I don't know what the task meant by Blood of Gaia but I have a strong feeling it is connected to the human voice I heard. Speeding through the landscape before me I avoid rocks and mountains as I follow the echo of her screams. We run for another 15 mins before finally reaching her and what I see before me places me in a momentary shock.
Fenrir and I skit to a halt at the sight before me. We were on top of a mountain so we could see the girl on the ground below a little far from where we stood. She was Elven, with pointed nose and the most vibrant Forest green eyes, and muddy brown silky hair. She is beautiful beyond words and my heart skips a beat at seeing her but she was in a dire state.
Surrounding her were thousands of beasts. All Avian Beasts[1]and the lowest rank was an E+ Ranks. Thousands of them were circling her and behind them stood the most magnificent of them all. I could the sheer force of it's power and those golden eyes affirms it. It looked like a golden eagle on steroids or maybe one who was born by a giant. It stood around 40 feet with wings spanning longer than that when stretched. It had large claws and long sharp beak that could pierce diamond easily. The most distinct thing about it is the feathers. They looked like red burning embers and I realize instantly. This is the Boss Avian Beast!
"Beast Read" I thought and instantly a screen pops up

I stagger at the screen before me. What in the world is this monster? It is next to my dragon in power and it looks like it can get stronger. I know Phoenix exist but se ing the sheer power it possesses scared me. The task was for me to kill it? This task will be my death because there is no way I can kill this monster. I'm just an A+Rank, the beast is like 5 classes above me, not to talk of the thousands of avian beasts down there. My maagi will be depleted before I even get the chance to save the girl.
"Unbelievable! A Phoenix! We can't go there!" Fenrir yelps a wave of fear pouring through me from our bond. Fenrir is scared of this beast. Fenrir is an SSS+ monster and that means it's just a class above him, if he is this frightened I should beware.
"Put on your big man pants, you wussy" i snap at him and he shoots me a deadly glare.
"Big man pants! Thats a monster that does not die! The phoenix would have had at least 50,000 years to train his maagi to the highest heights. You can't begin to phantom how powerful it would be!" He yells at me and a ashivee runs down my spine. Rank is a different thing but Cultivation of magic that long would mean it would at least be at Immortal level power and that's dangerous for anyone, even gods.
"But our task specifically asks us to kill it!" I reply him and he starts pacing his paws crack the ground beneath them unconsciously.
"We can fail this task! It's either that or our imminent death!" He replies and I roll my eyes. When did you become so into probabilities?
"I'm going to finish this task even if I have to die trying!" I reply with a resolve in my heart to finish this task. If not for myself because of that helpless girl about to be mawled. Fenrir stares at me and sighs in defeat.
"If we are going to do this we need a plan!" He replies and I smile. I get to work studying out landscape and an idea pops into my head.
"I have an idea. It's risky but it's worthwhile" Fenrir groans in frustration. All of my ideas are always risky, and lost time he is always at the receiving end of the risk.
"What crazy thing do you plan to do now?" He asks and I smile. I tell him the plan quickly and he nods.
"It will work but it all depends on if you have a Maagi core strong enough to withstand Divine Maagi spell not to talk of powering it." He mutters and I smile widely "You do? How?" His eyes widens in disbelief. It's nearly impossible but I did I it!
"Nights of self training and practicing some advanced level alchemy, small explotioks here and there!" I reply and he smiles.
"Then let's clear this task and if we fuck it up." He says and I smile
"We always fuck shit up, but today we might die!" I reply and he laughs. "Wish me luck" I close my eyes and focus on my teleportation skill. Unlike other elements, mind Element require complete focus and concentration, and at such distance I need to be totally insane. After about a few minutes of moving Maagi round my body to effect the spell, the effects begin.
When using teleportation, it feels like my body is being pulled apart in tiny pieces and been transported to another place. The pain only lasts for awhile the first few times, and later on it just becomes usual. I don't use teleportation a lot because it requires focus that most times I don't have.
My body disintegrates at once and materializes right beside the girl. I quickly wave my hand creating a massive shield of pure Divine Maagi. I pull out a Maagi core glowing the same translucent colour of my Divine Maagi, place it on the ground and pull on the tether connecting my maagi to the shield. Linking the tether to the maagi core in the center, the core lifts into the sky and spin furiously for a while before it stops and the weight lifts off of me.
All this while, the girl stares at me like she has seen a ghost. Her eyes widens when she sees the colour of the core, the schield and how I manipulated my maagi. Most people won't even understand this but she knows it's an advanced pure Maagi technique that only masters learn. Isis always told me that Maagi evolves and so should our usage.
"Hello Princess!" I greet her breaking her free of her reverie and she frowns.
"Don't call me that!" She snaps at me. For someone who I just saved, she sure was ungrateful
"You know a thank you will not kill you" I retort and she rolls her eyes.
"What are you? My prince charming who saved this damsel in distress? Get over yourself" she rudely responds and I glare her. Arrogant much.
"The distress part you get, but you don't fit the damsel circle, they are always beautiful." I reply and her mouth drops, she goes red in fury and I maintain a ckean smirk.
"If I had a tether I swear I'll wipe that shitty smirk off your face, you this asshole." She yells and my smirk widens.
"She has got spirit? Wipe it with what? A tea party spoon?" I mock and she stomps towards me and stop when she was at a too close distance. She glares up into my eyes.
"You misogynistic, sexist bastard! You don't know who you are messing with!" She yells into my face and if she was as tall as me she would have pierced me with her nails.
"We don't have time for this! The shield won't hold for too long. Can you fight, princess?" I ask and she nods.
"I can, but I need a tether to control my elements" she adds and I nod. Elves were created with magic unlike human who were later blessed by angels and gods. However, for Elves to use their elemental ability, they need a powerful relic to tether their maagi to, and that will help them easily manipulate the element around them.
"What if I got you one?" I reply and she chuckles.
"Tether creation requires a level of expertise in sure you don't possess." She mocks and I roll my eyes. I leanrt to create tethers during my training but we don't have time to create one. I have to give her one artifact to link her powers to and perform the linking spell.
"Who says I am going to create one for you?" I reply smiling and pull out Dchentis from my space ring and she gasps.
"Is that what I think it is? The ring of elements?" She asks and I nod. I only did a little reading and it said that Avatar Pavi was given Dchentis by Ancient High Elves which increases the elemental power of the user triple fold.
"Yes! My master passed it down to me, and I give it to you now, treat it with care." I say to her and she stares at it with admiration and love.
"Thank you for this!" She says giddy and I nod.
"Now I will do the Tether Link spell, but I need to know what you are doing here?" I ask and her face falls
"The billion dollar question. I don't know! I was dreaming and the next thing I open my eyes here" She replies
"That's impossible, humans are not meant to be able to enter the beast realm! Unless" Fenrir mindlinks me and I turn to the side
"Unless what Fenrir?" I ask hastily and he groans.
"All beasts know that we all owe our lives and existence to the goddess Gaia, she created his realm for us, gave us our maagi, and only her can come and go in here, except dragons of course" Fenrir says and I gasp!
Blood of Gaia? Could this girl be the goddess Gaia reincarnated?
