aims for my throat with its fangs. I catch the fangs and remove it with a single pull. The beast falls bleeding profusely. I toss the fangs at one running towards me and it pierces the neck killing it in one go. Two NERUCLAN claws tear through my skin but Dragon regeneration kicks in and the cuts close up in minutes.
I jump up and the force of my descent send the beasts flying feet away from me. I close my eyes and fill my claws with pure Maagi. Once I could feel the sheer force of the maagi in my hands I release a massive slash that sends out claws of pure maagu that cuts through at least 10 NERUCLAN beasts. I jump and cut through the 5 left in one swift movement.
Taking sharp breath I could feel fatigue set in. My energy levels were dropping fast in Dragon form and even the maagi it takes to hold up this form is a lot. I change back to my normal form as the claws, horns, fangs, and body shape retract leaving me with only blazing golden eye that were back to their normal shapes.
Another set of 5 NERUCLANs arrive and I take a deep breath. When is this going to end? How many are these things? I still need to find their Alpha and Luna. These new sets looked different than hwe others. They are larger, more muscular and their eyes were a blazing orange. B+ Rank NERUCLANs ? How???
The Beasts before me are out for blood, for recompense for their fallen brothers. In most books they are called the KILL SQUAD, every creature that live in pack have them. The beast of their fighters who are sent with only one mission. Kill the Bastard!
The first one runs at me and I raise a large wave of water. I direct it to it and a huge boulder rises from the earth blocking the onslaught and I wave my hand making the water disappear. Earth elemental NERUCLAN. Wow just my luck. It stomps the ground and large rocks fly out of the earth aiming for me as it gets closer. I shatter them with Telekinesis and call on my double swords. The Beast gets to me and aims for my head. This one is visibly faster and stronger than the former one because with one leap it almost impales me. I escape its fangs by a hair's breath as my sixth sense kicks in and I dodge to the right. I slash it with my sword and it scrapes it side but doesn't do any major damage.
Immediately the rest butt in to help their mate. I quicky create a large shield made of water to keep the rest out. I circle around the one in the shield and we attack simultaneously. I feint to the left and it for it. I instantly take the right and slash it again. This time the slash is deeper and the beast whimpers. I smile as I run at it again and with one flip in the air I land on its back and pierce its neck taking it out totally.
I let my shield down and pick the one closest to my right. I jump for it and it raises the earth to proetecr itself but I already saw it coming. I land on the boulder and jump higher landing behind the beast sending it slamming into its boulder. I let my elemental Maagi flow into the ground below us. Dark magic in he earth fight my divine Maagi but I win and I turn the ground around us to quicksand.
The beast sinks and struggkes helplessly while I watched it floating in the hair with air magic. Once it's legs we're in the ground I slice it's head off it's body and let go of the maagi I was using to manipulate the earth and it turns back to normal.
I run at my fastest and in a blink of an eye I am behind the other one. I block a Boulder headed for my chest with Wall of Flames[2]with a smile. I let the flame fall on the beast and just as it is trying to get away from the flames I pierced it in the neck. I decapitate the other two and I had ended the Kill Squad.
I extract all the maagi cores from all the corpse on the floor. In the end I extracted 59 maagi cores of different shades. 54 are green shades (C Rank) and 5 are orange shades (B rank). If I make these much in just one fight. How much will I make in a few hours? My greedy side settles and my smile widens. Guess this trial is not all that bad.

I still have 3 hours to finish my task for today. No more NERUCLAN attack and I am starting to believe this task is impossible when my eyes land on paw tracks. Wherever they are coming from will be home to the Alpha and Luna? Seems we are busting some Beast Lair today. Just my luck.
I pack all my maagi cores, clear the corpse to one side and start following the paw tracks.
