Chapter 168 - Chapter 168: All Parties Gathered

Chapter 168: All Parties Gathered

Ruby gave Maxie emergency treatment to ensure he wouldn't die immediately. As for the severed hands, he couldn't do anything about them.

Next, they had to prepare to return to Sootopolis City. As for how to get there, they could only rely on the Pokémon's diving abilities. After all, diving was difficult, while surfacing was much easier.

Greninja and Gyarados were the main force, while Swampert, Azumarill, and Blastoise could still help by following behind to block the current.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Courtney immediately followed the group of Water Pokémon and began to rise. As for Maxie and the others, they were left to the submarine; they should be able to return alive.

As for Team Aqua? They all had Water Pokémon, so they couldn't die. Even if they did, what would it matter to them?

With the orbs in Ruby and Sapphire's hands, Groudon stopped creating fissures to cause lava eruptions, and Kyogre stopped raising massive waves to flood the land. The two stopped fighting and headed towards Sootopolis City, the final battlefield they had fought on since ancient times.

The League officials were also restless. They dispatched their own forces: the Hoenn regional Champion, the Elite Four, and Gym Leaders, all ready to delay the two Legendary Pokémon, knowing the consequences of their clash.

Not only were they publicly deployed, but the League officials also sent trusted personnel.

"Lance, please," one of the leaders said. "You must prevent the battle between Groudon and Kyogre."

"I'll do my best," Lance said with a bitter smile. "Deoxys, let's go."

A Deoxys beside Lance nodded, its body surging, transforming into liquid and clinging to Lance's body. A thin, protective membrane formed around Lance, and a blue crystal shimmered on its chest.

Lance then opened the conference room window, and Deoxys, in tandem with Lance, quickly headed towards Sootopolis City.

"Should we notify Ryan? He possesses Rayquaza, after all. According to legend, only Rayquaza can stop the war between the two," a woman said.

"Do you think we can control his baby Rayquaza?" a bearded man said. "As for Rayquaza, it's been avoiding us and won't come. If all else fails, we can send out the League's Legendary Pokémon. It's time to demonstrate the League's strength and put those troublemakers at ease."

"We don't need to send out the Legendary Pokémon yet. They're just Groudon and Kyogre. They can't cause any major problems," said an elderly man, already in his twilight years. "Don't forget about that incident. Who among you can bear the consequences of the fall of a Legendary Pokémon? Or who will bear the consequences of a war between Legendary Pokémon?"

Following the old man's words, everyone fell silent: they didn't dare, let alone have the courage to speak out.

"Rayquaza won't ignore this matter. If it does, it would be dereliction of duty," the old man said. "So, the second capture plan has begun. Keep an eye on Rayquaza's movements."

"Yes," everyone said, then gave orders and began preparing for the second capture of Rayquaza.

At Team Rocket's Johto headquarters, Silver approached Giovanni and said, "Father, I'm planning to intervene regarding the Groudon and Kyogre situation in the Hoenn region."

Giovanni looked at his son and said, "Okay, just be careful. Bring your subordinate, Domino, with you. Also, since that traitor, Courtney, has surfaced in Hoenn, bring back her head."

"Got it, Father," Silver said. "Can I use that Pokémon?"

"You can take that one," Giovanni said. "And take some of the experimental subjects for field testing as well."

"Got it, Father. Aren't those experimental subjects still incomplete?" Silver said.

"They're disposable, so we can only test their performance first," Giovanni said with a wave of his hand.

Silver nodded and left Giovanni's office. Giovanni glanced back at the video feed his subordinate had sent back, thoughtfully saying, "We've been researching that portal for some time now. It's time to give it a try."

As he finished speaking, his personal phone rang. Giovanni answered the phone and listened, then said: "I have sent someone, it's my son. So, I don't want my son to have any trouble. If you make me angry, I will not let you off easily."

As the call ended, Giovanni smashed the phone to pieces in anger, and then muttered: "Wait, there will be such a day."

We turn the scene to the Unova region. N is looking at the newly created creature outside the laboratory in the base and smiles: "It's really a masterpiece of engineering. It exists for hunting. But the defects are also obvious. It's not as good as those resurrected Pokémon."

"King, don't be so hasty," a blond man in a research suit appeared and said. "These defects are almost negligible in my eyes. Wait for me to modify it and inject the genes of Steel-type Pokémon into its body. With the technology I develop, it will become a mass-produced Pokémon."

"Oh, then I'll leave it to you, Colress," N said. "Make one first. I want to see its strength."

"As you wish, King," Colress pushed his glasses and bowed to N.

N walked out of the base and returned to his room. He picked up Zoroark and said, "It's about to begin, Zoroark. Come and see whether my ideal is successful or the reality you mentioned is more cruel. I hope you will like the gift I prepared for you."

On the other side, Ruby and the other two who rushed out of the water were finally able to breathe fresh air. Although they were protected by Water Pokémon, there was not much oxygen to guarantee their breathing. The three of them also tried their best to hold their breath to ensure that the Pokémon had time to lead them out.

Courtney released her own Swellow and said, "I guess I won't be needed next. I'll go to Sootopolis City to watch the show first."

After that, Courtney grabbed Swellow's feet, and Swellow flew to Sootopolis City with Courtney. Ruby looked at Courtney and said, "This woman can't be trusted. Although she's with us now, she's likely to betray us and leave."

Sapphire nodded. Though somewhat reckless and straightforward, she sensed that Courtney wasn't on the same page as them. Following them now offered more benefits; if they couldn't achieve her goal, she would simply leave.

"Wailord is nearby. I'll have it pick us up," Sapphire said.

"Next, use the Orbs to control Groudon and Kyogre. That will complete our mission," Ruby said.

A Wailord quickly appeared before them and lifted them up. Ruby and Sapphire recalled the exhausted Pokémon and released Mewtwo and Darkrai.

Mewtwo, having recovered somewhat after a short rest, telepathically called out, "Begin controlling them. We'll help you if there's any danger."

Ruby nodded and said, "I'll leave it to you now. Sapphire and I are entrusting our lives to your hands."

With that, Ruby and Sapphire focused all their energy on controlling Groudon and Kyogre through the Orbs.

Groudon and Kyogre were initially somewhat resistant to Ruby and Sapphire's control, but Ryan had anticipated this situation and had the two Pokémon Eggs carried by Ruby and Sapphire for a while, each carrying a bit of the Pokémon Egg's aura.

After sensing the aura of their controllers, the two Legendary Pokémon couldn't contain their curiosity and headed towards Sootopolis City. Although that was also where they wanted to go, the aura they sensed now made them eager to rush to Sootopolis City.

Kyogre was the first to arrive in Sootopolis City. Sapphire controlled Kyogre, taking over the position of Wailord. Kyogre then took Ruby, Sapphire, and the others with it in a leap, gliding towards Sootopolis City.
